How do you bind custom colors to that color palette in the bottom right row? The dang program never included a manual of any kind so I cannot find the out most of the hot keys are, let alone I cannot find the options to edit those hotkeys. I have Debut version. Please help :C
@TheDragonclaw545 oh okay click on the layer you want to use color for, go to the top and hover over where it says layers, then go down to change layer type, and change the layer type to color by using hte drop down box that says black and white (: hope that helps you, gluck!

@AoifeArt i just erased the colors from inside the lineart there is no tool to do that .. but maybe if i select the outline -- inverse selection -- then color the color wont go in the lines .. i don't know if u got what i said but thats how u do it :p good luck

Ok,I noticed that there is a way for you to erase all the unnecessary color outside the area you want colored without messing up the parts that you do want colored... How do you do that?
And, how do you color and keep the lines black. I color in layers but my lines always tint the same color. So, I'll have like a deep red or something. and erasing is just annoying.
So do u have to "hand erase" the coloring that gets on the outside? (meaning like theres not easier way to erase what gets out of the lines when coloring?) and do you know how t add dialogue to speech balloons? Thanks a lot!
@kyayaki I have this program and I have windows 7 so it does work on it. When you buy the Manga Studio debut 4 it comes with 2 CDs' one for Mac and one for Windows 7 and Vista

well the picture is nice, i thing... to paint over the black lines you put the color a little transparent, look on de right side of the screen is a brush and color over it and it looks transparent maybe is for that :D
How would you compare this to other programs like Sai or CS5 when it comes to the resolution of your work as well as the ability to blend colors (water tool/smudge tool) when doing cell shading?

i don't use this program, i use photoshop, but there should be options to edit your layer. and in order to go under the lineart, you have to change the layer type to "multiply".

@CameraPeep101 thats because your layer is either set up as a 2 bit black and white or a 8 gray scale. right click you layer, clik on color model, then click on 32 bit color and there you have it. then all you must do is proceed to paint
@jesse19932011 i left out some instructions, =P well, right clik your layer then clik change layer type. then proceed to clik on color model and so on
you just have to arrange the coloring and the line art of the picture in to different layers and that will help you erase the colors with out messing up any thing els .. hope that helped :)

Oh yeah. I noticed how you can make coloring smooth, but I didn't know how. I tottaly forgot about using that tool for coloring. I only used it for special effects like stars, clouds, etc.

OK .. the problem is that the line art layer is under the colors layers .. so you just have to put the line art layer on the top and the colors under it and that will solve your problem ^__^ .. tell me if that helped ^__^

Example: Draw one color, go over it with another color.... Keep drawing and drawing, then realize you don't like the color you put on the other, you would have to start all over again if you wanted to change it.

Sorry, you probably have been asked this so many times. But how do you get the colour? I only get grey when a choose a certain colour! :/

@CameraPeep101 thats because your layer is either set up as a 2 bit black and white or a 8 gray scale. right click you layer, clik on color model, then click on 32 bit color and there you have it. then all you must do is proceed to paint

you just have to arrange the coloring and the line art of the picture in to different layers and that will help you erase the colors with out messing up any thing els .. hope that helped :)

Oh yeah. I noticed how you can make coloring smooth, but I didn't know how. I tottaly forgot about using that tool for coloring. I only used it for special effects like stars, clouds, etc.

ok i have a question when it comes to coloring. whenever i add a new layer when i try to color the color that i chose goes over the lines of the character that i have drawn and i can't get it to stop so is there something that im doing wrong? O_O plz tell me if you understand what i mean cause i need help... T_T

OK .. the problem is that the line art layer is under the colors layers .. so you just have to put the line art layer on the top and the colors under it and that will solve your problem ^__^ .. tell me if that helped ^__^

This looks so beautiful,I did not know that you can use the pattern brush as an airbrush,and how did you managed to color everywhere yet still keep the color to a specific area of the picture,this is exactly what I want to acheive in manga studio,Keep up the great work!!!

lol ... I don't keep saving layers .. I keep adding layers ... it helps in keeping all the colores orgenized .... :)

Example: Draw one color, go over it with another color.... Keep drawing and drawing, then realize you don't like the color you put on the other, you would have to start all over again if you wanted to change it.
