How can you afford to THROW a party right after you lost your income?

Companies sponsored the space and some prizes. Individuals contributed time. I've updated the description with links.

Sponsorship + BYOB made things not so bad. Most people spent almost nothing there, and going to the Pink Slip Parties was well worth any minor cost to help find opportunities.
