We played this at All-State, it was beautiful. I was second violin so my part wasn't the hardest and I skipped the trills because I couldn't learn how to do them right in time but it was still the most amazing time ever :)
Mozart was one man, but the light of his music covers the whole world. You can feel those rays just by saying his name. Such lights in this world are few and far between, but what a DIFFERENCE they make when they show up. Civilization owes everything to them. The only reason there is civilization at all.
Mozart had a unique compositional style. He wrote his scores out top to bottom, in a piece, no sketches, no corrections, like it was being dictated to him and he were just writing it down. The entire work was already completed in his head and writing it down was simple for him. Another fascinating anecdote about his method: he was known to have been playing billiards, writing out a composition simlutaneously, while working out an entirely different work in his head.
@SuperMusicizmylife I hate to do this to you, but everything you wrote is false. As a matter of fact, Mozart did make sketches, and he did try them out on the piano. The myth that he had it all finished when he wrote it down was a fabrication. It stems from a letter that was allegedly written by Mozart, but later turned out to be a forgery by his first biographer Rochlitz.
Mozart's music is so great because he wasn't a lazy person. He put real effort into his works, just like every composer.
For our fesitval coming up, we're playing Overture to Lucio Silla as well as Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. I only have harmony though. My and me stand are the only two viola players in the middle school.
This is a masterpiece but a 16 year old youth. For well over two and a half centuries no one can write an opera with this mastery quality at age 16 except the one and only Wolfgang Amadeus.
Mozart was only 16 when he wrote the Lucio Silla. The overture only took him one hour ! It took him only 6 weeks to finish the Opera before ready for production.Remarkable genius.
0:15 to 0:30 is simply perfection.
