A very underestimated and underrated film. Flawless acting in addition to a great cast. Inspiring soundtrack and a stirring atmossphere! Thank you for uploading!
In the ending I saw, Russel Crowe is sitting on the train and then he whistles and you see his horse running alongside the tarin - this obviously hinting that he intends on escaping. Anyone else seen that ending or is what I have just written bull?
Crowes Character had absolutely no motivation to do what he did. There was not even a hint that he would do that for Bales Character. That ruined, what was otherwise, a good movie. Ben Foster is the only reason to watch this movie. That guy is so intense.
@Bratcipheo An opinion cant be wrong. That was my opinion when I watched it in the cinema & still is my opinion. I'm not the only one either. I read several reviews of the film after I seen it and many of them referred to the eratic & uncharacteristic actions of Ben Wade. It wasnt believable for me. You obviously bought into it & thats fine. Each to his own.
You didn't state it as an opinion, you stated it as fact.
Funny is, how could i half way through the movie allready know that crowe was on that fathers side?Watch the movie again, they share some of the same beliefs, whereas the old man that catched him had done cruel stuff to indians(as crowe stated) to obviously show non existant line between good and evil.I sensed friendship between them from the first minute and i was right.
I love this part... at the beginning Ben Wade was willing to kill a member of his own group to protect himself and the group. Through the whole movie he kills people for selfish reasons. Then, for the first time in his life, he has a real friend in his life, someone he can connect with, and that trumps all greed. Dan shows that doing the right thing can be as beneficial as being selfish. He kills his whole gang (even though there's nothing to gain from it) because he lost that friendship.
Well, I don't look for heroes in this move. I try to understand the "code" that characters live by, as stated in the trailer. If you watch a lot kung fu and samurai movies along with westerns, you'll find that being heroic is not interesting as much as following the code that operates in the wilderness.
I didnt think it was for respect, He entered the train. so the train company would pay of the dead guys debts and help his family back on there feet. As u can see the western train company guy looking at him enter the train at the end
Or, after this, he became a hero. I mean, he was the only 1 that had the guts to finish his work even when losing his own life. Thats a hero in my eyes.
This is one of the coolest scenes in the movie--Ole Ben Wade probably junped on that horse ten minutes later and excaped from Yuma again!!!--Tombstone is my favorite Western but this movie is a close "Second"---A great Western!!!
One of the best Westerns ever... Up there with Unforgiven, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Even rivals Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. And possibly one of the best endings ever.
46lar is retarded its good he dead it shows respect wade had for dan pluse the basterd didnt listen to him pluse no country for old men ending sucked balls that was such bullshit a waste of my time he had no reason to live at the end he sould of died in that car crash. back to 310 if the boy would of shot wade that would ruin the movie sorry it would pluse no one tell me im wrong im in film school i know more then you so fuck off
Though charlie was my favorite i loved how wade done the excicution and made his death better because if you realise he shot him first to wound him and the rest of the gang for him to realise that he should of followed orders
I cried so much. I cry right now, too! This is the best film I've ever seen.

how could he know if he was seen by the "western train company guy" when entering the train?

@IHateTerrorism nope... he got on the train so that the ranchers boy would know his father got him on the train like he said he would
