My favorite thing to catch bluegill on is crickets, they never fail and once i caught two 2 lb bluegill in a day so i recomend cricketa. Coming from a mid florida fisher.

@Fin616 If youre not plannong to keep the bliegills you catch, you might want to switch to a single hook! It works much better for catching and taking the hook out. Use a small walleye hook and a peice of worm threaded on to the hook. To do this, split the worm into about a half inch peice, and slide it over the hook so the head has the jook under neath. It works much better!

ya, bluegills eat anything. when nothing else is workning, i bust out da dough bait. i take flour mix it with water till it doesnt stick to ur hand when u touch it(add flour or water as needed). take it, and spill a few drops of vanilla and some type of vinegar. out it in the microwave for like 15 seconds.(depends on how much ur making). iv cuaght so many blueills, i cant even count on this. it stays on the hook, isnt messy, and works
