I don't think I would like these.. Drawbacks - They are not water proof, uses batteries, mechanical, rust, heavier than the one use snap glow sticks. I use the snap sticks for night time scuba diving to attach with a zip lock to the tank. Makes locating your dive buddy much easier. You could use these for big game hunting to mark the killed game spot at dusk, when you go get your buddies to help you retrieve your big game, hanging in it in a tree. Mark your camp site if you go get water.
you bought the sylvania one at a big lots didn't you. i know because I bought one 2 weeks ago there and used it last weekend camping. it looks like a glowing sex toy but it definatly works good.
They do make a newer version that are for sale at Home Depot. They were selling the as a halloween light for kids. The new version has a small led light in the end cap where the switch was.
@morticianfaller, yes, our local HD has a full selection of a good version of this sort of light: it is a flashlight, a solid color wand, or a strobe effect, in assorted colors, five bucks, batteries last for a few hours, I use the green model (most visible color) dangling from my cruiser bike's left handle bar: cars are more sure to see me from the front side and rear. I like wands.
batteries included? price of those little silver batteries? i would have liked to see a side by side in the dark with both lit at the same time, good job all around !
