  • Just got this working again on DOSBOX after spending ages trying to get it to run under Windows, so happy :D

  • i want a thrid one

  • man I would love to see Dungeon Keeper 3. cmon Lionhead please please PLEASE stop with all this Fable shit and make DK3!

  • im 15 and still playing this game to this day

  • @deathpiglet1511 bitch please I'm 20 and I'm still playing this game, and there is probably someone who is 30 who is also playing this game

  • @slayerdark0 what im trying to say is that its not a game of my generation yet i still play it ;)

  • I wish we could get this and DKII on Steam

  • Simple to say: Dungeon Keeper = One of the best games ever made!

  • I take a look at these games from "back then", then look at the industry today, and consider suicide.

  • He chops of his head 2 times

    LIKE A BOSS

  • back when my life only consisted of sleeping playing and school, thoughs were the days.

  • This intro is just so fucking awesome .... GAMING COMPANIES YOU NEED TO MAKE FUCKING INTROS LIKE THIS !

  • where can i download this game?

  • @ThePrzemekczech1 Look on Wikipedia, it has some download references

  • Back Then... when i didn't know how to read in English... i used to lose a lot... :(

oh... and this intro was like, the most Gory thing i've ever seen... O_O

lol... i've Seen Elfen Lied... that's everything compared to that...

  • Fuck you EA for scraping DK3 and killing great companies like Bullfrog or Westwood.

  • The lord of the land is approaching

  • Best game EVER :D

  • That troll flipped the knight the finger

  • read his lips: is the bile demon @ 1:23 saying "you talking to me"?

  • BEWARE HE LOR... yeah yeah the do gooder ponce won't get through the first 5 lightning traps....

  • I WANT DUNGEON KEEPER 3!!!!!!

  • I crashed DK once. I played it in the 90s then in 2007 I booted it up on a beast machine. Spent all day amassing the biggest fuck off army known to mankind, trained them all up to level 10, and then threw them all in one place in the enemy's dungeon. CARNAGE ENSUED, and then it crashed moments later.

  • @ChristopherDone Sounds like one hell of a fight lol XD

  • @PTD01 xD Good times.

  • @ChristopherDone Agreed :) Most definitely best pc game i've ever had the honour of stealing from my brother haha

  • i love the bit at the end with the freaky sounding choir and it zooms in on the title with the dungeon heart

  • @ZygoInferior yea i think i finished it 10 times

  • is it possible to get a mac version??

  • If anyone that reads this wins the lottery, do buy all the shares in Bullfrog that EA owns and let them make a GOOD game for a change (not like Harry Potter or some other shitty movie-franchise game).

Dungeon Keeper 3 MUST be made!

This is our childhood! This must be our future!

  • @Marverinno All companies like that care about is graphics these days... I'm not saying it's their fault, but sometimes they have to market it towards the complete idiots who go "hurr durr graphucz imprussuve" and therefore are marketed towards, per se. Makes you wonder if DK3 would be good for our time.

  • @Thizdah

Well perhaps just a remake of DK1 that actually works with Vista or windows 7... but really this could have been such a great game franchise, there aren't enough decent-good "It's good to be bad" games out there.

And Dungeon Keeper 1 took the cake in its time, Dungeon Keeper 2 was a tad player friendly but still worth playing.

I understand companies need their money from the BF3 / MW fanboys but it's time a REAL game came out.

  • I wish Overlord was related to Dungeon Keeper!

  • Is this the kind of Dungeon keeper with Joseph Friztle.

  • Oh God THIS IS THE BEST GAME FROM ALL TIME!

  • Any1 wants to play some multiplayer games, PM me :)

  • maaan, apparently it doesn't run on a 64 bit OS. oh well, time to clean up the old PC - just found the disc!

  • easier to see on YouTube then in game cause it doesn't stretch to full screen

  • where do you find ''executable'' on xp

  • I want Dungeon Keeper 3.

  • Your minions are winning in battle!

    You have conquered this realm!

  • This is actually really fun :D

  • go google "keeper fx mod"

here you can play it under windows 7

  • The Swedish narrator voice for this game hasnt been surpassed by anything up to date. The sound in general still gives me chills, what a fantastic game...

  • @hedman

    Dina underhuggare vinner sin strid.

  • Why is the avatar in this game at 1:37 ?

  • @Nickbond12

    Why not?

  • They don't make games like this anymore :(

  • @ThysiosX Yeah, nows its flashy graphics and no entertainment value, I can remember when this and its sequal where released... so much fun.

  • Hahaha, that made me laugh. To see the Horny Reaper in Super Smash Bros. would be fucking epic.

  • Minecraft was inspired by this :D

  • LOL. I haven't seen a Bullfrog game in years!!! . . . its a shame really. They made some good games

  • Got a Windows XP Virtual Machine. JUST for this game xD

  • *_*

  • Also, in this game you can ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL

  • do you manage to know the composer of this soundtrack? cause it sounds like NIN and the like

  • I love this intro!!!

  • anyone have tabs for this? want to learn SO BAD!!!!

  • @zackfool2

    Tabs?

  • @UndercoverLdn guitar tabs

  • @zackfool2

oh... nope not me sorry lol

  • @UberCookieboy im 13 i played it when i was 7 i loved it all the newer eneration kids at my school love it too

  • Where can I find the game? The only one that I found Virus free had a part missing >=(

  • @ANGRYMAPLE You may need to find a ISO version off it try to download uTorrent and then find a torrent thats a ISO(Most Likely it will be a raw file). Then find Daemon Tools and run it through there.

  • hmm possible to start it somehow windowed? ^^ on a huge screen it looks a little... messy :D

  • Lionhead are interested, but from what i have heard they are having no luck with EA

  • @UberCookieboy i agree. even for being made 1997 i still play this game and it still rocks. DK II was kinda eh. im more partial to dungeon keeper one and deeper dungeons are challenging.

  • Horned Reeper was so much more badass in DK1, he was like a psychotic killer that fucked up everything. In DK2 he was kinda stupid, but hell I would have been satisfied if they made a DK3 with him in it from DK2, long as there is a DK3, and Dungeons is shit by the way, thought I'd tell everyone not to buy it.

  • Take a look:

    watch?v=A2Z3Ub-Dhdw

  • one of the best games EVER

    BULLFROG = EPICNESS

  • reminds me of a Reboot episode...

  • Can someone help me? My game works, but I'm having this graphic problem just recently. My Dark Mistresses lightning spell and Dragon's flame won't come out, speed's creature aren't look fast, and my Vampire's flight cloud is flickering. Why?

  • Haven't see that thing in years.

  • If anyone is having problems running Dungeon Keeper these days, send me an e-mail and I'll do my best to help you out. I've had success before, mind you.

  • @TheBoomViper i have had problems, i tried to download it on my new laptop and it wouldnt let me, it would download but when i try to play it shows that nothing has downloaded and wont start properly

  • @ShazowNeptulon

Now hold on a second. Once you download the game, you need to install it first; go to the folder where you've downloaded it and run the setup file. Once you install it, then you can run the game.

  • Let's find out if this 'Dungeons' game can be a worthy spiritual successor.

  • @Reaps51 Well... its not !

  • Dungeon Keeper was a grate game and why is it so hard to find a game with an evil protagonist that is not as camp as hell? And I'm not counting characters of grey morality.

  • Memories... For me one of the best cutscene ever in a video game

  • Dungeon keeper 2's soul succesor is coming in february, the game is called dungeons and is being developed by kalypso. Its not officially dungeon keeper but watch the videos about it and you will see the similarity, hell, the teaser video is almost exactly the same as this one...

  • can anyone help me I'm trying to play it on my windows 7 but when I try to install it for some reason after I press the install button it never comes back up.... any help would be greatly appreciated...

  • @R3DISF0RAW3S0ME Read the description please :)

  • @R3DISF0RAW3S0ME I've tried to install the game on windows 7 too... and got the same problem as yours =(

but it still runs on windows xp (tested on my 5 years old PC ^^) I couldn't find a better way so you can try it ^^

  • @R3DISF0RAW3S0ME

copy alle the files from your DK1 CD to a brand new map in your C:/ station.

    then install it.

    then install it with dosbox.

    then run it with dosbox.

    worked for me.

  • Dungeon Keeper it was a game from my childhood. too effin bad that Dungeon Keeper 2 sucks

  • back when dungeon keeper was scary and not stupid. Every great game touched by EA has ended up turning stupid.

  • most badass intro ever

  • Best soundtrack ever

  • I actually almost dressed up as the Horned Devil for Halloween.

  • @Gruumsh4 Call him horny ^^

  • Thanks bro for adding tips for getting this running on XP or Vista cause I loved this game when I was younger.

  • @Ijsbrandy91

Not on Vista. Vista's lame as hell...

  • i have this game on my laptop i run it on d fend reloded

  • i hate that this game wont work on vista or 7......

  • @fox5535 i hear this game works ok on windows 7 x32bit and there is some complicated way to get it to work on x64bit which is something i wouldnt mind finding out so i can play it on my laptop but meanwhile i got my old XP desktop ;)

  • I was in first grade. <3

  • the knight looks more badass in dk1 but i REALLY like the mistress in dk2. Plus i like the horned reaper in dk2

  • @UrGrimStupidity You could have copied the files to your computer, I did that so I didnt need the disc anymore.

  • If anybody has an operating which no longer supports Dungeon Keeper, and you still want to run it, you can download Microsoft Virtual PC for free. Message me for more info.

  • Could I ask you, which software did you used for frapsing of it ? (Fraps doesn't work)

  • DK1 is the best game ever!

  • Actually, the one to possess creatures in Cranium Interum, and it's Latin. It basically menas to enter the mind.

  • This brings back some memories from my childhood :) Determined to find my copy and play again!

  • Speaking of which, anyone up for some multiplayer? I'm stuck playing IPX with my homie, on the rare occasion he feels like playing (which is just too damn easy), and I would love to play someone who can actually beat me at this. Much respect to those who can, for I am a MASTER DUNGEON KEEPER!!!!

  • ohhhhhhh memories....MEMORIES!!!! damn, 97'.....good ol' high school days. This intro sparked my love for metal, I must admit. PLEASE!!! will Blizzard or ID or SOMEONE make a DK3?!?!?! DK2 was nice, but doesn't EVEN come close to this classic!!! Ironic how the 1st of a series is always the best, huh?

  • @hippieparadox Check out the game dungeons by Kalypso media it could be the game you are looking for!

  • DK games were awesome. It's kinda unique in many aspects, and there was a whole charm of being evil, the game actually was successful in twisting things in a way you would enjoy slaying the white knights.

  • Of all the game the games that were ever made this was the best plus it has the finest intro ever. I was not even capable of playing the game i was so little, but when I saw that intro I was simply mindblown... Those were good times.

  • just for corriusity ... can someone tell me how the dungeon narator calls the spells u can use in this game?

    i only remember those:

(not sure if i wrote them right)

    possess- grenium internum

create imp - imp po senitrum

    speed up - accelerati

    heal - vitae

eye of evil - octus diabolus

i ask because i realy like how the narator pronounced them ^^

.... in such an EVIL way ^^

  • @MrTBSC I think you've got those mostly right. I think the commentator uses Latin words like "vita" which is Latin for "life", and "octus diabolus" which would be "eye of evil" I guess.

I think possess was "cranium internum"

    I remember:

    Lightning Strike = "Electum Deium"

    Chicken = "Tikka"

    Disease = "Mortis"

Call to Arms = "Aggressum Attractus"

  • @Headhanger

    cool thx ^^

  • @MrTBSC I've just finished a Dungeon Keeper Latin dubbing/language version :p All narator's remarks are now in Latin, and imo it sounds very fitting :p I will make soon an example youtube video.

  • @MrTBSC summon kfc restaurant - chickenus farmus

  • DG 1 > DG 2

  • anybody know where to download this game? would be grateful.

  • i have windows 7 ... and i tried do install dk1 .. works .. but .. when it starts .. won't work :| .... what i can do for play it :-s ? best game !!

  • @TomescuCalin Compability mode. Alternatively, DOSbox should work. Google it!

  • At 1:27, he was like wtf?!

  • fucking awesome game, been playing it this long weekend. I'm surprised only a handful of people I know have ever played this game

  • ...continued... - playing the multiplayer levels in singleplayer mode - special-poem day - leap-day (can not run the game) - send harrassment (ALT+F1 to +F8) (F6 doesn't seem to work) - hidden message in the .exe file - "please give all" (doesn't work) - cheat mode (possess+F11 or F12) (doesn't work) - torture-screen - chicken-sacrifice message - printer-messages - the invincible chicken (doesn't seem to work) That's all, so if you have any more, add it to the list!
  • Could anyone send me the original manual of this game? I have the Gold-version, and it supposadly lacks certain things from the original manual.

Also if anyone could help me gathering ALL the hidden features, I'd be most grateful. I already have a LONG list of those, but I'm not sure if I have them all.

Let me list what I have:

    - run the game w/o CD

    - 4 hidden level bonus

    - The Moon Level

    - feckoff, skeksis, jlw (these result greetings)

    - 7 birthday-wishes

    ...continue...

  • @rimbanig23 FAIL

  • Ahh, its the good sound when you smack a creature untill it die..

    Love it :')

  • The first dungeon keeper had a fast, action paced, raw feel to it. And it was loved for that and the fury of things that happen. I still remember the glee on hearing the howl of the Horned reaper when dropped into combat along with dark mistresses :D

  • @rohitbandaru Not forgetting the grumblings of prisoners languishing in your cells!

  • @rohitbandaru My favorite was when I would drop about 8 Demon Spawn on my enemies and the speakers would burst with the howl, and my dad in the other room would yell "turn that down!!" =) Good old school days.

  • @rohitbandaru I remember Horned Reaper. If he was made to do anything other than pray, sleep and fight and didn't have a constant supply of money, he'd lose his shit and start breaking things. Yes, even eating pissed him off.

  • Best game!

  • i wona play it so bad :P

  • I remember i was watching this intro every time i was playing the game!!

  • best game&intro ever made :D

  • wow I randomly clicked on this video and got my memories back.I bought this game when I was 6 for like 5$ cause it was in the junk box of the store.I had so much fun and I could share it with other people who played this underated game:3

  • @joshi209 IT IS PAYYYYDAYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Does anyone know if Dungeon Keeper will run on Windows 7 (professional / home)?

I know it doesn't work on Windows Vista (Vista's trash). Would really appreciate it if someone gets back to me! Thanks!

  • @TheBoomViper You can always try running a virtual machine and running DK from that. I don't know if anyone has tried yet.

Try VirtualBox - it's a free virtual machine program. It's pretty easy to use, as far as virtual machines come, and it might run Dungeon Keeper.

  • @Headhanger

Thanks dude. But can this VirtualBox run on Vista?

  • @TheBoomViper Yep. It will even run on Linux.

  • @Headhanger

Just got Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (for Vista), and installed Windows 98. Perfect setup. Thanks heaps for the heads up, I owe you.

  • @TheBoomViper Sacrifice a warlock in the temple and we'll call it quits. ;)

    Glad to help.

  • @TheBoomViper

There's a tutorial around here about running it on vista/7 with MS compatibility toolkit. Try to find it. I can't say it works, I have XP, but you can give it a try.

  • @skaruts

Believe me I've tried everything to have it run on Vista. No go, Joe. Like total no go. It works great on XP though. Thank the Lord for Microsoft Virtual PC, now I installed XP and Win 98 to run older programs.

  • @TheBoomViper

Well, I noticed now you have run it with virtual PC.

But there's another possible solution, which I don't know if know about.

    .

Google for KeeperFX. A friend of mine got it running on Win7, I think it's the same, so it should work. He only needed to change the ingame resolution to 640x480 on the cfg file and it works.

    .

KeeperFX has some bugs, but it's worth it, also because it doesn't run so fast that you can't do some stuff well. :D

  • @skaruts

Hmm, I could give it a shot, however I should let you know that Win 7 didn't even let me run the SETUP of Dungeon Keeper...I was like, oh man, that is just wrong. Still, I'm not complaining. Virtual PC is the only viable option, and that works fine. Thanks anyway though.

  • @TheBoomViper

If you try KeeperFX, know that it still has bugs. It's still in development. Seems pretty stable tho. And has quite nice things like incorporated fan missions and campaigns, and supports higher resolutions (not perfectly, but nicely).

    .

Though I may try virtual PC myself to check if I can play with direct3D and see the diference between the orignal w/ d3D and KeeperFX w/ 640x480 or higher.

    .

And also to run the editor in its normal speed. :D

  • lmao, did he just flip him off at 0:55?

  • @tatervader502

    yupp he did :P

  • My first game on PC (1997)

  • I had a non-playable demo of this game years ago, but I never played it, and the demo scared the crap out of me as did the magazine ad for the game.

  • YOUR MINIONS ARE UNDER ATTACK

  • Great memories... :)

  • Man... this was my first pc game ever... I feel some sort of bond with it... Considering it took my gaming virginity :P

Also and still is, one of the best ever games! I wish they made a Part 3 :D

  • My first PC-game!

  • were from :O tell tell tell

  • still havent found a effective way to slow it down tho ma pc makes it run turbo fast even in dosbox lol

  • oh!

i love this game!....so old but its ever cool!

  • Aah,what beautiful memories :)super)))

  • It's only me, or the iron pants of the Knight filled with ''some brown matter'' when he saw the Bile Demon?

  • best game ever for me!! :D i still enjoy playing it and i still love it! :D its so fucking awesome!! :)

  • a very old game, but this gameplay kicks ass!! still got the Deeper dungeons

  • aaaahh memories

  • Used to play this when I was about 5 or 6, endlessly.. such an epic game.

Bullfrog made such great games it's a real shame they're not around anymore :( Populous, Theme Hospital, Powermonger..

  • Aah,what beautiful memories :) Best game when you want to feel like a true badasss :)

  • 1:37

Avatar (the final boss) is there!
