so i've never seen this before, i just watched it because it was in my recommended videos. It feels very similar to the old batman animated series.

Despite being a typical giant robot series, Big O was pretty unique in many ways. There as a clear American influence, unlike Gundam or Macross. Schwarzwald was a great character to me because as maniacal as he is, you have to ask if what he is doing is really that evil: all he wants is to learn the truth, even if that truth is horrible.

I always felt like Big O really lost both fights against Big Duo, but for the purposes of the show continuing was allowed the victory. First he grapple hooks a thousand-ton megadeus on a false sky (and outruns an explosion). Then Big Duo happens to land in the very spot Big O will fall upon. Finally, Schwartzwald, who was capable of dodging a piston punch, completely and utterly chokes. Inferno's victory requires no argument.

In any case, Big Duo was clearly the Megadeus to have!

If you want to use that argument Big-Duo shouldnt be able to fly at all so roger hooking the false sky isnt any worst. Big-Duo was designed for hit and run flying tactics onece it lost one of it's arms(which I asume both were needed to fly) it it was over. As for how Roger landed he probably swung in Duo's direction and came down to fast for Big-Duo to take off.

He didnt choke you can see him clearly trying to take off before Big-O lands on him he didnt panic untill Roger was ontop and Big-Duo lost it's arm. Besides Big-O can survive being hit by the king of destuction and take bairly anny damage I wouldnt put it past Big_O to survive that explosion.

@TeamTowers1 - Actually, since it fails to take off, because Big-Duo appears to be out of fuel at 6:18 - 6:19. Schwartzwald apparently tries to take off at this point but fails. So, even if Big-O didn't land on Big-Duo the fight may have been more in Roger's favor at this point anyway.

@Jadervason well, the only problem was that big duo's will(i don't know what word to use) was too strong, it was able to try to get up and walk away without a pilot

@Jadervason Big Duo was quite clearly the weakest Big. It had the weakest armor and the weakest attacks. It's main advantage was flight and it ONLY had that advantage this fight because roger had no ammo on him. The chrome buster could have obliterated the missiles but instead Roger decides to use it to fake him out. Don't even get me started on how Big O was taking damage FAR more severe than the missiles Duo shot and it was barely damaged at all. Fau was the strongest by a landslide though.

@xOmniCloudx I disagree bud. Watch the fight with Big Duo Inferno... Duo was just as heavily armored as the other bigs, in that regard 'he' is unique amongst mecha: great tremendous speed and a very tough nut to crack.

Roger was out of ammo because he had already used it all, to no effect, in the previous encounter with Duo (who was disguised as a mummy). I will agree with you on the front that Duo's offense was the weakest of the Bigs, he had speed and he absolutely needed it.

It's a shame, cause the animation n production quality are 10/10 but it just doesn't interest me for some reason.

Everything seems lame to me, like it's supposed to be a big deal that there are giant robots fighting.

I'm more interested in character dev/arcs, I guess.

Even with Transformers you have sentient robots with individual personalities.

There's no reason to tune in. I don't need to see it again.

A corrupt Alex Rosewater wanting to use memories to have power. Watch the episode "RD" Act 13 and you will see what I mean... by far the best episode of the series.
