  • this band needs a wikipedia! anyone with good knowledge of them outta get on that! i know nothing about these guys except that they are teh SHEET

the singing at 1:18 - I have never heard ANYTHING like that. this band is so cool

  • You wanna hear the best sining ever then you got to listen to Greg Walker on Santana's Moonflower CD. Check out the song "Transcendance". The vocal reach on that song is unbelievable. He matches the top high notes in his vocals to Carlos Santana's guitar lead. Almost can't tell the differance where the vocals leave off into the guitar leads.

  • @lonaticc Thanks, a similar unique singer is "Shankar", he toured with Peter Gabriel a while back. (Secret World)

    Brilliant!!

  • Screaming Headless Torsos 1996. This is Fuze on guitar, myself on vocals, Gene Lake on drums, Fima Ephrom on bass (where is he?), and Danny Sadownick.

  • You on vocals eh? Please don't feel offended if i call bullshit :)

  • no offense taken.

  • your vocals are amazing

  • professional musicians dont go on youtube?

  • I guess Steely Dan are unprofessional??????

  • you use question marks. but you cant read them. interesting. must be a complete fucking idiot.

  • you dont know shit. shut the fuck up and go comment on a paris hilton video.

  • Whoa there sir, your right I don't know but it's highly unlikely. I've seen the guy comment before. Either he talks in third person sometimes, or he's full of shit. And why the fuck would i comment on some video of a chick made famous because her dad is rich? Maybe you should shut the fuck up and grab a bucket for all that sand in your vagina.

  • if you really are dean bowman, what the hell got into you writing comments like you do on every fucking torso video on youtube.

what the fuck is your problem???

  • why can't I comment on my own work?

  • you still sell those hot pick t shirts? i remember seeing those of a website.

  • not sure but check back

  • my, my, my...Dean Bowman (aka Wailflower), you must have a lot of time on your hands to post all those unqualified remarks all over Youtube. Does anyone else notice that you're whining about things that happened over 13 years ago!?!?Anyway, the band sounds great! Let it go, bro. If you really want to get mad maybe you should get mad at your wardrobe in this video. I always wanted ask you, what's up with the Footlocker outfit? lookin for a job?

  • @dfiuczynski Does anyone notice there is a percussionist between the singer and the bass player? I only noticed it earlier this year watching on youtube. And good. You still got jokes.

  • Dean (aka Wailflower), we did about 6 hours of sound check, you were there, no one's going to believe it took you 13 years to catch on to the stage set up. you're complaining about nothing, get a life.....

  • @dfiuczynski But since you are here, why did you put a percussionist between the singer and the bass player?

  • @wailflower: that was an engineering decision, keep in mind, this was not just a gig, but a live recording and as far as i recall, the engineers wanted it that way for sound reasons.

  • @dfiuczynski The record is exactly why for sound reasons it's probably not better for the singer to sing with two drummers behind him.

  • @wailflower (aka Dean Bowman).....sorry Dean, won't let you off the hook...you can try and dream up all the lame excuses you want to so you can complain.....you've got nothing. the record sounds great, let it go.

  • @dfiuczynski You make excuses. I make music. For the record you ain't got no hook that I am on. BTW, your passing the buck to the sound man doesn't explain Nancy, Paris, or all the other gigs I have two drummer behind me without separation. You hate dealing with facts. So you call them complaints.

  • Comment removed

  • @wailflower (aka Dean Bowman) part 1. don't get mad, Dean. you brought this on yourself with your petty and baseless accusations. I'm glad this is a public discussion. Now everyone can see the real facts. fact 1: you don't respond to reason. fact 2: the Live CD sounds great, in part because of the set up. fact 3: why should i pass the buck for something that sounds great. I wish i could take credit for the set up, but i would never have come up with it myself.

  • @dfiuczynski Luze, you know i am not angry about a soft bully (you) or your pet percussionist. And BTW, if I agree with you, would that make you a nicer person?

  • @wailflower (aka Dean Bowman) part 2, more facts: fact 4: you don't even know the difference between a drummer and a percussionist. fact 5: you're turning into a sad little old man who wants be angry and will look for the flimsiest of excuses to be angry. fact 6: the percussionist is killin!!!

  • @dfiuczynski Yeah Luze, you're right. I don't know the difference between a pet percussionist and a professional drummer like Gene Lake. And you are not becoming---you have always been---a sad pathetic bully who can't bully anyone but guitar students.

  • @Wailflower (aka Dean Bowman): Daniel Sadownick is one of the finest percussionists out there. But for some reason Dean Bowman thinks his opinion outranks all the many great musicians that Mr Sadownick has worked with: The Roots, Al Green, Dennis Chambers, Nicholas Payton, Christian McBride, Michael Brecker, Ron Carter and many more. 'nuff said.

  • @dfiuczynski Luze, you are welcome to the last word.

  • thought i'd just butt in here! I personally think the percussionist playin here is top class, brings a whole lot of flavour and dynamic to the band.... I'd also like to thank both of you for making the music that i only found out about the other week, its what i've been searching for, took about 3 years! peace

  • @martinmedeski Just saw this comment. It is not abt the percussionist or what he adds. He is there bc the guitar loser cannot take credit for the singing, so he makes it harder to do, that's all

  • WHO IS THAT DRUMMER ????

  • Jane Lake is the drummer

  • you'll have to excuse my friend, its not Jane Lake, its Gene Lake. Oliver Gene Lake.

You can also check him on an album called Lunar Crush which features John Medeski and Dave Fuczinsky - both he and Jojo Mayer are on that album. He also played with that bad-ass bass player Me'shell Ndegeocelo.

  • thanks vry much

  • ...and with Steve Coleman as a member of the Five Elements from" The Tao of Mad Phat"(1993,my fav) to "Genesis& the opening way"(1997) I've seen him live with Me'shell back in 96 in Paris,he's a terrific musician... 8)

  • Right! I forgot about his stint with Steve Coleman. I've got to check out that album you mentioned cuz I only have a bootleg live recording - not the best quality but Lake was killin that night.

    Totally underrated drummer....

  • thats a cool percussion solo

  • the singing around 1:17 and again at 2:50 .....that shite was sweet! i can't think of any other instance of anyone singing anywhere close to something like that....I didn't even know you could do that!

    Learn how! Amazing your friends!

  • Do you pray? Losing is a habit that can be broken

  • Why is the percussionist between the singer and the bass player? The guitar player is sad. What is with the trip with that sad non-factor. The percussionist is an asshole. Torsos suck. Grow up. Get over it!

  • You clearly have no friends if you spend all day on youtube crying about this kind of shit, you should probably just go and kill yourself, it's pretty obvious people are incapable of liking you.

  • Get a grip, groupie. No lives were lost in the making of this music. Just music lost.

  • Hahaha, kill yourself.

Or better yet, give me your address.

  • Brother, I am so sorry you feel that way. Wow. Can't even poke fun at a friend without someone you don't even know calling themselves out of their own bigotry. Please don't respond to me ever again without an apology for insulting nine-tenths of the population of the world.

  • Such a dumb nigger.

    Keep it up faggot.

  • Why do you come on here and talk a bunch of shit??? Someone(you) not getting any pussy lately?

    I can see why!!!

  • Oh, wait... he was talking shit about SHT... now I know why he's dumb.

But, still, the N-bomb is unnecessary.

  • You were right the first time. Wrong about who's dumb, dude.

  • Because it's so easy to troll morons like you!

  • Tilaron your a miserable agressive little bastard! Seen you on a bill bailey video trying to take the piss out of someone too. Your a wee shite!

  • Learn how to spell and stop stalking me you fatass. Get a life, stop trying to take mine!

  • Hahaha fatass! Brilliant! Ah the youtube classic "learn how to spell... [then you can argue with me]". So your life involves being a miserable dick and acting like a hardman on youtube. Not the life for me my friend...

    Cockgobbler!

  • Who are you trying to fool? You're clearly this "hardman" you speak of.

Nice try though you silly little fag.

  • Nah im no hardman, this attack is for the greater good. You're the first person i've called a dick on youtube because i think you genuinely deserve it. You're picking on loads of people so i thought i come on and let you know that you are a genuine ballsack!

  • Hahaha, raged.

  • You are a chronic gay! You have impulsive bumming disorder!

  • rofl, what are you, 12?

    Hahahahaha.

  • That's some creative insults right there my friend! Top shelf! ha. Whereas as your 8 year old arsenal consists of "fag" and "fatass"... poor! You're no match for me!

  • Hahahaha, raged. "Whereas as" rofl, dumbass.

  • You're repeating yourself now. "raged" and the ever hurtful 'picking up on a grammatical error' insult. Honestly Tilaron you're shite at this game. You're the most typical youtube tosser ever! Boring cunt!

  • Hahaha, you don't understand it at all do you? You stupid thick fuck. You're being trolled. Every time you reply, you lose.

Keep it up you dumb nigger.

  • probably because the stage was not so large .... Fuze is sad as Fripp facial expression seems happy: could you ever say that? what is the problem

  • Fuze sits by himself on one side of the stage, and the rest crowd on the other side, the percussionist right where the bass player should be (why don't they switch?) and the singer can barely hear himself. There's plenty of room on stage.

  • that was fun. thanks for sharing.

  • one of the best bands since the Mahavishnu Orchestra

  • L O L ! ! !

  • wuuuw ke subidon

  • Oh yeah!!!

  • Awesome.

  • Looks like the singer just finished his shift at the Foot Locker. lol

  • is that a tom anderson guitar?

  • Sure is, although he's been playing Campbell American Precix more recently.

  • i'm gonna have to look those up now. his tone is awesome.

  • incredible

  • Excelent!

  • Da** straight, frootiloopi...GENE Freekin' LAKE on da skins!

  • ...so...you're an idiot.

  • Flashing back to grade 10...I meditated on this album every day. SHT lasted, what, maybe 3 years? Rolling Stones? Still fucking touring. Why can't the world reward both the mediocre and then exceptional?

    SHT...RIP.

  • One is led by the guitar player the other is not

  • It's Les Claypool from 1:33 to 1:48!

  • I'm guessing that you're referring to the voice of Tommy the Cat from the song "Tommy the Cat" by Primus - which is in fact sung by Tom Waits, not Les Claypool :)

  • Yeah, you're right! I knew it was from a Primus song, but I didn't remember which. Thanks for reminding me of Tom Wiats ;) I just realized I need to get some of his stuff.

  • Stupendi...superiori. ++++++ che sound. Spero di vederli presto in italia!!

  • me los perdí en madrid, no me lo perdono!

    acojonantes

  • oohhh that's really awesome :D

  • Great band and the drummer is f%&$&&&%$ incredible .

  • gene fuckin lake

  • what the hell is that tone called, that the guitarist uses in the solo around 3:25 till 3:29, i must have a pedal for that, fucking sick

  • He uses a SoundTech Whammy II pedal. Shame they don´t build it anymore.

  • how comes i cant download any of these songs!?

  • great sooonngg!!

  • mmmmmm... sencillamente, INCREIBLEEEE!!!!

  • do anybody have the mtv video of this song?? tnks :)

  • mtv ?! Are you kidding ? As if mtv would show something like this, dream on...

  • YES!!! there was a video of this song... a white set, multiple cameras, great video :)

  • true, a videoclip for Vinnie was really made, but it is very very rare to find, also on peer to peer.

i have a low quality fragment of it.

  • plese uplode it :D tnks :)

  • muy bueno !!!

  • funky fresco

  • one of the more massive percussion sets I've seen

  • Mitici!...che figata!! possibile che qui in Italia circoli così poco questo genere fantastico!
