I think what defines stupidity in this video is mistaking a left turn for a U turn. And it's not every day that someone (cop or not) is hurtling down the residential area at high speed. That person has probably made that turn a thousand times, never having encountered such a situation. What's stupid is high speed chases that cause accidents like this.
The Cops had the right of way. Still, that's pretty fast for a Police officer to be driving in a residential area. Overall, the car should have been more cautious. But who knows, maybe they lost control or didn't notice the Cop car or something.

@yangoholic How is it the cops mistake when he clearly has the right of way? I don't know where you went to learn how to drive but usually people driving straight have the right of way versus a person that is making a left turn.

the thing is: when there is incoming trafic, you dont turn! be it U turn or a simple left or right turn, as long as you have to cross the incoming lane, you wait til its either free or til someone stops to let you pass. you dont cut through trafic

Pause the video when the information on the camera comes up..it only has an "L" for lights, not an "s" for sirens..If he would've had his sirens on while going 90 mph down neighborhood roads he might have avoided a collision..granted he probably had a reason for going silent, but still

I think what defines stupidity in this video is mistaking a left turn for a U turn. And it's not every day that someone (cop or not) is hurtling down the residential area at high speed. That person has probably made that turn a thousand times, never having encountered such a situation. What's stupid is high speed chases that cause accidents like this.

The Cops had the right of way. Still, that's pretty fast for a Police officer to be driving in a residential area. Overall, the car should have been more cautious. But who knows, maybe they lost control or didn't notice the Cop car or something.

@TomKreder of course i did but that was an edited sound effect becuase if he hit the brakes to the amount that forces the tyres to Screech then it means he locked up the brakes and you can't change the direction of the car in that state unless you lift your foot of the brakes , if he locked up the brakes then turned left then his car will move sideways and hit the other car from his passenger side not from his front bumper
