  • So sad, the picture at 1:56. I wish Klaus really did live to see the 21st century.

  • ='(

  • Fucking shit Aids. Fuck Planet..Great Klaus.

  • This song really shows just how fragile, sweet and gentle he was. It is a tragedy that one so beautiful and kind died alone, painfully and at such a young age; while gluttonous abominations like Rush Limbaugh mock him, and anyone else who dares to be happy.

  • uno de los mejores de su epoca, unico, un marciano

  • Now here is a man that did what he wanted, and from that he gave us who he was .For that alone, he is truly amazing!

    We miss you Nomi!

  • @80glamdering I just found out about him and was blown away i almost cried after reading up on him. yes a truly amazing man.

  • The dad of flint from the prodigy

  • Good night, sweet prince.

  • Well, for what it's worth. It just brought tears to my eyes. I really miss him. I wish I could have been there for him at the end of his life. I can't bear to think of him dying alone in a NY hospital room. And now I'm really crying...

  • d i v n oooo

  • Klaus Nomi didn't die of AIDS, he and Freddie Mercury were simply too amazing to be contained by this mere solar system.

  • @Genkimark

ummm they both died of AIDS.

  • @skyjuiceification lol, ever heard of irony??

  • Holy crap this dude was way ahead of his time

  • wow, this is sooooo beautiful! Why have I not heard of him before.

  • I could listen to this on loop for the rest of my life. It is one of those chill inducing songs. Like floating on a river of liquid valium.

  • Soud is better in 240p

  • Thank you Nomi, for all the music you gave us, before you went home.

  • What do you think about Rozz Williams?

  • Thank God for people like Klaus Nomi

  • freak and androgen

  • 17 personnes ne comprennent rien à l'art vocal, à l'originalité et à la personnalité dont était maître K.NOMI .. forcément avec toutes les médiocrités que l'on entend à l'heure actuelle, rien n'est fait pour s'arranger :/

  • KLAUS NOMI THE MASTER OF THE MASTERS

  • I can't stop listening to this beautiful piece of music. Za-bakdaz!!!!!

  • When one time there's a movie about Klaus' life, I'd suggest Michael Emerson ("Lost", Benjamin Linus) for the main role -- watch at the similarity of both faces...

  • Nach all den Jahren das hier zu entdecken... musste weinen... Klaus, wenn Du von da oben mithörst: wir vergessen Dich nicht.

  • Klaus live with all the beauty and Glory of the Heavens.

  • ****i love Klaus

  • ..quel est donc ce frisson qui me coule le long de la colonne vertébrale .. ^^'

    R.I.P Klaus Nomi ..

  • what a heavenly song d((-_-))b

you are an angel my sweet nomi !!!

  • I've been a fan of his opera work for some time, but this song has gotten under my skin and I must say that is song is in my soul. I just order the Za Bakdaz CD and I can't wait to get it, otherwise I might be on youtube forever.

  • Can't get enough of this song or of Klaus. Only found out about him in May! Shame I wasn't aware of him while he was alive. He would have done many great things by this point in his llife, I'm sure. bittersweet

  • look at these fragile eyes!

  • I like opera and pop rock , he successfully blend the two genres to together...

  • This is the first time I've heard this song, and it's very pretty and sweet.

  • great song!!

  • Pure love

  • What a genious song.... absolutly amazin. Love Nomi. <3

  • Damn. Is it just me, or does this sound just a TAD BIT like Big Star?

  • HiStoriK Song!

  • bellísimo

  • Klaatu barada nikto.

  • What a wounderful atmosphere! Im so deeply impressed and cant get this song out of my mind --- we have to be thankful for true art which cant be logically explained.

  • It is a shame that a talent like this man had to leave so quickly. Who knows what could have been?

  • @ckrisk et al:

Well about the only surefire accurate answer is that a thriving Nomi's 80s projects may

have related to closely to the aesthetic activities of his friends my old band

STRANGE PARTY ['the best party band in NY' at its festivest era] oh the stories we could tell],

many of whose images & songs are being uploaded just this month at my y-t page; so ...let some fun begin

  • what a beautiful comment FatherCornWallis stunning I breathe deeply and with relief thank you for your heart

  • he didnt die. he went back to his home planet.

  • @RadRocker9

    Way too believable :) <3

  • @RadRocker9 I wish he finished his grand opus before he left though....

  • @RadRocker9

he's landing now, on planet hell lol ;)

  • @RadRocker9 Awe, what a wonderful thing to say!

  • @RadRocker9 Fuck we hope..

  • @RadRocker9 Your comment an be the best comment I've ever seen. Really, you're very poetic :)

  • Ask yourself-- what do leprechauns like?

Joey improvised: 'Cha-cha the memory of a green leprechaun who loves dragonflies' [the full line was edited for children's ears]

  • @okeyeye Thanks! Though now I am compelled to wonder what the rest of the line was :O

  • Aw so beautiful. Like welcoming these beautiful fragile aliens to earth

  • im scared, this fucked my mind and he reminds me of gary numan :L hes good tho

  • this shit is fucked up.....

  • Ahhh. Perfection.

I must say, what are those Voices from? They sound like cartoons :")

Oh dear, this song does make me cry :/

Rip Klaus my dear, we miss you-3

  • @GuillotineGirl6663

those voices belong to Tony and Joey, Klaus' good pals

and members of STRANGE PARTY. The are lifelong friends like Page & me

and were great at 'ragging' ie--showy improvised mad comedic putdowns, during that era

[some tape-speed tweaks help cartoonify also]. This tune does have a weepy-chilling effect; one hopes David "Aint there one damn song that can make me ...?" Bowie notes!]

  • 'playing the dozens' is the term, not ragging

  • @okeyeye Okay, okeyeye, I will not even try to guess how many times I have listened to this highly pleasurable love note of a song. Still I cannot figure out what that final voice is saying, " ??? a green leprechaun who ?????" Help?

  • exquisito

  • this is 1000 times better than lady gaga

  • David Bowie used him and a friend as backup singers on SNS in the mid 70's.

    Klaus Nomi was beautiful.

  • I am ashamed of myself, i thought lady gaga was ummm "different"

  • @CrimsonTearedAngel but he was ummm - an artist

  • @staspunk1989 all i said he was different, which you can really not deny

  • @CrimsonTearedAngel lalalalala - of course ! that was so bizarre for that time - but this is a real art

  • I had the chance to spend the evening with him and friends after a concert in Germany in maybe 1980 (+), a truly stunning if kind of haunted person, impressive! Was one of my favorite singers in the early 80s (did not like his really weird stuff so much, but e.g. "cold song" or avantgarde covers like "falling in love again", we used his music (from tape recorders! if anybody remembers what that was) for aerobatics background music.

  • @silento46 Fascinating experience...

  • wow how did i not know this guy had existed?...you tubers find the most mad genius ubber cool things. thanks for posting this.

  • Class :) . x

  • Wow, this is beautiful. Never heard of the guy before, glad I finally found him.

  • BEST VALENTINES DAY VIDEO!

    watch?v=bvx95WxtLkY

  • its such a shame that he passed, he was a true genius, so ahead of his time, one can only imagine the things he had in store for us all...

  • when was he born?

  • Tak už konečně vím co a kdo inspirovalo Necrocka a jeho báječný Prázdniny.

  • how could i have never known Klaus Nomi until now ?

    this is mesmerizing !

  • A lot of his gay "friends"turn their back on him too, when he was sick and dying. Ignorance knows no borders

  • i miss you so much :(

  • i fucking miss you so much :(

  • klaus nomi puzzles me. i used to think he was a weirdo. i still think hes weird, but in a good way. some of his music (like this song) i find to be very beautiful and psychedelic. some of his other stuff (like Lightning Strikes) scares the crap out of me. Overall, he's a pretty cool dude.

  • Just beautiful _ I am presently working on a dance/theatre production about the life of Klaus Nomi. Love his voice, he was so special and the world is a sadder place without his beautiful presence.

  • Amazing guy. Died on the eve of his move to international glory. Life is way often so unfair. RIP.

  • 1:53 "KLAUS NOMI IN THE 21st CENTURY!" ... that's a fact!

  • Se adelanto a su epoca, y casi 30 años despues de su desaparicion no ha habido nadie capaz de igualarle...

  • love the break at 1:30...turned on alot of people to this recently...

  • I love it - he was fantastic! :-)

  • Demaciado futurista para su epoca... Klaus Nomi fuiste un genio!

  • The movie is call NOMI SONG-------------it is a must see for any Klaus Nomi fan. I have played this DVD a thousand times....................miss you Klaus!

  • @diamondsister1 where can you get it?

  • If I had to describe a field of brilliantly colored tulips to a blind person, I would play them this song.

  • @FatherCornwallis god - what a beautiful idea!!

  • They should make a movie about this guy

  • @Preliator0 there is a movie, the nomi song on blockbuster

to the homophobes he WAS gay and he is after you in your sleep

  • @goaltender5 I'm not a homophobe, but I wish he was after me in my sleep or anywhere.

    You are sadly missed Klaus.

  • This is a awesome track, reminds me of a Juan Son song. Check him out also.

  • It's weird, can't think of another adjective to describe this music, but very beautiful and addictive.

  • this song is great...who cares what he was...too bad we didn't get to hear the rest of the stuff in his head...

  • I remeber him from the early 80's. Is he still alive? And if he is. What ever happenned to him? I liked his albums.

  • @sixstringfender Unfortunately, this brilliant visionary was on the very celebrities/public figures in history to die of AIDS. He passed away on August 6, 1983 at New York City's Sloan Kettering Hospital. 1983--how bizarre, because when I think of all the things this disease has done to the human race since that point to the world we live in, it makes me very sad.

  • @TUBEFANNYC Even sadder, he died alone, due to the lack of factual information about AIDS/HIV back then. The media (and president Reagan) ignored the disease until it reached epidemic proportions which only served to fuel rumors, speculation and hysteria (many ppl believed it could be contracted via casual contact). Lady Di was one of the first public figure to hug an AIDS patient. They called it "the gay plague"/"gay cancer", etc. until finally settling on acquired immune deficiency syndrome

  • amazing....he was not only a great singer, but also a great composer . K. Nomi is one of the finest pop artist ever

  • what a beautiful voice... :)

  • this guy was on venture brothers as david bowie's underling

  • I like that last pic of him at 2:41 , I just found this guy, never new who he was until now, I lOVE HIM!!

  • insanely great.. thanks for posting.. thought i'd never have anything new from Klaus .. this is magic.. thank you!

  • Amazing singing. Thanks for posting this video. Klaus Nomi will always be avant-garde.

  • I love this song ; wonderful always, thank you so much Herr Klaus !

  • Klaus was multitalented

    A real performance artists

  • Klaus was a genius. Sadly missed.

  • this is beautiful piece of psychedelica. I thought about the end result of life and wild montains. Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsburg were there. I'll sen d this out to my six friends and lovers who od'd

  • L'un genie!

  • Sounds a bit like Knockin' On Heaven's Door... cool

  • I kind of like it. I'm such a freak. -.-

  • @samandy1110

Means you have great tastes in music and your true side is showing. ;)

  • @SnjKakashiSensei That's a sweet way of putting it. Well, i've always been kind of a freak anyway. Might as well embrace it! I really do like it though. It's so simple, and it actually makes sense. Not to mention how much talent was put into this.

  • Saw him live at Brixton Academy in the 80's,he was just spell binding

  • I just can't get enough of his music, sadly no one even comes close to his genious in modern times IMO.

  • God, I remember being fascinated by him when I was 17.... R.I.P. Klaus.

  • oh god, I don't normally cry whenever i think about celebrities dying and stuff, but when i heard this song, i couldnt help it. :'(

Now i can't listen to this song without crying.

    RIP

  • @LaQuishmia Oh my God, me too.

  • @beatrisk D: !!

  • 1:29- for some reason, he looks like chairman Mao.

  • So beautiful

  • oh my goodness. being an opera punk singer this is a constant insperation to me. THIS GIVES ME HOPE! IT REALLY IS POSIBBLE. I AM NOT ALONE!

  • he had the voice of a space-angel : (

  • Just in the mood "way old"

  • sometimes he looks like jay gordon from orgy

  • Christ. Eyes always water...

  • just discovered this awesome person yesterday.

    damn I am really impressed.

how the hell did I miss this in the 80's ?! :s

  • @Toadsandbones

MTV was spreading crap like madonna and a lot of fly-by-night bands like Kajagoogoo (who I happened to like the one song I heard, but they disappeared fast).

  • From his unfinished work ZA BAKDAZ. RIP Klaus. Miss you madly.

  • venture brothers haha

    ...... anyone?

  • @pulkes89 yeah, thats who they were going for...good one, heres a cookie

  • @pulkes89 "We all know it's you, Bowie."

  • wow, this is beautiful.... i just discover Klaus!

  • wouaoww... exellent i love

  • stunning

  • Lyrics?

  • I only started appreciating Klaus a few years back, even though I grew up in the 80's. His passing was too soon and the World wasn't ready for him. I love his music.

  • j aime trop

  • Agreed, I think I would have loved his company. What a beautiful, beautiful man

  • What a great graphic near the end.

  • Klaus Nomi was awesome. Such a unique individual' wish I could have met him.

  • What is he saying? can't understand quite well.

  • If the Bride of Frankenstein (ala Elsa Lanchester) and the Mayor of the Munchkin city had a child, it would be Klaus Nomi.

  • @carlsetzer ..we have a winner...lol...

  • what an angel?

  • This is utterly fascinating. It is so sad he had to leave us before this work was finished. I read that it was supposed to be some kind of futuristic western-opera.

  • to beautiful for words

  • So, melancholy, funny, lonely, beautiful, like his life, like mine.
