Did I also mention your own house to decorate? Many clothes shops to buy many many variations of outfits that go OVER your gear for the adventurer that wants to look good and not like some John Doe in other games where you all look alike? Purchasable vehicles? The ability to hack your way into the databases for many reasons including travel itself (depending on your skills)? The list goes on. I highly recommend it. Just keep an open mind as well as some decent IQ. Not for the primitive brain.
This game is definitely worth it. Needs to have a larger fan base than it already does (only 'cause I want the game to persist in activity for my own selfish reasons ;) ). Great environments, nicely detailed character developmental elements for the more complex player that enjoys to go more in depth with their role playing experience. Also has a hosted live internet radio station with DJs and nightly music dance parties with requests, giveaways, and contests. Game is a blast. Give it a chance.

AO players who pause to think, and research online databases, and try and try again to improve their equipment until it is optimized, get to do it against mobs 10 or so levels higher than them, solo. Moreso in groups.

There is depth in character development if you compare it to your average MMO, but it really wears off once you try combat.

Good game, but I'm not a science fiction guy. Most people like the smoother games anyway. this is a little too 'computerish' and almost blocky. Gameplay is great though and I would definitely recommend it to any sci fi person and encourage anyone to try it who enjoys a good mmorpg.

Before WoW, online games were complex enough that pausing to think about your character development actually made a big difference.
