What a performance! But, a couple of oddities such as that starting at 2:57 where the flow is interrupted. If only Gavrilov has performance with this type of excitement and energy in some of the other concertos he recorded.
This is a so unbelivable recording! Indeed you hardly find any live recordings; not only the technical skills of gavrilov are unmatched- it's also a pleasure to hear his great intellectual power with every single note! So he is the one having time to care for details while playing unplayable parts. Thank you so much Andrei!
Unbelievable, really! This concerto is very seldom played because of its enormous difficulties. Gavrilov plays it in a way that is unmatched in the whole of musical performance history!
I really like the set up on the stage because the pianist can actually see the conductor instead of giving and receiving those awkward backward glances haha!
Not of this world! Gavrilov reminds us in a most stylish fashion that the piano is a percusion instrument and how wonderful this can be - and not only in Bartok.
This is a very precise rendition. Though I still can't help thinking it is not a very good piece.
I am gathering pieces to add to to the bonfire of history, and this piece would burn. Anyone got any more pieces to add to the pyre?

This is amazing...I love Gavrilov.
Thank you Puchjok so much for this upload...
Gavrilov captures the emotions and feelings of this piece really well, the transcendentalism, the eeriness, and the intimacy all at the same time
Bravissimo

Был на этом концерте. До сих пор нахожусь под впечатлением. Гаврилов, при всех его причудах, совершенно потрясающий и очень глубокий музыкант.

The conductor has done a wonderful job of keeping the whole thing together.
This is absolutely superb.

To me, he is one of the best players alive, the quality of which unfortunately is dying away.
