The POOR white guy is a much smaller percentage of the population. that is true. there are many reasons for that. blacks are more poor, and poor people are less educated and less intelligent adults. But from birth, blacks do not have less natural ability. They are just less likely to make the most of their ability because of their schools, their gangs, their drugs, etc. Most of that is related to poverty.
As far as Representatives, you are right that it is way too easy to become one. I think most of you know what gerrymandering is, but for those who don't, state legislatures often draw district lines with a purpose in mind. For instance, if they feel that there need to be more black representatives, they sometimes create districts in black areas so that a black Rep. will get elected. These are often poor areas, and they elect one of their own, so you see people like Brown.
She seems like an idiot, but she shows the dangers of racial gerrymandering more than she shows the "idiocy" of all black people I think. When the state legislature draws a district full of poor black people, they don't have much of a choice but to elect a poor black person as a Representative. This is why racial gerrymandering is supposed to be illegal. But, it still goes on in many places, including apparently Florida.
That money is usually mismanaged, I believe. The government is usually inefficient with its money, and the people that receive it (which are, often, black) can be corrupt. I won't deny that. They see money after a life of poverty and take it for themselves instead of using it for their school. But as you can see, poverty is almost always the underlying issue. I don't know how to fix it--I'm not saying to just give money to black people--but it is the issue behind most of this.
There's a wealth of studies and various research showing IQ differences between races (where blacks rate the lowest). It just so happens they are black but try and do some research..you'll find the truth is actually quite racist but the truth nonetheless.
Even IF that were true, which I seriously doubt, I know plenty of caucasians who aren't very bright who don't act like idiots and plenty of smart ones who do. Before you start drawing conclusions based on shady data, maybe you should consider that there are many other factors that determine behavior, other than raw intelligence. For example, socio-economic status, education, culture, environment....get it? You have to make a definitive connection between race and your claims or you look foolish.
Why do people associated with UF feel the need to try to convince the rest of the planet that UF is some pinnacle of academic greatness? Great universities and highly accomplished people don't need to convince others about how extraordinary they are. Your accomplishments should speak for themselves and Ms. Browns two graduate degrees from UF are speaking loud and clear. While not a Masters, the Ed.S. is a post graduate degree at UF. It requires " 72 credits beyond the bachelor's.. or a minimum of 36 credits beyond the master's degree" according to the UF site. She is also listed as a "Prominent UF Alumni" on several Gatorzone newsletters.
UF is proud to have her as an Alum and she did earn her post graduate degree from there. I think it's unfair to deny her achievements at UF while simultaneously holding her out as an prominent alum.

I found those gatorzone newsletters. You're correct. I find it strange that the only publication that recognizes her as a true "alumnus" is the one associated with our athletics program. She's an embarassment. I just wish people would understand that she isn't a true representation of our graduates just as much as President G.W. Bush isn't a true representation of a typical Yale and Harvard alumnus or Howard Stern of a typical Boston U grad. It's unfair to judge all by the flaws of one.

If you go to the UF website and type in known graduates, their names appear next to the year of graduation if they got a bachelor's, master's, phd, or professional degree from there. Her name never appears. If you check Wikipedia and other sources, her Master's is from FAMU. She wants people to believe it's from UF but it isn't. As far as her teaching at UF. Someone can teach one course for one semester and be immediately removed from that post...yet, they can still claim professorship.

i am not suggesting all grammar schools are equal. but you have to ask yourself why the inner city schools are inferior in the first place - why can't blacks create quality schools in their neighborhoods if they are equal in intelligence as the white school staffs.
don't try to make a case that white schools are better because they receive more money - there is presently huge amounts of money being thrown at these bad urban schools to no avail.

The POOR white guy is a much smaller percentage of the population. that is true. there are many reasons for that. blacks are more poor, and poor people are less educated and less intelligent adults. But from birth, blacks do not have less natural ability. They are just less likely to make the most of their ability because of their schools, their gangs, their drugs, etc. Most of that is related to poverty.

As far as Representatives, you are right that it is way too easy to become one. I think most of you know what gerrymandering is, but for those who don't, state legislatures often draw district lines with a purpose in mind. For instance, if they feel that there need to be more black representatives, they sometimes create districts in black areas so that a black Rep. will get elected. These are often poor areas, and they elect one of their own, so you see people like Brown.

When the state legislature draws a district full of poor black people, they don't have much of a choice but to elect a poor black person as a Representative. This is why racial gerrymandering is supposed to be illegal. But, it still goes on in many places, including apparently Florida.

That money is usually mismanaged, I believe. The government is usually inefficient with its money, and the people that receive it (which are, often, black) can be corrupt. I won't deny that. They see money after a life of poverty and take it for themselves instead of using it for their school. But as you can see, poverty is almost always the underlying issue. I don't know how to fix it--I'm not saying to just give money to black people--but it is the issue behind most of this.

Even IF that were true, which I seriously doubt, I know plenty of caucasians who aren't very bright who don't act like idiots and plenty of smart ones who do. Before you start drawing conclusions based on shady data, maybe you should consider that there are many other factors that determine behavior, other than raw intelligence. For example, socio-economic status, education, culture, environment....get it? You have to make a definitive connection between race and your claims or you look foolish.

Great universities and highly accomplished people don't need to convince others about how extraordinary they are. Your accomplishments should speak for themselves and Ms. Browns two graduate degrees from UF are speaking loud and clear.
