@sadismminds It's just a piece that a couple of the musicians here at the store put together to demo the bass over top of. I think we used it in some of the guitar demos as well
To me the musician playing Geddys' bass would appear to be a guitar player and not a bassist. Not that it matters (well to me or I wouldn't post this LOL). Thanks everyone I feel better for that.
I recently purchased a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass from someone on craigslist! I was skeptical at first, having already in my posession, an American-made J Bass. I didn't think there would be much comparison, but it was a must-have item (being a Rush fan for 28 yrs.) I must say...the two instruments sound & play like two different animals. I am very satisfied picking this bass up for $600.00. Well worth it!!!
once when I was 12 I had a pappy who threw them cherry bombs at my momma and I caught me one. I have a couple stubs left and anywho I like dis here rocker bass cuz its smooth like silk. nice on the nubs and they dont bleed as much.
I think this was my bass by the way, as I bought it from you guys around november 2008. Turns out that the pickups had a connection issue inside, the base of the electronics was loosing half of its volume. Now that it's fixed, this thing is so freaking nice and loud. I recommend Morrell Music no matter what, it's not your fault that the bass had an issue.
If you guys have ever studied Neil's lyrics, you know where his influences in objectivism come from. I'm no disciple of anyone, but I'm running a congressional campaign that will be based on those same philosophies. I'd be much obliged if you'd all critique my video's for my campaign.
PS I also put a few of my old guitar solo's in there for you.
@MachMalWas lol i hate wen im gona comment something and i think "this is gona get highest rated" but then the same comment is already in the highest rated
Dude...I thought I was the only one until I viewed these comments....I could barely see them through the tears of laughter though.....I bet Geddy Lee's slapping his thigh somewhere out there, too. :')
i have a geddy lee and it is a glorious bass to blas. the neck is amazing! the tone is truly singular. ive recently played other basses but i cant get over the way the necks always feel
i own this bass, it absolutely rocks to play, i cant get over how sick the neck is. no fender will ever play as easily as this one, no matter how much it costs, because the neck is one of a kind.
hey everyone, i have a question: i love geddy lee, paul mccartney, flea and many other awesome bassists. i would love to buy a bass, but i'm afraid that my friends would tell me stuff, like bass is for idiots, and such. i have a guitar, and i like it, but i also love the easyness and the epicness of bass. should i get a bass guitar?
your friend would just be ignorant to tell you that, because bass is just as complex as guitar it just bepends how much time you're willing to put into playing it. go for it if you want one, I play bass and love it
yes! get a bass guitar! it's just as complex as guitar and it's a lot more fun I think ( I play guitar and bass)they sound great if you get with active pick ups and a nice amp cabinet with an amp head. but you know small amps work too. haha. get a bass
soudesune20 you need to learn to think for yourself and stop being ruled like a mindless lamb. Think for yourself and stop being a copy cat version of everyone else. Let me tell you something music is about fun, it's not about who is better then another person, that kind of thinking is for immature kids. There are bass players out there that will make some guitar players look like amateurs. Some bass players can do on 4 strings what some guitar players can't do on 6. Think for yourself.
IMO: Guitar is harder to learn; easier to master. Bass is easier to learn; harder to master! World class bass lines did not originate from dummies who just placed their fingers on some frets. Most people can identify a song because of the bass line. Take the bass and drums out of the band and you have doodoo. Few popular songs have made it w/out a bassline -- Princes' Purple Rain is the only one I can think of. If you want to learn the bass, why care what your moronic friends say?
@pamt726 It's true that any decent guitarist can play simple pattens on the bass and make standard rhythms that you hear in most music. When you look at playing at the top on both, it's a different story completely. Playings portions of scales legato or even say minor arpeggios beyond the chromatic octave of the open strings is a standard practice for a guitarist, it's an serious advanced skill set for the bassist (Buzz). Also, things like harmonics are more difficult on bass.
low action is a setting where u adjust the string height as close as possible to the frets.this results in a relatively easy to fret bass guitar with lots of string buzz.
Great bass - lovely low action, stays in tune really well despite temp differences and has a punchy sound. Worth every penny - grab one while you can! A future classic I think. Drop D tuning takes it from Mean to Lethal!
what a bass... I bought one last year!! Use it for gigs!! sounds brilliant and has the lowest action ive ever come across!! Rock on all Fender Players!
