  • @LDS4Life71 k bro if you say so

  • @LDS4Life71 my house? what are you talking about? You on your meds bro?

  • Such a shame. So many people deceived : (

  • A rescue from bondage: Family history center at Utah State Prison thrives

Nearly 150,000 names indexed in one month

  • Many of us Harvard students weren't exactly known as the popular kids in high school. But it seems that as a university, we're doing pretty well on the popularity scale. Still, we're not yet king.

U.S. News and World Report released its rankings of the Most Popular Colleges earlier this month. Harvard was named the second most popular university, trailing Brigham Young University for the top slot.

  • In April of that year, Elder Carlson received a call from the church's First Presidency, asking him to fill a position as a member in his faith's international lay leadership. Two months later, he was appointed by President Barack Obama to lead the once super-secret satellite agency, with headquarters in Virginia.

  • In the final moments of the cultural celebration, hundreds of youth wave bright flags to celebrate the coming of a temple to eastern Arizona.

  • Speaking to the audience during the program, President Monson said the Gila Valley Arizona Temple is the reason for the gathering.

  • President Thomas S. Monson shakes hands with dozens of young people after cultural celebration for The Gila Valley Arizona Temple May 22.

  • this is bad. its like a spreading disease

  • @jbuzzell70 you seem VERY confused.

  • I've read the book and I find it to be no more or less absurd than any other relegion. In other words, absurd.

  • thank you for this video. I LOVE that song, it gives me goosebumps. Every member a missionary! :)

  • is on the decline, many are leaving the church, it is no longer the fastest growing , inactivity faster than growth,

    Why. ?

  • Mormons stay excited about their church's growth by failing to account for the increase in the world's population during the same period that the Mormon church was "exploding". Guess what? Latter-day Saints have and always will constitute much, much less than 1% of the world's population, even if you count all the inactive members.

Stake buildings are irrelevant; % of the world's population that is LDS is what counts.

  • Also we discontinued polygamy over a hundred years ago, if we held grudges like that we would still accuse the Catholic church for fooling it's member saying they could get in to heaven and be forgiven of three sins if they bought indulgences, at that point the Catholic church was more of a buisness than an actual church

  • the whole lds faith is about 1/3 of California! and at least 1/4 of its members are inactive! so basically the population of new jersey = the population of the lds faith..

  • @ozztenn And at least half the Catholics don't actually practice there religion, so percentage wise were are doing better.

  • Still looks like the spread of aids to me. lds = Americocentric rubbish.

  • Pure propaganda. The church has been in existance for nearly 180 years and what do they have to show for it? 99.8% of the world is not Mormon. Of the .2%, two-thirds are inactive. With growth rates averaging 3%, it will take at least 24 years for church membership to double. With 30 million members and population growth, 99.7% of the world would still not be Mormon. Mormon Jesus is getting a very poor return on his investment.

  • general authority, my bad

  • My grandpa is a high authority, he knows what happens in utah with mormons. I am mormon. The number grows rapidly. We have our own show every sunday with the tabernacle. I went to one. There is a baptism in provo averaged 3-5 per week. This number they show is just average. Plus thats only 2007. Thats why obama hates utah, because he got less votes and they're republican.

  • wowo, big numbers! it must be true!

  • what must be true?? do you know the estimated planet population? this number is very, very, so very insignifigant! there are twice as many people in Holland alone! wowo.

It's no wonder the mormons had little trouble in seducing you.

  • Comment removed

  • The data show more than half of the growth — 265,593 — were converts drawn to the faith by its missionary force of about 52,000. The balance came from other baptisms and children born into the church.

"The more the better," said Elder Bruce D. Porter. "But growth is not our main focus."

  • Data released Saturday by the church placed its worldwide membership at 13.5 million as of Dec. 31, 2008. That's up from 13.1 million in 2007, and 12.8 million in 2006.

  • Mormon men can practice polygamy in Islamic countries !

  • No they can't. Once again an LDS critic doesn't have their facts straight. And I'd be careful about condemning tthe practice of polygamy if I were you. The very Bible so many LDS critics PROFESS to believe in shows God has approved it before. You condemn Mormons for polygamy you condemn Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and GOD!

  • Where in the bible has God approved polygamy?

Your prophets JS and BY went even beyond approval and said if you don't practice it, you won't enter the celestial kingdom. You must be a lousy Mormon if you DON'T practice it. Or do you follow what your prophets teach?

If a Mormon kills someone what would you say?..."oh but Moses, King david and Cain killed someone so it MUST be ok too"

Your silly Mormon religion can go to hell

    :P

  • U ask where in the Bible does God approve of polygamy? 2 Sam. 12:7-8, Thus saith the LordI gave thee thy masters house, and thy masters WIVES (PLURAL) into thy bosom. Looks like U by condemning those who have practiced polygamy, BY YOUR OWN MOUTH have condemned God. Here it is in the BIBLE, GOD himself clearly states HE gave and therefore approved plural WIVES. It is only required for the celestial kingdom IF God has commanded it and the person refuses, same as all other commandments.

  • Your comparison of killing in the bible is ridiculous. R U telling me U cant see a difference between killing an aggressor to save an innocent (Moses) & committing murder (Cain) & conspiracy to murder (David)? In case U missed it, God punished both Cain & David. Show me in the Bible where anyone was punished for having multiple wives. U cant.

  • @cezza57 In the bible many prophets had concumbines which back than were secondary wives stupid.

  • Good one mate!!

"In the bible many prophets had concumbines which back than were secondary wives stupid"

So what?, doesn't mean it was right. And yes God still disapproved.

Everyone did something that was wrong in the bible (except Jesus)..

Again I will point out that LDS prophets say it is essential to practice plural marriage to enter Heaven. Can you see the contrast..??

  • well if you believe Rowan Atkinson(Mr. Bean) in the video "welcome to hell" you will see that not only the Atheists but also the Christians will go to hell...why? well sorry, but the Jews were right. =D

  • Yea are you stupid maybe Abraham? Come on read the Bible before you make a stupid comment Cezza57. Obviously you aren't a true Christian if you can't even back up the Bible.

  • tick tock......BOOM!!

  • What?

  • Have you ever read the Book of Mormon before my friend?

  • long live the new mormon empire

  • how come the Early Communities, such as Navoo, Kirkland, and Independence has not been reflected in this video? Was it because we were persecuted and had to go to SLC?, and thus they're defunct?

ha ha ha to the persecutors our temple has been rebuilt in Navoo. We can't be stopped!

  • Thank you for that, tubaguy! We get stronger everyday, the Lord is with us.

  • when the rain falls, it don't fall on one mans house

  • oh yea! ur spot on!! mormons rule!!! woot!!

  • Lame on both counts.

  • how do u know the mormon church is wrong? and how do u know that the catholic church is right? im a mormon and i believe its the only real and true church.

  • yeah,yeah,oh yeahhhhh!!! :P

  • im one of those! wow i cant believe it!

  • Thanks for posting the video! I enjoyed it!

  • sombody told me a mormon that it was the fastest growing religion not the case since the 60s there are a 12o million charismatic catholics and over 500million charismatic/pentecostals thats growth mormons have had 150 years and have got no where even every male goes on mission for 2 years this shows that it isnt gods true church

  • The Salt Lake City Tribune published stats in 2005 from the LDS and various national census figures and, guess what, the LDS figures are way, way over the top - over 400% in some cases. The LDS know how many are active (5 million?) but don't want to tell anyone.

  • Matthew 24:14

"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."

  • Machstem really covered it with: Barf!

Barf on lies. Misrepresentation and the hatred of TSCC.

Your cultish devotion to spreading these lies makes sensible people disgusted.

  • Yet we love you sensible people. Disgusted or not.

  • Is the church not starting to shrink with Tithe paying western members resigning whislst baptism rates in poor countries replace them?

Though most of the baptisms are just pressurised and manipulated by missionaries desperate to be found worthy by Mission President.

  • I disagree in both cases. First of all, the church is not shrinking (and tithing would have nothing to do with it, anyway). Second, although some missionaries may worry about impressing, they certainly don't make up the majority.

  • See my reply to Elder Joseph (and check it out!)

  • While the 'church' claims 13 million, one of their own Dr David G Stewart Jr., the author of 'The Law of the Harvest: Practical Principles of Effective Missionary Work' estimates the number at no more than 4 million. (A source from the COB told the SLC Tribune that inactive members are deleted on their 110th BIRTHDAY!!) And that it has been necessary to increase the staff in the resignations dept. considerably (a clue!!)

  • nivekia and machstem: Can't wait for you to find that out. And you will.

  • Thanks for posting this video! I think that is amazing! It is awesome to actually see the growth of the church.

  • I've organized a map of thousands of LDS meetinghouses worldwide, similar to this video, but it's a Google Earth file. So far, the map pinpoints the locations of over 7,000 meetinghouses, almost 14,000 wards and branches.

Posting URL's is not allowed within YouTube comments. However, you should be able to find the map just by typing "LDS Church Meetinghouses" into a search engine -- the map I've created is hosted on Google Pages.

  • Barf!

  • Please elucidate. I don't know what TSCC or the SDA stand for.

I'm not deleting anybody's comments as long as they don't swear or use racial slurs, so feel free to speak your mind, but if you use acronyms count on having to decode for me.

I'm pretty busy preparing my Sunday School lesson for the 11 year olds every week and don't manage to stay as hip and current as I might. :-)

  • Considering how much money TSCC spends on missionary work, their return is poor compared to the other cults. C/O the SDA for growth. Don't recommend either of them though.

  • If by "rought" you mean "reach" which is the correct usage and spelling, I agree.

We reach into hell and bring people to Christ. That's one of our missions.

  • mormons will rought in hell

  • Routing? Well, I suppose sorting stuff for eternity could have it's perks.
