Yes, but the faces was not a fascist or even much of an authoritarian symbol before Mussolini. And there is more to fascism than just strong nationalistic authoritarianism; it is also an economic system as well.
Clintville does not understand Fascism, nor the Liberty Cap. The Liberty Cap was given to freed slaves who earned there freedom by fighting for Rome. The thing is these slaves were made slaves by conquest of foreign territory. Therefore, the capture of slaves perpetuated the growth of Rome. What is Fascism? . . Sacrifice for the State? YES. Even though we didn't have the term "Fascist", fascism has always existed as long as human societies have been on this Earth.
No, I do understand fascism, and the American usage of the Liberty cap has nothing to do with fascism. Has it occurred to you that something that symbolized the emancipation of a slave might be taken to stand for freedom of liberation?
it speaks for it self, not all fascists look like Mussolini and Hitler some are more subtle, they are hiding behind the false veil of democracy and freedom :(
The US has the fasces before it was a fascist symbol. In fact, they had it before fascism was coined.
