Conservative != libertarian.

Furthermore, liberalism traditionally means liberty and small government. It's just the Americans who have misunderstood the term.

You say they hold to the original definition of Liberal? Sounds good to me. The perverted American version of Liberalism equates to Socialist Fascism. True liberalism is an admirable quality.

Well, I don't know the organization but assume that they see liberalism in the original sense since their seminar has been posted here :) As far as I know the Canadians also generally use the term liberal in this sense, correct me if I'm wrong.

And yes, I agree that socialism is dangerous.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't know much about the Canadian scene. It was a bit confusing to me to hear "Liberal Studies" people professing what I consider to be conservative or Libertarian views. I think I've got it straight now.

very true my friend. "Liberals" or Liberalism today has been highjacked by progressivism as well as socialist influence. The true Libertarian or Liberal was not far from the modern day Conservative ideology.
