I agree with your strategy but I prefer revives over skeletons. Also one way to speed things up with baal is to use crushing blow on him. You have high dex and max poison dagger so you should be able to hit.

Conviction doesn't affect poison resistance, so using infinity on your merc is pretty uselss.
