@psyckonaut Damo was "just" the singer ! How could he have ruined the whole band ? Cans later stuff was as intense as this, if not more ... have you never heard Peking O or Soup ? However, this song is great, but can with malcolm was way another band. Damos and Malcolms singing styles are their own league, Malcolms is more repetitive and "voodoo-priest" like and Damos voice is changing often, one second he sounds soft like a pillow and the next he turns into a sword swinging samurai !
if krautrock replaced all commercialzed pop music in america, i think we would see 1) world peace or 2) everyone's underdevolped brains would explode.
P.i.l. and Psychic Tv obviously heard and listrened to these guys.their media-anti consumerist pscyhic distortion is a diffeent context but the music is still Can.Wonderful aural play that it is.Jazz had this at the time too so I dont know where the originality and noise ideas come from make synchronicity of the time. What is happenng now is my QUESTION?

Don't get me wrong,i own a copy of soundtracks & tago mago!
All i'm saying the band had to switch gears to accomidate his singing style, and that i prefered voodoo priest repetion to samurai.

Malcolm Mooney was great!!!,Damo Suzuki ruined this band, They were much more intense & exciting with Malcolm.

I knew Sonic Youth was inspired by Can but here you can REALLY hear it. This sounds like a sonic youth song, hard to believe its an oldie.

Smells like some sort of remix to me - how exactly were they sampling Mooney's voice Tape loop? If so, very impressive - but I'd like to know more...

Possibly a bit too intense for 1968 rock crowds. Sounds like it could have been recorded today.
