I live in Canada, and every time Phish announces a tour, my fiance and I jump in the car and embark on our 8-20 hour journey... Its just what you do...  I don't bitch and boycott them becuase they haven;t played in Canada in 12 years, I just go to where they ARE playing...

You know, I don't usually respond to this, but how can you say any of that? How exactly are they "shitting" on the places they aren't playing? Seeings how you, more than likely have no idea what it's like to be in a massively famous band and to plan dates, I would just shut up. It makes you look really arrogant, and ignorant for that matter. Phish is an amazing band, and some of the nicest musicians around. Time to see things from two sides.

I know a thing or two about the music industry. I know just about every band under the sun is no afraid to play different markets the way that Phish is.

Nobody is asking Phish to permanently stop shitting on 80% of the country the way they always do. Just one normal tour outside of the same tired markets would be nice.

Every other "massively famous band" seems to be able to tour outside of the same 10 cities. Why is Phish so afraid to do the same?

I'm going to 3 shows. 18 hours to Michigan, 4hrs to the next, another 4hrs to the next venue, then all the way back home. You do the math on that trip. The thing is that I want to do other things this summer besides Phish. Instead i'm blowing all my money to see Phish.

Plus, Phish can do whatever they want to do, they've already had a tremendous career all over the place, maybe they pick "tired" places because they are physically and mentally tired. They might be done wanting to travel and explore and instead want to keep in touch with places they enjoy visiting and crowds they enjoy playing to.

I would be very suprised to see them play anywhere they havent played over and over during 3.0

Instead of "Summer tour" they should just call it East coast tour, or Spring tour since this tour ends before the summer even stars.
