  • People can find a way to argue over ANY topic under the sun. Couldn't this all just be tested anyway? Make a series of swords with different styles, and crafting techniques. Then go out and test them in a way a combat swords would be used.

  • All of you bashing this guy in my opinion are losers with nothing better to do but type long winded hate posts on youtube.Go read a fucking book kids.

  • Reminds me of eragon

  • "Tameshigiri" is not an 'ancient' martial art. Tameshigiri is part of multiple JAPANESE martial arts, but it in itself, is not.

  • There is no such thing as a super steel. It's all bullshit. Besides that let's get real people. I'm a swordsmith and a damn good one I know the katana is certainly not the best sword. Infact..there is no best sword. Every sword has a certain function design. It's all about the chemistry of the blade and how the heat treating process is done. The best swordsmith NEVER use cryo for their swords.

  • @XcomTitan1985 Jim Hrisoulas is considered an authority in his field (bladesmithing). He has published various books on the art of bladesmithing. In his book the "Art of Bladesmithing" he talks about cryogenic treatment of blades to gain additional strength by further refinement of the molecular structure of the steel. Cryogenic treatment has also been used by multiple bladesmiths such as Wayne Goodard. I would be reluctant to state that the best bladesmiths do not used cryogenic treatments.

  • @XcomTitan1985 look at this guys youtube page he is a college student he hasn't even gotten a job he is bluffer alright sometimes you have to use modern machinery when you want high class swords!

  • Considering the time, work and equipment used to make this i would say the price is logical.

  • the sword is very nice but it cost 22 000 $ ... i wouldn't pay that mutch

  • Cryogenically treating a blade is a good concept, but I have yet o see the importance of it. There was a company called Last Legend who sold thousands of "cryo treated blades". They went out of business. The blade is only half the equasion. The swordsman is the other. I have yet to see top katana smiths cryo treat a blade. JMO But I know Howard Clark does not, Rick Barrett does not Mr Sorrells does not , James Raw does not. A. Dicristofano does not and these are top american smiths. cryo=gimmick

  • i still say the Katana is still better and always will be

  • maybe what the price-conscious ones are asking is "does a sword as a weapon really get that expensive?" see, swords in battle or even practice chip and break. i don;t know of any broad sword-type (katana or european 'dos manos') that can stand a full-force edge-to-edge clash wit another sword. ask any kendo practitioner. swords are rarely clashed. clash your brand-new custom katana with another one edge-to-edge and you just threw away $10,000.

  • this video remind me of my game.but sadly this year not much people use sword they but and only collect it not use it very much.

  • how do you justify charging someone 20,000 bucks for a sword? just get one battle ready from cold steel for 500 bucks.

  • @ildeliso It's all about the materials that go into it 20k is for a very large sword with a lot of ornamental and expensive components.

Also the amount of labor involved should be considered. These pieces are each one of a kind, not a model number.

Aside from that Coldsteel doesn't give a lifetime warranty on their products.

Many high caliber smiths charge top dollar for their products, especially those out of Japan. Those will run even higher prices

  • watson's a bitch!

  • @gocartking

lol - you have to explain why...

  • @qalest

ask anyone in the bizz, they all know he's a shlub and his blades are a joke!

  • @gocartking Why dis the man here. In your opinion they may well be but wothout and proof he is as good as anyone else. Just remember you cannot please everyone. Also remember the joke about one goat? If you dont know it look it up.

  • @gocartking who is watson

  • Any one know how hot that fire was to get that steel to be hammered into shape?

  • supersteel is a mix of soft hard nikkel tool steel and spring steel.

  • @niksechtniks That is what most people would suspect. What you are describing is the pattern welded steel that many people call damascus. If done correctly it does make a tougher and keener blade. If done improperly it can delaminate. Dan's steel does not start as two different steels forge welded together. Dan is manipulating the molecular structure within the steel. There is an independent study on one of his blades that he post on his website. It goes into greater detail.

  • @mlkendall6529 yes you right

  • The name of the Daniel's forge is called Angel Sword. I currently have three of his blades and they are definitely made to be used. His stuff is expensive, but it is worth it. Also, he has a trade up program so you can work your way up to the higher dollars pieces.

  • The guy that made the super steel sword does he have some way to contact him by email or something? Im just curious to know because his swords look very powerful.

  • Sorry Keycore I thought I put a reply on here about the maker. Thankyou Milkendall6529 for your reply. Sorry I stuffed up.

  • I realized seeing that after the video and i apologize for asking what was in my comment without thinking. My apologies.

  • @keycore Angel Sword.
