This is easy why he did it for everyone who doesnt understand. After a while of wielding a corrupt weapon it degrades. Once it starts to degrade YOU CAN NOT SELL IT. So what you do is time how long you have used it for and when you get down to a couple of minutes left you high alch it instead of letting it dissappear. So actually its a smart move
