He could reverse spin to the left off of almost any F and make his way right to the rim. Imo, he could've EASILY avg'd 25 a year if he wasn't so conscious about passing.

1a) MJ wasn't tested as much in the 90s as Mag/Larry were in the 80s.
1b) Not MJ's fault, he prob would've won 1 or more in the 80s w/ his 90s team, they were good enough to hang.
2a) MJ might've been better than the other two in totality
2b) If 2a is true, I still don't think the degree of sep betw. he and Mag/Larry is as big as the media portrays it.

triple doubles are way harder to get than just scoring a bunch of points.
if the nba was about 1 on 1, then jordan would be the best, but its not. jordan is too 1 dimensional

Larry Bird himself even admitted that Michael Jordan is the best of all time and he also knew that Magic was better. Larry Bird is the best Forward but not the best player. 7 point behind of jordan and bird could not play defense any where near the likes of jordan.

In this compilation, Bird and Magic both look to be better than Jordan. Bird seems more versatile given his passing skils, especially in the open floor, and superior shooting range, and Magic could dominate a game more effectively by involving his teammates with dazzling fast-break moves and precision halfcourt execution and passing. Jordan's shot was not as good as Bird's in this compilation and his highlights seem relatively pedestrian and repetitive.

Folks I love Magic johnson but he had the leading scorer of all times in his team (Kareem abdul jabar) Jordan had 4 nobodies and he's himself the 4th leading scorer of all times. Magic won 5 rings with Kareem MJ won six on his own. MJ is the best of all times followed by bird and magic

I dont agree..Magic couldve averaged 40 a game maybe but he wanted to get his team involved.Magic had nobodies too.He made AC green an all star. He made Kurt rambis a bonefied player. If they were playing for mike, MJ would just tell them to get the rebounds on his misses..Mike was GOAT as an individual..MAGIC was the GOAT of the all around game..Mike didnt make his team better..HE and pip won those titles..Magic and his team won theirs..

Actually, u can tell by their highlights..Look at magics. All his are with him incorporating his teammates. most of MJs are with him shooting..He was the ultimate winner, but he didnt get his teammated involved nearly enough..He averaged 26 shots a game..Top 5 in NBA history..His teamates averaged 2 to 3 shots a game individually...

Well Dirk is like 7"1 bird was 6"9 it is obviously much easier for dirk to get easy open shots at that height and he isn't as good as bird anyway lol. True it is harder to play defense nowdays since there's no checking in the key and anything anymore but nevertheless i still believe Bird wouldn't have been as good as he was if he played into todays leauge, no doubt he would've been good but not one of the greatest as he is supposed to be, Dirk sure isn't =P

You pretty much echoed the same criticisms Bird faced the first time he came into the league. People doubted him b/c he couldn't jump high, run fast, and doesn't have an athletic build. Which is true. But Bird is a basketball genius. If you know anything about basketball, you'd know that the mind is the most powerful weapon on the court. I think the league is much harder these days. People just believe it was harder back then becuase of the belief that the poineers that come first are always going to be the best and the only way for something to become better is to double its achivements. So basically most players are always going to be in these peoples shadows unless they are x2 better then these players. Could you imagine larry bird playing in todays athletic league?

What about Dirk Nowitzki? He seems to me like a Bird like player. I think you're confusing athleticism with physicality. I grant you that players nowadays are more athletic but that doesn't make the game more physical. Stockton for example wasn't that athletic but he was one of the most physical and toughest players in the league.

The game was esier back then....it was dominated by a handful of good players and the rest were garbage....of course their stats are gona be good...go play some scrubs and you'll win 7-0 skunk...come play me and youl look like one of the scrubs i just mentioned. People actually have to earn their points now....if magic or bird in their prime played now they would be good but they wouldnt be close to what they were..and Kobe is probably the best scorer that will ever play.

This pretty much destroyed your credibility. A clothesline in mid-air on a fastbreak back in the 80's is worth only two freethrows w/o any flagrant, ejection, suspension, or fine. Nowadays players would get a technical just by smiling from the bench (Tim Duncan). Commentators today are quick to point out that today's flagrant are just "love touches" back in the 80's.

It wasn't just Bird, Magic, and Jordan's talent, b-ball IQ, or work ethic--their will to win remains unmatched. When they said they'd win, you really believed them. A starting lineup with these three would kill everyone. Screw today's "more athletic" stars--all they know are dunks and scoring binges and they can't even defend against the pick-and-roll. My generation's been cheated of real b-ball.

No doubt, Magic and M.J as guards, forwards would be Bird and Malone(I would take Malone over Barkley, but can't argue with either one of them, and center would be Jabbar, Russell, or Chamberlain. Shaq and Hakeem round out the top 5 centers of all-time. However, you can't put Shaq and Hakeem above those other 3. Duncan might take the place of Malone and Barkley when it's all said and done !!! What do you think ??

At powerforard Barkley!! When FIT and HEALTHY (256-60 lbs) could kill Malone any day. Between 88 and 94 seasons (after being overweight or before back problems) he would score and rebound more than Malone (lets remember Charles never had Stockton the second greatest passer to feed him!).

Sir Charles at 6.4 and 260 lbs (some times 290) better offensive and defensive rebounder!, better clutch player "individually" + (all around game) triple doubles, better passer and shooter in real games and as good in defense in the clutch as any. Lets remember Rodman won pussy season rebound titles but he never won a one on one match v.s Sir Charles :)
