  • Cyanide smells of bitter almond as you described the seed's scent.

  • How much of your diet do you grow on your balcony or how much would you be able to grow if you tried to maximize the yield? How much of your diet would you be able to obtain from foraging without spending a lot of time?

  • The honest answer is very little, unless I'm growing fish or algae or edible insects something like that. I can provide enough greens to stay mineralized and alkaline and vitamin C and things like that, but calories and essentially fatty acids, etc, no way.

  • I love all your stuff! Do you ever do tours of good spots to find food?

  • yes, I do! You can find out some of them by going to my site, FeralKevin (dot) com and clicking on the classes tab.

  • Kevin, what does the cherry laurel taste like? We don't have anything like that here in Indiana.

  • They taste like feral cherries. There is a bitterness, astringency, and richness that is lacking in normal cherries, but otherwise very similar. Note, very bitter fruit should not be eaten, being an indication of cyanide related poisons.

  • Thanks for this Kevin

  • Thanks Kevin. What is coming into season for Sept - Oct.?
