  • Awesome!

  • Ur parrot is soooo cute & well trained

  • OMG 0:30

  • You can tell how much they are overfed if they start growing black tail wings and then it starts growing into their wing feathers,, That is fat building up in their blood systems.. Be aware of black feathers.. It can't be rebuilt with easy results..

  • My first exotic was a Yellow Nape. His name was Fibber. I got him when he was 6 months old. He died from a heart attack because I didn't know how to feed him. I fed him so much seed everyday. And he loved it! So much so that he would scream when I finally learned he was being over fed, and tried to change his diet. I had him for 25 years, he could have lived twice that long...I miss him so much and can't impress how much you need to control their diets!! I miss you Fibber!! Love you so much!!!

  • what a clever bird :)))

    since I have a parrot, I adore Amazons :)

    Moby is great <3

  • I'm thinking of getting one

  • only thing i didn't get was the sun conure...other than that. AWESOME!

  • You should teech him to say "Fire in the hole!" and then make an explosion sound hehehe

  • My god I want one so bad! I could've gotten one when I was in El Salvador, but getting it into the states is a hassle T-T

  • @Mo5664 Having any kind of large parrot is a BIG responsibility and you need to do lots of research before purchasing one. Too many parrots are bought and, after the owner discovers just how much care and attention they require, end up being abused or neglected. They are loud. They are messy. They NEED positive interaction with their owner several hours a day. Not all parrots talk. They can live up to at least 70 years. They need a responsible owner. Think before you buy one.

  • HAHAHAHA!!!! This totally made my day!!! I love parrots!!!

  • Great video!!!

  • Not amazon parrot- amazing parrot!!

  • now that rocks ;P

    FIRE!!!!! XD

  • how do you distinguish the command from the response when you're teaching him?

  • that is a pretty good Cooper's Hawk call, they probably scare the crap out of him being bird eaters. At least they would if he knew it.

  • Moby is adorable! How old is he? Do you have some training tips? My double yellow head, Apollo, is now 2. I have a video uploaded of him at 18 months where he chats and sings after a shower. Please check him out on my channel and let me know what you think of our baby

  • I love Moby Bird!! He sounds just like my mom's Popcorn. I wish I had the time he needs to be a super happy bird like Moby. Keep the vids coming, Matt. We love Moby Bird!

  • My Amazon parrot meows too!

  • i bet that never gets old,i have a orange winged amazon, such beautiful birds.

  • He speaks very clearly! How old was he when this was filmed?

  • lmao

  • Best Parrot ever. So much fun.

  • could you please advise what are you feeding him?

  • @badishh No. Only because "what" the treat is, is irrelevant as to whether or not he responds. Each reward is different and him not knowing what is next is part of the training.

  • ._. Omg.. He laughs like my parrot.....

  • HaHa!! loving Moby! very nice bird and talented . Keep it up Moby..

  • Super

  • i LOOOOVE Moby! you guys are great :D

  • Just Amazing I love him

  • this is almost creepy

  • What kind of treat are you feeding him when he is talking?

  • Can you please tell me what your feeding your bird? Thank you!

  • @breezieskye He eats Kaytee brand, Exact diet.

  • @Mattedmonds Ok.. Thanks!!! And can you help me with our bird? He always bites, and like strikes when you come 5 feet from him.. Can you help us with a website or something that can make him not bite us and be nice again. He used to be really really nice, and climb on my dads shoulder. Please help.

  • @breezieskye I can certainly help. Call me for an appointment. (727) 527-2144

  • @Mattedmonds Thanks! And is this your number?

  • @breezieskye Yes.

  • @Mattedmonds Ok thanks! Sorry i have so many questions.. But do you charge? Is this a business?

  • @breezieskye No problem. Yes, it's my part-time business and the fee is only $50.00 per phone consultation. We'll talk for 1.5 to 2 hours, so it's pretty intensive and you'll see a change immediately.

  • @Mattedmonds Really? Darnet, we are low on money right now.. But we will see. Thanks for all your help! P.S. Can you post more videos of your bird? Lol.. He is amazing!

  • @breezieskye Sorry my dad might call, will we get you or a different person if we call. And what are the hours?

  • wow this bird is super smart :)

  • you look like stephen king

  • @campingoncampus I was about to say the same thing. His resemblance to Stephen King is uncanny.

  • omg i have a yellow naped amazon too and she does the exsact same laugh as moby and she does those sounds when shes excited like while your talking and he's making those sounds she'll make those too. shes actually watching this video with me. lol she also like to imitate people talking on the phone. btw moby's tail is beautiful!

  • hey matt, i need help, i have a 4 year old yellow nape, shes....uhhh.... DIFFICULT u can say.... one second shes chatting away being my best friend and just sitting on my hand, next second she snaps and bites me as hard as she can with all her strength.....it painfull, went to the hospital twice, but i love her, can u tell me what im doing wrong?

  • @XxlSkeptiKlxX Sorry, this is the wrong forum to solve your problem. You can contact me for a phone consultation if you'd like. Good luck.

  • plz put up more I love him

  • that bird is amazing !!!!

  • fire ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!

  • would you sell him to me for 500$ ? lol

  • HAHAHAH FIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!

  • nice!!!!

  • i want to buy a big green parrot but i don't know how to find how old is he...can you tell me plss??

  • He`s amazing! Im buying an amazon!!!

  • i might get one now

  • Amazons have such a goofy voice, so cute

  • Great job! Moby is Very lovely!! i have a yellow naped at home too, it can say all stuffs from this video's beginning to 1.47 min except the "fire", sound exactly like Moby~ However, i cannot "tell" him to speak like you do..... cannot attempt him to speak by food, as he got angry when we did that. Any tricks to do that?

Also, i read from 1website that it is essential for my bird to have nuts in daily diet, is that right? we usually only gave him pellet bird food+fruits

  • this parrot so col

  • You've done some great work with Moby, I especially love his bark and even more his kiss.

  • ok you have had parrots for a long time, right? i wonder a thing about my parrot, i just got my parrot he is pretty old and can talk. when i give him nuts and seeds he takes them and eat them but after i while he starts to talk and then bites me. and when im outside the room he starts to talk to. i just wonder if when he is talking does he like it or is he scared

  • @alexander4115

Talking or mimicing sounds is a good sign. Biting means he doesn't like what you are doing or doesn't trust you enough for you to be doing what you are doing.... so build trust by watching his body language and DON'T do things he doesn't like. Make friends by doing things HE likes and not things you THINK he should like.

  • That is so cute! When I get an amazon I will teach him to sing and say funny things too haha.

  • beautiful.

  • thats hilarious that he yells fire! hes gona save your life one day.

  • i have a yellow nape

  • Awesome!! You've done a great job with him!

  • Hi Matt, My friends parents are unable to keep Tacos, she is a 29 yr old Yellow Naped Amazon. I am getting my family prepared for the new addition. I have had a cockatoo before, many years ago. I love birds and I'm up for the challenge. What are the precautions with getting Tacos adjusted to my home. I'm afraid she won't adjust because of her age, and she desperately needs a new cage. How do you think she will do? Kim p.s. We have a dog, teenage children and two cats.

  • @Kim222ish Hi Kim, This isn't really the forum to give detailed advice like that, sorry. If you want, you can contact me to set up a consultation and I'd be happy to help! Matt

  • That is amazing! I was at first considering a Sun Conure, then a Hahn's Mini Macaw, and maybe now a Yellow Naped Amazon Parrot! They are all so intelligent!

  • Matt, My almost five year old daughter Olivia, her sister friend Hannah and I saw your wildlife show that Wednesday at Wayne Pappy Rec. Center. We all LOVED the show. Liv has watched your Mody video atleast ten times and is showing anyone who will watch it on my iPhone.

  • Hi, Thanks SO MUCH for the note! It made my day. I'm glad you liked the show and Moby's video. He is a fun bird to work with! Hi to Olivia for me. :o)

  • amazing!

  • That bird is ADORABLE! What a clever little guy, and great imitations, too! You clearly have a great relationship with him, and it's wonderful to see! Say hi to Moby for me! :-)

  • Great performer "Moby",I just got a 3 yr old Yellow nape. that has nvr been handled, and she kinda has this smell. please help any tips on training and the smell...

  • Amazons just have a smell unique to the type. Mine has it. They all do.

  • ahaha "FIRE"!!

  • hey matt, i have a 17 year old amazon yellow nape he was given too me at 15 yrs old, is he too old to be trained to talk?

  • piip piip piip.....fiiiiiire!!! haha

  • LOL love the fire :)

  • Fantastic video, I really enjoyed watching this! Beautiful Amazon you have got there :)

  • ha ha i'de love a parrot

  • what treats give him?

  • I also have a yellow naped amazon. Some tips is appreciated. Had him for 10 years, and he is 10 years. He uses about 10-15 words that is spoken clearly. I have clicker trained him to fetch, wave, dance, touch, fly and go to a location. I don't know how to train imitation and some further tips on this would be much appreciated. He can "babble" long sentences, but it is unclear - and great fun when he does.

  • Hi, Awesome parrot. I have a Congo African Grey and I'm interested in getting a yellow naped Amazon. do you think both parrots would be good company?

  • hello matt i have a blue fronted amazon named Avatar. he is 4 years old but cant talk. he says watcha doin but kind of roughly. you can just make it out. how do i get him to talk?? and what treats were you using? and i loveeeeee Moby. you are so lucky to have him. i love fire, the cabinet, and oprah. awesome!

  • cute...pronounces better than me.

  • FIRE!!!!!! LOL

  • WOW you did a great job with him. I have a 9 mo old double yellow head amazon, he is scared of hands and very nervous how do i handle him? he says hello, laughs, what r you using as treats for the bird?

  • I love the kitchen cabinet squak.. And of course the Fire. Heh! I have a parrot just like him - though he cannot talk that well yet, cuz he's just a baby bird :P not a Moby -bird.

  • OH my god, that "Squeak" he did, as the Kitchen Cabinet Haha.

  • Haha, parrots are awesome

  • hahahahahhaa i love amazons! I have two african greys! they tlk but wont perform like this!

  • Great video! My Yellow Crowned Amazon loves watching Moby!

  • Hey, great video and even better bird... I have a 5 year old Naped Amazon and want to train him/her better, Just wondered what the treats were you were using...? I dont want to make my bird fat.. :D Thanks... I really enjoyed watching

  • Hi,

I reward him with anything he likes... fattening or not. However, I limit the "treats" to 20% or less of his daily diet.

  • Ok, Thanks for the reply. Love the video.. makes me laugh every time :D

  • he's just like my old bird Sparky!!! i miss him:/

  • he so smart :d

  • o shit thats fucken crazy lol

  • FIRE[3]

    hahahahahaha!

    That was great fun!

    Talented parrot!!!!

  • thanx for posting! will you teach him the whole english language? :-)

  • raw as hell parrot

  • That's a talented bird owner and his parrot.

  • my parrot is talking and learning, I don't give him treats everytme he talks, he has his nut case full of peanuts and he get a peice of tortilla along with the dog every morning, he loves tortillas, just a few peices held in his hand and then I give some of my fruit juice or cereal milk, he loves about three tea spoon fulls. But other then that, I just talk to him and he's coming along just fine, have had him now for about 4 months. He came to me just making wild bird sounds and saying hello

  • scary funny wooow hope mine will talk in a few!!!

  • Moby, you are way too cute for words. What a great way to spend three and a half minutes...watching Moby!!! Thanks!

Irena Schulz - Bird Lovers Only Rescue Service, Inc.

  • very well done :)

  • i got one i hoper she learn li

    ke moby

  • Wow..I just got an amazon Parrot and I hope mine learns as much as Moby. It just amazes me how he can reply with a different sound to every question you ask him, really amazing, they're really smart!

  • moby is awsome

  • hi , how did teach the parrot to say fire ?, thats amazing

  • What are you feeding it?

    plz let me know =)

  • amazing<3

  • It's amazing how much they seem to understand, as well. My in-laws have a yellow-naped Amazon named Bob, and sometimes the timing is perfect. Once my sister-in-law walked past his cage, and he whistled. She told him "Thanks, Bob!" and he exclaimed, "Oh, yeah!" (Naughtily.) When he wants a treat, he'll say, "Apple," and if you ignore him he'll suck up by saying, "I'm a GOOD BOY."

  • that bird looked really happy, im not sure if i should get an amazon parrot, eclectus or a african grey, what would you reccomend?

  • @worldmass

hi i was looking those three birds as well i got an amazon because the african greys are a timid bird and will pluck itself to death if it knows there is stress in the house, an aclectus wont talk as much as a grey or amazon but can talk a little bit but can do better tricks, the amazon is a much tougher bird but not as pretty but smarter.

  • my neighbord, an old man passed away , but before that he knew that i like parrots an he gave a 10 year old , she knows me but she answer me whenever she wants, can she aadpts to a new owner after 10 years, what you will do?

    thanks

  • WOW very cool ..I have the same yellow naped bird my question is how can i tell if its a boy or a girl? were not fully sure.

  • Hi,

Males and females are visually the same. Several parrot magazines have advertisements for DNA sexing of parrots.... but unless you are intending to breed your bird.... who cares!? :o)

  • Thanks for the response, but i se you know your parrot as you refer the bird to a he in this video.

  • The breeder I bought him from tests all the babies. Moby is a boy but I never cared either way...the test had already been done.

  • that was great, im still working with mine, named koby but shes very bratty and doesnt listen to me much

  • Make more videos, i like your video

  • how much are these birds when they are old enough to crack seeds

  • My Double Yellow-Headed Amazon was a Grand and I got him when he was 6 months old. Like most Parrots, they require incredible amounts of love and attention; image adopting a 3 year old child for 75 years...

  • How old is Moby? Great training, what do you use for treats? I have two young napes and they do and say what they want when they want but rarely on cue.

  • Hi,

Moby is 7 years old. Treats are whatever they like. I give Moby many different rewards for his training. Your bird will have his own tastes - just like some people don't like broccoli, etc.

  • wow thats one amazing bird i want him

  • omg. that parrot is soo well trained :D great job, and nice parrot :)

  • Moby is awesome! I love love love amazons!

  • pretty sure that was amazing!

  • you should go to the animal planet pet talen show. FIRE!

  • Awesome!!! I love yellow napes!

  • Great bird!!!

  • I love yellow naped Amazon parrots I have one myself Great birds
