It was the british poeple who abolished the slavery. This goes back from when they colonised africa, they had a policy where they didn't allowed to mix or rape and so on with the natives. Still Britain would have made profits from having slaves, but they didn't need cheap labour and they were against it, therefor it was an unselfish decision not to bring slaves to Britain. White poeple may have had slaves, but they also ABOLISHED it while no other noneuropean nation has abolised it
