Not necessarily. He was actually being quite clever. By saying that, "Bow Tie keepS your promise". He effectively turns the intended imperative sentence into a declarative sentence, meaning that "he keeps your promise".
I am very shocked that the CEO showed his central finger in 0:11. As a representative of the HKSAR citizens, he needs to respect the public and educate the young to behave themselves. Showing central finger would impose a bad image on the young.
I think the point is the "your" in the sentence. Using "your" means person A is talking to person B, so "keep" doesn't need the "s". "Keep" would need the "s" if the sentence reads "Bow Tie keeps his promise."
Keeps is used for third person. However, the sentence has "YOUR promise", that is directing the setence to "you"; therefore, there should not be a "s" after keep.
-----------------------------------
BowTie keep your promise.
IS WRONG, because a "comma" is missing.
-----------------------------------
However, if one have to consider which is worse, adding a "s" would be considered as worse.
You made a very good point by altering the sentence.
All three of your sentences are correct. However, you added "The guardian, the maid...", which make these sentences become talking in third person point of view.
(Person C talking to B(you) about A's action(s))
In the BowTie case, clearly it is a dialogue that between A to B. (Person A talking directly to Person B(BowTie)).
In this particular case, it does not matter how Mr. Tsang treats himself as. As long as the council members are refering BowTie as Mr. Tsang, then the sentence is correct (except the comma which I pointed out earlier).

Bowtie keep your election promise
But this sentence without any punctuation makes the grammar wrong!! I mean, in terms of written English.
"Bowtie keeps your election promise" sounds better this way, as if you don't keep your promise, it can be committed to someone who keeps what you promised for others.

He was aware of their intentions. But he was trying to flip the meaning of the sentence in his favour, as a joke. But it ended up being a really bad joke and it made him look really dumb.
The imperative sentence is actually missing a comma. Protestors failed.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
BowTie was right. There has to be a "s" since no pause after the pronoun or the sentence itself can't be considered as imperative. imperative sentence requires no pronoun---"keep your promise!", "Freeze!" would be good examples.
who can really take up this post without getting blame all the time? who is powerful enough to actually look after the globe? haha...poor donald tsang....god bless...
Bow Tie keeps your election promise is a statement of fact. They're trying to make an imperative statement, which means they need a comma or a colon, not an s
1. trying to play smart, added a letter to change the sentence from an imperative "Bowtie, Keep your primises!" to a narrative "Bowtie keeps his promises." He forgot to change "your" to "his".
2. was confused. He thought the democrates were praising them.
it is a political "s"

Both are right depending on how to use it.
With s behind the keep, it's telling other people that Bow Tie keeps their promises.
Without the s, it's telling Bow Tie to keep his promise.
Maybe Bow Tie knows that and use it to fire back to the line.
RightFooted123 1 year ago

2) First, see there's a comma in the caption?
3) Second, just listen to Ms. Lau. She clearly paused after "Bow Tie". In the English language, you insert a comma where there seems to be a clear pause in the sentence.
Answer: Yes.

No need to add "s" or "," or "!":
britishcouncil . org/learnenglish-central-grammar-imperatives . htm
Subject with imperative
The imperative does not usually have a subject, but we can use a noun or pronoun to make it clear who we are speaking to.
-Mary come here - everybody else stay where you are.
-Somebody answer the phone.
-Nobody move.

He was aware of their intentions. But he was trying to flip the meaning of the sentence in his favour, as a joke. But it ended up being a really bad joke and it made him look really dumb.
The imperative sentence is actually missing a comma. Protestors failed.

"Missing an s" was a joke. If you didn't get it, you're pretty stupid. -_-

命令式要加comma, 但一句口號省略左comma應該無問題. 但不論有無comma, 只有白痴o既人先會當o個句係陳述句, 以為要加s, 仲要扮醒出醜

BowTie was right. There has to be a "s" since no pause after the pronoun or the sentence itself can't be considered as imperative. imperative sentence requires no pronoun---"keep your promise!", "Freeze!" would be good examples.
prinhansonhh 2 years ago
你講乜呀?Keep your promise, 講明係your,點會係 bow tie keeps your promise, 都唔知你講乜。

Bow Tie keeps your election promise is a statement of fact. They're trying to make an imperative statement, which means they need a comma or a colon, not an s

煲呔 is correct about the grammar
or it will be correct, if they mean this "Bow Tie, keep your promise."

the original is correct.
I can think of a few possibilities:
Bowtie
1. trying to play smart, added a letter to change the sentence from an imperative "Bowtie, Keep your primises!" to a narrative "Bowtie keeps his promises." He forgot to change "your" to "his".
2. was confused. He thought the democrates were praising them.
3. had a short-circuited brain.
4 never had a good command of English.
yaukwankiu 2 years ago 4
It was: Bowtie, keep your election promise. (there is a time space in terms of oral expression)
Not a written sentence "Bowtie keeps your election promise"
Donald is fucking stupid. Come on, he just wanted to say shit back to those people and tried to piss them off. Its childish.
