  • it is a political "s"

  • 一班中國人係度講英文做老師,不如花多的心思為香港人做事仲好喇!英文好d有分加㗎咩?

  • Not necessarily. He was actually being quite clever. By saying that, "Bow Tie keepS your promise". He effectively turns the intended imperative sentence into a declarative sentence, meaning that "he keeps your promise".

  • 自取其辱

  • 0:11曾特首舉中指

  • 我以為曾特首淨係國語差,原來英文仲爛!

    唔怪得香港母語教學一直推行唔成功,依家又話要搞國文教育,國語都未搞得掂仲想教國文?

  • 其實特首係唔知講緊佢,所以先叫人加S

  • Hou BA CHI AHHHHHHHHHHH BOW TIE!!

  • 特首其實好醒..... 如果加s嫁話

Bow tie keeps your promise,即係講bow tie 有守承諾!

    Donald 轉數快過曬所有人,當中其實無英文問題!

  • @Edwardjsa 係喎~!!! 哈哈哈...

  • 曾先生曾幾何時有聽過人講

YOU! SHUTS THE FUCK UP! ???

  • 講下笑姐~ 特首好幽默 XD

  • Both are right depending on how to use it.

With s behind the keep, it's telling other people that Bow Tie keeps their promises.

Without the s, it's telling Bow Tie to keep his promise.

Maybe Bow Tie knows that and use it to fire back to the line.

  • @Sukyhoi

Aiyo, if so, it should be " Bow Tie keeps HIS election promise. "

    Any way, all play politics.

  • donald is ok. he want to switch the topic. good trick

  • 文法錯在.... bow tie 之後要有comma...

Bow Tie ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, keep your promise.

    如果冇comma 的確要加s... 但就係第二個意思la~

  • 點解佢渣渣下的士做埋特首?

  • 曾蔭權好臭呀 哈哈~!

  • this man is from a great university for hong kong dogs- Fucking U !

  • 'Bow tai KeepS your election promise' will be a SLOGAN for Bow Tai

    lol

  • 片中0.12秒曾先生借飲水舉中指.............

  • 呢句擺明係祈使句......後半部分唔駛加s

Bowtie keeps your election promise 中的your不會是指bowtie

  • @1076751 VERB, not noun

  • I am very shocked that the CEO showed his central finger in 0:11. As a representative of the HKSAR citizens, he needs to respect the public and educate the young to behave themselves. Showing central finger would impose a bad image on the young.

  • Oh god Mr.Tsang donesnt know what imperative mood is...

  • Bow tie love(s) fish,

    Bow tie love(s) tasty food,

    Bow tie love(s) lies,

Bow tie love(s) Functional Constituency and

    Bow tie love(s) Communism definitely!

  • 讀屎片就可以做官

  • @aboutphine what you sya ching chong ching chong. go fuk u mama, zhidphase

  • 我想問o下bow tie 如果我用 "PK almond + orange" 來形容你,

    係 almond 同 orange 後面駛唔駛加 'S' ?

  • @kellymak9 ching chong dong cum suk me Filipino wang wang, smelly whore.

  • 教坏细路英文...

  • I think the point is the "your" in the sentence. Using "your" means person A is talking to person B, so "keep" doesn't need the "s". "Keep" would need the "s" if the sentence reads "Bow Tie keeps his promise."

  • fuck face 即係 fuck face,唔好以為打條煲呔就可以扮紳士,識小小係度扮代表...要串人之前都要知道對手係邊個?你估係'搓波勤'!

煲呔 you are not only a dumbass, you are a dumd ass!

  • 同一個香港有無普選既問題就等於同一個死屍係某殺還是自殺 無普選死唔眼閉 有普選咁心命抵 香港係要死都死係全體香港人手丫而唔係死係一個特手 明白未

  • When you say the sentence out without writing it, then "BowTie____ keep your promise" would sounds correct.

  • You made a very good point by altering the sentence.

All three of your sentences are correct. However, you added "The guardian, the maid...", which make these sentences become talking in third person point of view.

    (Person C talking to B(you) about A's action(s))

In the BowTie case, clearly it is a dialogue that between A to B. (Person A talking directly to Person B(BowTie)).

    Hope this answer your question.

  • In this particular case, it does not matter how Mr. Tsang treats himself as. As long as the council members are refering BowTie as Mr. Tsang, then the sentence is correct (except the comma which I pointed out earlier).

  • 曾生 好心你早d(腳痛)la

  • Bow tie keeps your promise is definitely wrong!!

Bow tie can keep his promise, you can keep your promise, but Bow tie cannot keep your promise!

Bow tie can make his decision, I can make my decision, but Bow tie cannot make my decision!

  • Bowtie, YOU STEP DOWN

  • the fuck care about how good, how bad his english is? this son of a bitch barks!

  • "BowTie, keep your election promise" works if you have a comma, goes the same as

    "BowTie, finish you homework"

    In the other way

"BowTie keeps your election promise." cannot work unless "election promise" is promised by someone else, such as "Tom"

    "BowTie keeps his election promise."

  • "BowTie, finish your homework." typo

  • Bowtie, keep your election promise.

    Bowtie keeps your election promise.

    Donald Tsang is right.

  • It's incredible !!

whoever holds those cards is still trying to ' 攞潘 jar 沙'.

I agree with Chan168, please watch out with the punctuations. Many people in HK really have lousy english... they laugh about the use of english in mainland China, in fact, they are not much different and so bad that they don't even know or admit...pathetic...!!!!

  • 明顯佢當自己係第三者

    咩都唔使關心,唔使理

    你有係鬧,佢有佢講

  • Bow Tie, Keep your election promise

Bow Tie keeps your election promise

i guess they need some lessons on the use of punctuations

    whos wrong??? truth becomes obvious

  • Mrs Tsang always said " Bow-tie!! keep your erection promise would you??

  • ok i think this is what he meant...

    Bowtie KEEPS your election promise.

In his point of view, he thinks he is KEEPING the election promises. While the other people thinks he should KEEP his promises.

  • 有s 無s 都唔識。 進修下, 理解能力高d先再返黎話人啦。

  • You are all wrong. 曾蔭權是說他不是Bow Tie, Bow Tie 是另有其人.所以是第三身單數,要加's'。弦外之音是他既然不是Bow Tie,便不用Keep甚麽your promise,睬你都傻,明冇!

  • 英文都唔識用!!

    影衰晒。

  • This is so 'MO LIU'......come on HK........

  • 佢唔係英文錯..係理解錯姐

    所以佢做左咁耐都無出色

  • they would've needed a comma though.

  • = =一個s攪咁多做乜 真係...咁啦2個都無錯 錯果個係我 錯在我係香港人 有咁既特手咁既議員 請問可不可以快點普選呀...

  • This 's' he is saying is actually more meaningful than grammatic correction.

If the sentence has the extra 's', then the meaning is similar to "Bow Tie is keeping your election promise" , which is a compliment to him.

So he is looking at the posters as if people are admiring him.

  • But then the posters will read 'Bow Tie keeps your election promise'. The 'your' will render the sentence to be untrue as it should be 'his' because it was him who made the promises during election.

  • 有your就姐係唔洗s.

    有your姐係同你講, bow tie唔係第三身名詞, 只不過係人地叫你個名.

    "john, wash your clothes"

你唔會話 "john, washes your clothes" ga ma.... right?

you can say, "john washes HIS clothes"

    "bow tie keeps his promise."

"bow tie, you better keep your promise."

    see the difference?

  • Retard Tsang, you better fucking KEEP your promise.

  • 大前題唔係要遵守當初既競選承諾咩? 做乜去左個S到架

  • 本身o岩

    但係係都要揶揄對方 , 未諗清楚就話人錯

    所以最後我話雙方都錯 (不是文法上)

  • 兩邊都未諗清楚就講

  • 算吧

    不用爭辯太多

  • Bow Tie 肯定食左屎啦! 正一食屎狗!

  • 若說你,應該用you,用bow tie已代表這是第三人稱,若要表達強烈的抗議,是指令句,則應在bow tie之後加入逗號。

  • 煲呔係想讚自己

"bow tie keeps your election promise"

  • 你都錯wor~~ (應該係hand in) =p

  • @disneian

    白痴仔,係hand in your homework,你聼得太多港式英文了。

    Bow Tie

  • sigh... when will he learn???

every time that he doesn't stick to his official scripts (which are probably written by someone else), he gets into trouble. and become the laugh of the town.

  • No need to add "s" or "," or "!":

    britishcouncil . org/learnenglish-central-grammar-imperatives . htm

    Subject with imperative

The imperative does not usually have a subject, but we can use a noun or pronoun to make it clear who we are speaking to.

-Mary come here - everybody else stay where you are.

    -Somebody answer the phone.

    -Nobody move.

  • 1. Yes

    2. No

Keep your promise, 講明係your,點會係 bow tie keeps your promise, 都唔知你講乜。

  • 應以事論事,別人生攻擊!

  • 9up辩論時 我聽過佢d英文好過中文咁話 点知英文重差

  • Bow Tie keeps your election promise is a statement of fact. They're trying to make an imperative statement, which means they need a comma or a colon, not an s

  • 身為爵士, 連咁簡單的英文文法都可以搞錯, 好野

  • 佢份人串柒柒

    以前又濫用職權

    心腸好似...

  • 連imperative tone都唔識

  • 唔好再害我地啦, 請放過我地d香港人啦

  • "曾特狗",沙頭角有間幼稚園的初班仲有位,我已通知校長留返個位比你去讀英文.

  • fucks off la bowtie

  • should of been communist dog keep election your promise

  • Donald Tsang, fucks you

  • 果個位根本要斷句

  • the original is correct.

I can think of a few possibilities:

    Bowtie

    1. trying to play smart, added a letter to change the sentence from an imperative "Bowtie, Keep your primises!" to a narrative "Bowtie keeps his promises." He forgot to change "your" to "his".

    2. was confused. He thought the democrates were praising them.

    3. had a short-circuited brain.

4 never had a good command of English.

  • It was: Bowtie, keep your election promise. (there is a time space in terms of oral expression)

Not a written sentence "Bowtie keeps your election promise"

Donald is fucking stupid. Come on, he just wanted to say shit back to those people and tried to piss them off. Its childish.

  • 咁其實正確ge答案係咩呢?
