Sadly, the 2004 has nothing to do with Gaston Leroux's book - minus the fact that it simply has the Phantom's, Christine's, & Raoul's name/character included! (The movie was horrible, I thought - for taking place supposedly in an *OPERA*, the lead singer could not sing his role very well!...And he's certainly no "Angel of Music" for me - sorry.)

One day I hope SOMEBODY gets the brilliant idea to do a "true-to-the-Leroux" movie! (The original story is 100 years-old now - and is long overdue!)

Avoid the Robert Englund 'adaptation'. It is hardly, and the whole film was deplorable -- save for some decent soprano from the Christine.

The Vegas show is exactly as it titles itself: spectacular. Try to see it on a Wednesday or Thursday, if you can. Kristen Hertzenberg is magical.
