Was this video based on a real person (Maxine) and if so, was it news at the time? Obviously they'd have changed the name for the video but were there any news stories in the early 80's of "Kings Cross prostitute murdered" etc?

In the interview Shazza speaks about a time she (lived?) in kings Cross and would notice the same street walker doing the rounds every night. It inspired her to write a song about her. I'll add at the end of this video when I get the interview.

No, it's not Waverly Cemetry. It's Botany Cemetery (aka Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park), a bit further south near Sydney port and airport. It's a very interesting area, with a significant ongoing indigenous history and culture. Some gorgeous beaches too, with yes, a refinery in the background...

Anyway, love this song and the clip - brings back lots of memories of Sydney in the 80s.
