Brilliant, an artist demonstrating how influencial classical music is and how it can be re-interpreted on something like a bass.
How refreshing that the comments here are possitive and no 'classical purist' idiots have spouted their starchy - narrow minded views on such interpretations.
man i love the sound of the bass it's so soothing, i'm gonna keep practicing my ass off so that can become one of the finest bassists that the world has to offer.
And a good tone for this kind of music, too. I see a lot of players playing classical pieces on bass guitar with a modern trebly hi-fi clank tone. Granted, that sound does have it's place, but I much prefer sounds like your's. Nice smooth, bassy, and warm.
I am new to attempting this kind of stuff on the bass, are you basically improvising around dminor scale and dminor arpeggios? And also chucking in bits of a few classical pieces :)
i think it might be...ive definitely heard other people say that, tho ive never heard john frusciante say it...but just listen to it, it really is lol
ha, that was amazing. and i once heard john frusciante at a 2001 concert in paris say "this song is in d minor, the saddest keys of all" haha. is that a famous phrase or something?
Really nice man not many classical bassists around today, good ones at least would like to know what your into please send a reply your very inspiring
love your solo man finally a change from all the slap bass, nothing wrong with slap bass but its over done, i would like to see you pull off some of chopin's work I bet you could do it
For anybody wondering it's Bachs two part invention no. 4 in D minor, but he's messed with it slightly to make it sound better while only playing one of the hands.
I never watch bass videos I play guitar but I dont know what made me watch it but very well played that is excellent I wish it was recorded so it could be downloaded because it sounds really good
I've been playing cello for 9 years, and bass guitar and guitar for 5 years. To say the least, I'm pretty musically talented. This is the best thing I've ever heard come out of a bass guitar. It's so musical, everything about it is amazing. keep up the good work.

That tone only works to make notes in chords seem clearer instead of muddy, for lines like these it's just annoying

Ah definatly some Bach in there, invention number 4 I want to say? I believe that's the d minor one. Interesting variations on it.

Nice to hear someone play a solo that is just good bass playing and not a handful of gimmicky tricks. Solid Technique.

what is at the top of the neck on his bass.. what is the term... i can play this but there is always my low B droning

I think its a scrunchie. Ive seen upright guys and Bill Dickens also use them to mute the unwanted strings from droning.
