... a time machine will solve all of my problems. No more shitty music, no more economic depression, no more stupid fucking dumb-asses that are famous for nothing, and finally i get to live in the era of free love, disco, early rock and rock, and Afro's... (exhale) yeah
@xSOUNDWAVE56x Only problem it will solve is not having to hear people's opinions ad naseum (which is what the internet does) But you still had haters back then, there were MANY people who not only hated Bowie but also Disco. In fact if you liked rock 9 times out of ten you hated disco. Look up disco record burning, people still hate as much as they do now, just wasn't a constant flux of them complaining about it.
@TheMNRN1 It's the same shit all the fucking time, Justin Beaver or Lady Gaga. No matter the music on the flick, they'll always find a way to refer those losers. Sometimes this really pisses me off, haha!
God, I love David Bowie. Why does Modern day music have to suck so bad? If they just learned a little something from the older artists listening to their shit would be so much easier, but no they choose to suck. Long live David Bowie!
BTW, I hate pop music of all kinds. VERY rarely, will something come around that is appealing to all people and of any significant quality. That's because honestly, most people are shallow emotionally, and therefore cannot appreciate the deeper flavours that are often present in less mainstream music. They also often simply want to be accepted rather than be original and themselves. So they play along. You really think a million people actually like Justin Beiber?
This is just as bad as the stuff now days. David Bowie is just the pop star of yesterday which is why you think he's so artistic and classy today. In fact.. if you want a disturbing comparison, he's really the Lady Gaga of yesterday, or rather, if it makes you feel better, Lady Gaga is the David Bowie of today. Music seems to age like fine wine. Even though without the appeal of it being "wine' most people would spit it out saying "pfft.. who would want to drink rotten grape juice??"
blah bla modern day music. yeah its shit, just ignore it don't eve ntalk about it. When we're forty odd we'll laugh at aussie idol, brit idol, american idol. we'll laugh at how bad it was. it'll come good surely. surely. David Bowie ... fucken genius
for real! you are right! i mean when you take the time to talk about how modern music is shitty its the same thing as liking it :p fuck is it that hard to ignore it :/ is it that shameful to you ppl to be different, if other ppl don't like bowie fuck them i'm proud to be different and to listen to music that most ppl wouldn't :D

David Bowie had incredible androgynous beauty and was a pioneer of the sexually ambivalent and theatrical side of pop music. In comparison Jefree Star is just a low-rent tranny
@whutuppp Thank you for your eloquent comment on my posting. FYI, I have absolutely nothing against anybody with regard to race, creed, colour or sexual orientation. What does annoy me is talentless twerps hanging onto the coat tails of those who have something original and meaningful to offer. Mr Star (who's transvestitism does not make him a transexual) is one such person.
@whutuppp Your logic is unassailable. No, hang on, it isn't after all! Tranny is merely an abbreviation for transvestite and carries no freight where I come from, unlike the word you chose to use in relation to black people. I have a friend known to all as Frank the Frock (I'll leave you to work out his psycho-sexual proclivities). He refers to himself as a tranny and I have used the word frequently in conversation with him without engendering offence. You need to get out a bit more, Whutupp.
Hes kind of like, a 70's-80's version of Jeffree Star almost. Except, he didn't sing about, glitter zombie hookers or whatever xD. and hes awesomeeeee.

@0FlyingSock0 Well if you were back before the 60's, 70's you would be listeing to what you thought was proper music. Like jazz and sonnets. People would of taking a hatred to this music as much as people disagree with the music today. Everything changes my friend, not everyone has to like it but everything will change. @0FlyingSock0 People forget that for every david bowie there were 10 Debbie Boones or Andy Gibbs. I was lucky enought to get to speak to a Member of Garry Pucket and the Union Gap a few years ago.
