We need to realize as Americans that the Muslim people are not a monolith. Some countries are oppressive, some countries are not hardly at all, some are in between, it varies widely country to country. As a woman in America, I can tell you women are abused here too, prostitution and pornography are two of the industries that prey on women, also some statistics say one in three females is sexually abused as a child.
