Considering there is only muscle to lose. If there is fat on the body, that is the first to deteriorate. This also doesn't factor in that it's a short term diet, so something like lack of protein isn't as significant as if it were a longer diet.
Do you have to use maple syrup? or can you substitute honey? is the syrup just for sweetness?
