real deep south, you'll never understand this if you haven't lived on the bayou god bless Bayou "La Bacher LA. Where i first heard this man and where i'll call my home for the rest of my days. R.I.P. Junior!
so fucking gritty......the chills start when the guitar kicks in and they dont stop till the song is over....straight powerful, intoxicating shit...simply amazing

This just ain't music, this is an exorcism, it's a religion, its love, its hate, its real, it's magik, it's just beyond words and for Junior it's what he HAS to do do, he couldn't have lived not doing it I believe!! WOW!
Merci ! Junior a les yeux de mon père . Il est très beau . son Blues est hypnotique et rugueux , il marche les pieds nus sur la terre . Quelle spendeur !
Deep and endless groove, guitar sound so raw and nasty I got cuts and scrapes all over me. This is the real, authentic sound of the American South: unadorned but not uncomplicated, simple but not simplistic, produced by humans not by producers. I only learned of Kimbrough from Buddy Guy's Sweet Tea album and now I see where that comes from. Mississippi Fred McDowell and Bukka White are other examples of this kind of REAL music which is one of the few, authentic artistic creations of America.
I was listening a Iggy Pop cover of You better run when I discover or He siscovered me. Junior Kinbrought , A GENIUS who never dies... His music is amazing and now I trying to buy this only but EPIC EP.
looka here chirrun this here's hill country blues music. talkin bout go on down to the juke joint satday night maybe get a little maybe get your throat cut
What's depressing to me is that I realize the blues just don't sell. Sometimes I think surely people would understand the value of this music. But I don't know. It has always seemed that the blues had to be repackaged or disguised in order to either get promoted or appeal to a wide audience. There's so much ear crap out there that breaks record sales and guys like this go unnoticed. Or maybe a lot of people did hear it and just stole it or dismissed it. At least we're hearing him now.
he lived poor...and died poor and obscure, nothing flashy, just alcoholic and macho! the way the blues should be, not like BB, with flashy suits and guitars...blues in its purest form
stuff's absolutely hypotizing. it just gets in your blood and keep replaying in you head all night. kimbrough was a freakin' monster! guy'd scare the hell out of marilyn manson! thank God fat possum managed to record him before it was too late. Lord knows we need stuff like this today...

iv'e always loved the blues, mostly the deep southern delta blues like fred mcdowell to john lee, thought maybe iv'e heard most everything until i heard the black keys go at it and found junior, love that fuzz
For some reason, I always describe his music as "trance blues"; that's the best I can do. I always remember blues is dance music when I listen to him.
You got it right. That's how I describe Junior's stuff too..."voodoo"...There's definitely some magic going on here. Don't even think Junior knows where it comes from.
It's definitely hypnotic, not what you expect from blues. I didn't like it at first, but by the end of the first song I listened to, All Night Long, I was entranced - and hooked. Amazing bluesman.
yeah man if it wernt for the black keys i wouldnt have checked out kimbrough, love'em both so much im fuckin highhh as a kite! and this music kicks so much ass in this current state of FUCKIN MIND ! this music iss soo fuckin pure and real i can listen to it all day..

I first heard this Feb. 16 2009, man this song blows me away. I reminds me of a Doors song the droning repeatitive guitar. One awesome tune!!! 5 stars!
One of the best of JK's songs. The sound is so unbelievably thick and distorted and the lyrics - he must have been suffering much from longing I guess! :) Great post, thanks!
