Yes, Obama most certainly has changed the tax structure to effectively take from the productive and hand to the non-productive. THAT IS SOCIALISM, and it is completely incompatible with our Capitalist way of life. It also threatens true freedom and civil liberties because it allows government to decide who gets what. We should have NO tax at all! The income tax has only been around since 1913. We have plenty of places to get money without taxing the populace.

Obama is nothing more than a statist politician.  His policies are just as bad as Bush's or what McCain would have brought. Obama is NOT the 'Saint' everyone thinks he is. His cabinet is absolutely TERRIBLE. He ran on an 'anti-war' platform, yet he has assembled complete warmongers around him, chief of which is Rahm Emanuel, a Jewish Zionist, Israeli partisan and warmonger. Both Biden and Holebrook are also warmongers, as is Hillary Clinton. So, how is Obama going to stay out of war?

Politicians are very clever people. But I support him because I'd rather at least a change in economic policy if nothing else. McCain was promising to do what Bush did to get us into this mess.

OH NO HE WASN'T! He emphatically stated that he would keep us out of useless wars and practice true non-interventionism. He also said he is for dialogue with potential "enemy nations" instead of outright attacking them preemptively. He's now backpeddling on that promise. His economic policy is NO DIFFERENT than the policies that have bankrupted this economy. He is the same 'Borrow & Spend" politician as the rest and wants rampant Socialism throughout our system. That is going to ruin us!

His policies are completely different from Bush's. I don't know what you're talking about. Furthermore, the only Socailist idea he has made is to change the tax structure, which is nothing new because the Income Tax has been a progressive tax (higher rate for higher incomes) since it existed - look it up on the IRS' website.

As of yet he technically can't backpedal on the promise, while his cabinet choices are certainly interesting, he hasn't had a need to attack anyone new. We'll have to see.

OK, let me educate you. Both Lincoln and Bush were for enhancing the power of government. Both killed Habeas Corpus. Both were statists. Both had open contempt for the Constitution and violated it at will. Both gave extraordinary powers to themselves during wartime by bullying Congress. Both violated the Bill of Rights. Both engaged in illegal wars. Both usurped Civil Liberties. Both exuded vicious contempt for criticism of their policies. Lincoln went so far as arresting critics!

Well, remember, our ancestors were under the 'Bush' of the 1860's, Abraham Lincoln.  Both Bush and Lincoln were exactly the same. Their policies were almost identical. They both share the dubious honor of legislation which canceled Habeas Corpus, they were both intolerant of criticism, they launched illegal, immoral wars, and they were both Fascists at heart and deed. Disliking Bush comes easy after a cretin like Lincoln.

Lincoln did NOT "end slavery." That's one of the many fallacies of his history. Slavery was ending all over the Western world, including the States. In 1863 only 5% of Southerners (plantation owners) had slaves, and the Industrial Revolution was about to end all that. Lincoln did MANY "wrong things." He was a tyrant and demagogue. He was a terrible president and worse 'American.' He had the same contempt for the Constitution as did Bush.

They're not the same thing. People get credit for what they didn't do all the time. Has happened to me quite often.

The 5% thing was because of wealth. I do understand the statistics, but I've also looked at media from the time and the south insisted that slavery was "good".

I do understand that Lincoln didn't really free the slaves, or at least not for slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation was a war tactic, that's all.

Whatever "media" you're quoting from you need to disgard it because the South NEVER said "slavery was good." And, you're implying that if all Southerners were "wealthy" they'd have slaves. That's rubbish. There were lots of "wealthy" Soutnerners who did not own slaves. The Planters owned slaves to work the plantation.

I've seen it plenty of times, and its stuff from school, not what a guy on youtube told me. At first it was "bad, but necessary" but then people started to insist that it was "good".

While there were SOME wealthy southerners with no slaves, obviously, the majority of southerners who could afford a slave owned one.

Actually, both Douglass and Lincoln's own political expediency should be given "credit" for the Emancipation Proc. And Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, and Kentucky were exempt rom the 13th and allowed to continue slavery. Three of the four 'Union' states. Hmm. And you believe what they teach you in "school?" You're "schooling" is wrong. No Southerner stated slavery was "good." It was both necessary and an accepted practice during those days, albeit waning. Northerners also owned slaves.

However I don't think just ditching the rest of the country (which is just as pissed off about the last 8 years) is the right solution. Not only does it create more problems, international issues, and what not, it's kind of insulting. "Screw you guys, I'm going home".

Instead of just leaving, try to work with what are, in the end, your fellow American citizens to get what we want in the government. I'm fairly liberal (from Seattle) and there's many things I agree with your side on.

There's nothing immoral or shameful about secession. The Founders even allowed for it in the Constitution since they themselves Seceded from Britain. America is too far gone to save. Secession would be best for our part of the country since we've never really been an integral part since the end of Lincoln's war. We all want out anyway, and we think we can govern ourselves better than Washington can. We sure can't do any worse.

I would question that we've only had ONE bad president, but all it takes is ONE to wreck a nation. Every modern president since Wilson has engaged in some kind of 'me too' statis which has culminated in the downfall we are seeing today. Obama will be no different and, in fact, may be much worse. First, you can cut out Texas as being part of the South. They sold out years ago. And Missouri? They never were part of us. Only northern Florida including the Panhandle is 'Southern' any more. Tennessee supports anti-Southern scum like Al Gore, so they're out. I've never heard a peep out of West Virginia either pro or con. So, the true map of Dixie will look a lot different than the one depicted in this video.

Organize a group or groups within your own state. Then make some connection within other states with people of like mind. We need a reliable form of communication between groups and states. We can't rely upon the internet for that. Too many eyes and ears, and it could be taken down with realitive ease.
