Fucking Game Informer gave this a 3...some very low number. Gave Warriors an 8 and I bought it and it sucks. I'm stuck with this unsellable, unplayable booty juice and have never seen a used copy of the Thing. That's why this season and maybe the next I'm not reading any reviews and getting a damn gaymfly account.
While I like Spoony and his review of this game (it's super entertaining), I will admit that this is a fairly good game, though not perfect. As Spoony said, you do encounter a ridiculous amount of fuze boxes, almost every enemy you fight is a head-crab from Half-Life, and your team members are completely retarded. That being said, this game is creepy, and I found it entertaining. I'm happy that I purchased it.

It's games like these that end up in the $5.00 bin...so much hard work was put into this game, and it's so overlooked by the majority of people. I blame the fanboys for all this mess too and telling people what's cool and popular, and I blame the fucking Game Informer Magazines giving awesome games bad ratings...so I'm going to find this game, and will take a break from Halo Reach and Mortal Kombat online.
really awesome game. a few things i didn't like was the reloading a weapon clip with ammo still in a clip made you lose ammo kinda sucked...it sure put the 'S' and 'H' in Survival Horror. They should make a sequel.
btw guys if u are having trouble here u can stand in front of the door and wait till it is in site then shhot it and when it runs over to get you u clse the door, it works every time

Considering the length of the game its one of the better value games out there. Pay little for a game with the length of an rpg but no lame side missions.

When I got this, I thought it would be scary as hell, like the film (I also agree you should see it, Teh2Dgamer. But it's pretty dull in my opinion. The shooting has an auto lock on which makes it too easy, and I think the shooting should of went to an awkward kind of style, just to fit the atmosphere. I liked the trust thing though, and when you're friends turned to mutants, it was pretty cool.
I remember this game, had a blast playing it. I always kept my squad alive, that is until I was forced to kill them after they became the thing. My only complaint would be the glitched boss battles, and certainly the lack of ambient/ suspenseful music. Oh, and that damned flamethrower always aiming at your own feet. Lol

I have seen The Thing. The movie is great and freaky as hell. Its a classic. Must watch 2D, must watch. My nephew is a fan of the movie and has the game. I should have bought this game. I still may just so I can play it. I hope its as freaky as the movie. Like I said you have to see it. I dont mean on TV either because they cut all the good stuff out.

I remember enjoying this game on PC when it came out. I remember it did freak me out back then, but probably wouldn't now. I was really hyped for this game, since they were saying that anyone at anytime could be the thing so you would always have to watch your back. Turned out it was more scripted which was disappointing. Still, it was a fun game that kept me entertained till the end. I remember the ending left me a bit confused since I hadn't seen the movie at that point.
This game takes the concept of a movie,but it's not as scary since it's preaty much action oriented.
Still it can make you nervous(in a good way)sometimes.
It has some of the movie's atmosfere.
Movie aside,it's good to very good game.
I failed to beat it, since I failed to escape no matter how many times I tried when the whole damn place goes to hell burning and you have only limited time.
The movie it's based on, is not a game. You're comparing apples to oranges here.
Just because it doesn't live up tot he movie doesn't mean that it's a "crap" game. I've played crap games, and this is far, and I mean FAR from being a crap game.

I disagree. In one scene, I remember doing a blood test on a guy, then a few steps down the hallway he turned. Also you should see the film. It's great.
Interesting to finally see this game in action; I've read some true horror stories about how the "squad mate infection" mechanic totally screwed some players. As far as I can tell from the informative video description you don't seem to have had any trouble with that, but perhaps the PC version (which is the one I've read about) is more difficult...
You NEED to watch john carpenter's the thing. One of the best movies ever made. This game is not that great and for fans of the movie, this game will REALLY disappoint.
I also second the recommendation of cold fear and the suffering. Cold fear is like RE4 but with slightly better controls. ( You can strafe!)
i must say that this game was sorely overlooked when it came out. It is definatly a must buy for any survival horror fan.

You NEED to watch john carpenter's the thing. One of the best movies ever made. This game is not that great and for fans of the movie, this game will REALLY disappoint.
