if you want to tangle with the greatest land Army and seaborne rifle companies on the face of the Earth, put some landing craft on Venice Beach and see what happens. Fuck the People's Liberation Army
Cannot wait to join the Greatest Branch of the military of the greatest country on Gods green earth! As soon as I graduate form Norwich University I'm in Marine Corps R.O.T.C! I plane on become a D.I baby!
Marine Cpl here the best advice for any one thinking about joining the Marines is when you train NEVER run less then 3 miles because the basic 1.5 mile test you do when you first go to Boot Camp is the shorest you will ever run.,
i fuckin hate poolees. the marine corps to me is a fucking lovehate relationship. poolees are too motarded to even want to know what theyre getting themselves into.
but what if the poolee has friends and family that are or have done their time and have and idea of how much it might suck and not be the gloryious lifestyle some presume it to be???
Talk to your local recruiter about taking a practice ASVAB and see if they can supply you with a pre-recruit training workout plan if you're interested. Ask about score requirements for specific MOS qualification. If you really want to get some experience, see if you can go join the poolees when they PT and have classes. Overall, go in there motivated and study up so you know what the hell you're talking about. The more motivated/knowledgeable you are, the more interested they'll be in you.
@devildogin2012 to have a perfect physical score in the marine corps (aka 300 pft score) you must be able to do 20 pullups, 100 situps in 2 minutes and run 3 miles in 18 minutes or less. get as close to that as possible. before you go to bootcamp i recommend a minimum of 5 pullups, 75 situps in 2 minutes, and a 22 minute 3 mile run. any worse than that bootcamp will be very unnecessarily hard for you. in you are fat lose weight and get into shape before hand.
my buddy just graduated from MCRD Parris Island, he said "for starters" if you can execute 20-25 push-ups you don't need to sweat the small stuff, running/humping before you leave with weight will work. His recommendations for push-ups are 25 plus, pull-ups 5 or more, and don't worry how fast you can run but make sure you can execute a 3mile run without having to fight for your life. Mountain climbers and the daily 16 if you can find the PDF for it, let me know if any questions i can ask him
@devildogin2012 Im currently in the Delay Entry Program (DEP) recommendation for bootcamp is: 3 pullups (but more is better), 55 crunches in under 2 minutes, and running a mile and a half in under 13 minutes.
@devildogin2012 for a male it's 3 pull ups push ups aren't included in it to ship to basic, gotta run the 1.5 mile in 13 min or less and do at least 50 sit ups i think don't quote me on the sit ups it's been a while lol but i do believe it's around there......
So lucky i have to wait till July 7th. Just got my 20 pullups 100 crunches and my mile and half in 9:10. Lol can't wait to go and hopefully earn the title of United States Marine.
for all the new recruits thats about to join, a word of advice stay Motivated.. I was in for three years now and if you gonna make it thru my Corp, stay Motivated..
If you are looking for a new life and you have the will to endure core values such as honor , courage, and commitment, and are willing to endure extreme conditions then go see the man in the blue suit with the white cover with the gold eagle , globe and anchor in the center and he will surely show you a new way to live. SEMPER FI.
If u are a badass, want to see full action and change the part of your life to the most interesting part then USMC infantry will fit u. but it is your choice, talk to a recruiter.
would like to join the USMC, too bad that im not a US citizen, thats why im joining the Spanish Legion, closest thing i can get to with my nationality.

If any of you want to become a Marine one day or are in the DEP, there is a link on my profile page and it goes to a web site for FUTURE MARINES.
It is filled with plenty of good honest info that you should read through before you enlist or ship out to boot camp.
