That human beings wallowing as we are in dirt , cruelty , insufferable pain and the knowledge of our mortality can give forth these sounds full of pure love is still one of the great if not the greatest mystery.
This second movement of Bach's Concerto for Two Violins is to, my mind at least, one of the most exquisitely beautiful pieces ever written by any composer. The two intertwining violins almost seem to be making love to each other, & this piece alone is testament to Bach's towering musical genius. Exquisitely played also by Kyung Wha Chung & Cho Liang Lin.
I went to Cho-Liang Lin's concert in Taiwan about 30 years ago, at that time he was around 17 years old, I guess.
To me, Cho-Liang Lin's has inspired me especially with his play of Saint-Saens violin concerto #3 as I consider his version the best next to Francescatti's.
This video must be from some 30 years ago when Kyung Wha Chung was at the top of her career while Cho-Liang Lin was a rising star after winning the queen Sofia violin competition in Spain.
As a small contribution in gratitude for a lovely video: A beautiful soft start but consitently strong and fluid as if the whole piece is one fluid motion with one sensitive but still firm entry and a firm finish. No sentimentality. Thanks.
Yes. I heard lots of beautiful music from Cho Liang Lin before, but I couldn't find them from youtube! So, I have the same hope someone would do that!
magical, beauty, touches me deeply. Thank you for posting this masterpiece.

I was a fond of Cho Liang Lin, when I was a boy and he was young as here. And, yeah, I'm happy to find him again.
