Hey Mike, what is "casing"? Looking for it on the internet, can't seem to find it. We're doing a student project on wind turbines here in Glasgow, just wondering if you could help us out.
@HarryHutton92 - Casing is molding material used to finish around doors, windows and where the wall meets up to the floor. The stuff being used in the video looks to be the thinner window trim molding. Good luck.
Very nice video Mike, I am a retired 32 year professional cabinetmaker. Not trying to be critical but this L P Products item is called "base", not "casing". The #6106 is correct. LP's website says it is available at Lowes but I was not able to find it at our local Lowes store. Your instructions are very good and thorough. I am going to build one per your recomendations very soon.
@vicrammx Victor, do you have a Home Depot or Lowes there in Mexico? They can order this material for you. Or try whatever hardware supplier you have. Check and see if they can order from this company. ( LP products casing # 6106 is what my demo turbine is using). If not you can try Balsa wood and do a little sanding the wing shape. Also, before you start make sure you are in a good wind area. Good luck with your project.
I cut this product all the time with a miter saw. use a finish blade and a dust mask. it can be found at lowes, home depot and most hardware stores. Great idea!
Hi Mike, what is the casing material you have built the turbine out of used for and could you give me the full address for the firm that sells it please, thank you, Doc Cox
Hi there, a very interesting video, does the material come with that aerofoil cross section or do you need to do any profiling manually on it, looks like one of the most efficient vawt,s I have seen yet, looks as if by making a larger version even more power could be obtained from it, was also surprised to see it woul turn that alternator, thanks for the info regards Doc Cox

Thanks for taking the time to go into detail on this. It's all the little details that really hold people up from finishing their project.
