But I haven't seen any concrete evidence so I don't "believe" or worship anything. In any case man made religion is a joke, but it does provide people with a good sense of community and togetherness so it's not all bad.

That's EXACTLY why I'm atheist, and that is pretty much the real definition of Atheism. People who claim that Atheism means "Knowing gods don't exist" are wrong. Knowledge is "gnosis". Theism is about "belief" in gods.
A "Gnostic-Theist" is a person who Believes and claims to KNOW their god exists.
An Agnostic-Atheist is a person who doesn't know if gods exist, but also doesn't believe they do.

I honestly don't know, no one KNOWS. A major part of religion is faith, aka belief. But belief is not knowledge. If I beleive the world is flat that does not make it so. It doesn't matter if you belive in God or not the question is if God exists. If so then God could be controlling nature. But if so, what type of God is he?
Also if you look at how religion was born, as man's way of trying to understand what he was at that time incapable of understanding, it's easy to see how it was so believable to ancient peoples. Ancient Greeks had no idea what controlled the seas so they worshipped Posiedon. Now we know that the ocean is controlled by currents, the moon, tectonic plate movements, and other natural occurences. Given enough information we can predict these things. But the question remains, what controls nature?

If you were the leader of a country and you had to control thousands of people, but you simply didn't have the manpower, how could you keep order? Another little point I like to bring up is how whenever we fuck up, we're to blame 100%. Yet when we do anything noble, or endure suffering, it was "God" who gave us the strength to endure. I'm like "nah that was me. I felt that pain and I persevered. God was just sitting behind his desk" haha. Basically, "God" gets all the glory, we get all the blame.

@tamu77095 Richard Dawkins is a brilliant man, but he struggles with the same problem that any other biologist struggles with, being that no one can really disprove religious beliefs of creation; on the other hand, some components of Evolution cannot be dis-proven either. In Aquinas' 5 proofs, he mentions that for species to originate in the way that evolutionists think they had, there would have had to once been nothing in which something came from, and something cannot come from nothing.

Africa has very bright sunlight and is very hot and dark skin is a quality which helps to deal with this. Therefore, those with genetics for high levels of skin pigmentation were more likely to survive and reproduce. This means that dark skinned people are more "highly" evolved or better adapted for that region of the world.

For example, when Darwin discovered evolution, the Church of England trashed him, and made him feel like he was full of BS... Scientific theory is said to be "too many words", for believers, yet Most people skim through the bible and have the word dictated to them, so they never really get an understanding of what it says, just poison fruit, talking snake ahh nonsense! Instead of controlling who you are, and making you a good person he gives you a choice, and that choice is what basically determines who you are, and what "side" you're on. That is what makes it more genuine in my opinion. I don't believe in the words of the bible or have any strong religious beliefs but i would hate to think that all the people that did horrible things in life such as serial rapist & murderers get off scott free scott free. But I haven't seen any concrete evidence so I don't "believe" or worship anything. At the same time, since no one has ever actually proven that gods DO exist, I find it sad that there are so many theists who claim they KNOW (gnostic) that their particular god does exist, but never seem to care to demonstrate how they know, except through vague emotional anecdotes.

That's EXACTLY why I'm atheist, and that is pretty much the real definition of Atheism. People who claim that Atheism means "Knowing gods don't exist" are wrong. Knowledge is "gnosis". Theism is about "belief" in gods.
A "Gnostic-Theist" is a person who Believes and claims to KNOW their god exists.
An Agnostic-Atheist is a person who doesn't know if gods exist, but also doesn't believe they do.

Also if you look at how religion was born, as man's way of trying to understand what he was at that time incapable of understanding, it's easy to see how it was so believable to ancient peoples. Ancient Greeks had no idea what controlled the seas so they worshipped Posiedon. Now we know that the ocean is controlled by currents, the moon, tectonic plate movements, and other natural occurences. Given enough information we can predict these things. But the question remains, what controls nature?

To believe everything they come out with in scientific theory is another blind faith because science is constantly debunking itself over and over again. In Aquinas' 5 proofs, he mentions that for species to originate in the way that evolutionists think they had, there would have had to once been nothing in which something came from, and something cannot come from nothing.

Africa has very bright sunlight and is very hot and dark skin is a quality which helps to deal with this. Therefore, those with genetics for high levels of skin pigmentation were more likely to survive and reproduce. This means that dark skinned people are more "highly" evolved or better adapted for that region of the world.

For example, when Darwin discovered evolution, the Church of England trashed him, and made him feel like he was full of BS... That is what makes it more genuine in my opinion. Also I believe in an afterlife because my sister with two of her classmates saw a ghost (man walk into a wall and vanished) at her university during a class session. They freaked out & the professor had to calm them down, they all gave the same description of the man.

I think god made the earth just cuz like "The big bang" doesnt really add up to me personally... but I don't really have a specific religion but i think the main thing is that we should just be good people. Just a thought... peace

I dont believe in religion either but I think god does exist like, I believe he created ppl to some how make they own peace if he chose to answer ppl prayers and all dis other bs then ppl wud be to relaxed and focus on him givin us shit. I think he there to create and nothin more we just have to do the rest, when we die we will find out what he really had in plan 4 us all the religions I just think are fake tho

Also I think your handling of the bible comes off a bit ignorant since you seem to have some "facts" wrong. I'm personally not-religious/Apathetic agnostic. I would suggest looking up the writings of Saint Aquinas and Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav and Franz Kafka. So you can see why they worship their religion.

Some religions are blatantly created to control (Scientology comes to mind). Others are more of ways of life (Zen Buddhism). You are talking about deity based religions but don't elaborate on other religions of different natures. Though I will say that essentially all religions are about control but so is society with social norms and such.

God does nto say a person should not be gay. There is nothing worse than rejecting something without knowing what it is. Read the Gospel and the New Testament.
