  • So question: I have a pair of dress shoes in a drawstring backpack, is that appropriate for storage?

  • @bmsc208 Well, I'd slip some shoe trees in them so they don't collapse over time. And resting flat on the floor is always most natural for their structure. But a covering is always good.

  • Shoe box/bags important? Not really. The most important thing you can do for your quality shoes is to always store them with shoe trees in them and polish them when needed. The bags are more for traveling. I don't store my $500+ shoes in shoe bags. They're in a closet on shelves.

  • @omjeremy It depends - the man who asked the question has a really dusty closet - in that case he needs to cover them. Thanks for adding to the conversation sir!

  • @RealMenRealStyle Ah gotcha

  • @omjeremy In a pinch a nice soft cloth bag (like many dress shoes come in) also makes a handy tool for brushing them off after a day's wear!

  • your videos are great. Thanks alot. Please make them shorter though...you dont need as much time as you use

  • @naidookrelin I'm trying - I'm trying.........

  • If you only have one pair of good dress shoes, don't be ashamed of it. We all cannot afford dozens of pairs. You are treating them well.

  • @koflondon1064 Great point!

  • I have one pair of good dress shoes, I am SO poor. but I keep them clean, and store them in the same little soft cloth bags they came in when I first bought them. before I used to keep dress shoes in pillowcases

  • @proximoto I still remember getting my first pair of shoes that came in cloth bags (Allen Edmonds) -- was a real "woah, I'm an adult now" moment!

  • @RealMenRealStyle I have heard of some men, because the cloth is typically fine and meant not to scratch the shoes, will use the bag for polishing.

  • @proximoto Nothing wrong with one pair. I always remember the old Persian saying "I cried because I had no shoes, till I met a man who had no feet".

  • I also use the shoes box method, that way I can stack em.

  • @roger767 Thanks for the comment!
