  • if I wanted to read I'd word of type "Muscle memory in Google/yahoo" not in youtube

  • This will help me at Street fighter hopefully

  • I learned how to backflip 2 days ago, I got it easy no problem so that same day I tried cheat gainers and kick the moon... I crashed them both badly. Now today I tried to backflip again and I landed on my face.. Did I try to learn to fast? What's my problem?

  • @ThunderJumpMan check out EPIC1 vids they may help you

  • ty this help me in basketball shooting

  • Whats that second song? The one with the guitar

  • Hello there,

I don't know who stands behind this video but I want to applaud him/her. Great job in explaining how things work. I am a nursing student and a professional guitarist and I find the information here VERY ACCURATE and appeal to most people who do not necessarily have anatomy and physiology background. I also want to say that the advices given here regrading learning new tricks are also apply to any other area that one wants to master.

Thank you for a great video.

  • And, What do you mean by conditioning? Mental (as in having confidence) or physical?

  • Lol first i thought this was just a video on working with ur brain and muscle but i found out that this was for Tricking i got excited :D

  • This is the kind of information that people use to change their lives... I don't know dogen, but damn; I love that guy..

  • i cant do datt!

  • What is this about? Break Dancing?

The option for high def wasn't really worth the extra wait on my wifi. The video is just text except for a a few slip second scenes.

  • hey thanx man! Thanx so effing much! :D

  • very good video, thanks

  • erm how do you take away the fear of falling down

    no im not jking

i know how to do palm spin but i have the fear so i cant

    any tips

  • Wow this helps alot, there is many diffrent things i really want to improve on. Thanks

  • What's the song at the end (last one)?

  • WOW! This is great! I will practise one top rock and one footwork move now, in case i got mixed up! I will pass it to my other friends!

  • wow thank you.

    lol

    u made alot of sense.

i will apply this from now on

  • time to get power moves

  • thx man! ur tutorials rock!

  • Can this video, imply to breakdancing, for example doing flares, and head spins?

  • I think yes :) i train by dogen method my airflares now

  • I hope so, cause I really want to do a clean flare

  • For sure.

  • @kobe93619 it can apply to anything

  • this is da most i think ive ever read

    gud stuff man

  • Meaningful video. thanks

  • Good stuff. Going out to do some training right now!

  • this video is awesome. Valuable Information that I need to make use of during my next tricking sessions. Doing 2 types of sports therefore isnt good neither. Maybe I should quit Kickboxing so I can concentrate on Tricking

  • Wow in the gemnastics. Ninja stuff. If science would only relate computers and how they work we would understand how real time human ailments and positive things are achieved in and through humanity. Hardrive is equal to our brain and spine is equal to web and computer history to make things access quicker.

  • they sound awesome..my mistake:)

  • what is the things that man talks about in the begginnig the sound awesome...

  • thanks! Helps a lot! :D

  • wow thanks dude. Im glad i typed muscle memory in the search b/c i'm a bboy and i've been trying to headspin for ages! I'm gona try this everyday now b/c i did opposite of what this said by training headspinning for 2-5 hours...

  • that was great stuff awesome!

  • Very helpful stuff.

  • basically hes sayin instead of beast training one session train alittle but more regular but for me thats hard coz i aint got the time or money to train every day so what now?

  • very interesting now I know why I sometimes mess up my tricks even though I know them already, thanks Epic1

  • Our sub conscs mind needs simple, absurd images to imprit and store the that picture information in the cortex via hippocampus and hippothelemus. just imagine a hippo taking over your camp or u hit a hippo in the leg and it becomes lame. Like these u can ingraine anything in the world. Failures of hypothesis, before succeeding after improvements and becoming actual theories, may take 1500 trials or more. But not Memory. To remember anything just form absurd, ridiculous pictures in ur mind.

  • The very beginning where you hear a man talking behind the music, where is that from?

  • I thought it was only a thousand, not 1,500 times to imprint a memory (either way, it takes a lot of success to imprint)...

  • Knowledge=Power. Power=Control. Control=Success?

  • I learn a cheat gainer + a sideflip

  • 1500 times seems excessive, but i know it's just a number to throw out there :)

but of course, the more you learn a move, the more you want to do it, so like 1000 times might not seem that far fetched

anyways, Dogen's videos are always intense!

  • what's the name of the song?

  • Actually its multiple songs from Infected Mushrooms...

  • There's technically no such thing as muscle memory, but rather strengthened neurological pathways to enhanced motor units. Buzz term? Sure.

All in all it's the principal of specificity. Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. You don't jog to become better at swimming. You don't cycle to become better at running. It's all the same. Great video though. Dogen takes a lot of time out of his schedule to post these - props and thanks!

  • thanks for the vid. i have been having proplems that relate to over practacing a move and loosing confidence

  • Im realy confused. I don't think i can do this.

  • ur body automatically does this. u hav no controll

  • hard to understand

  • not really, u do something ur body remembers it. simple....... thats why, u do the stuff u do already, get up, eat sleep, ur body remembers it. now what he is talking about is useing it to ur advantage. if u do good tricks or whatever alot of time and they are like perfect u'll learn it faster cuz ur body will REMEMBER IT.

  • One question, Is it a good idea to practice it everyday on muscle memory? Or should I do it like 4 times in a week?

  • Wow thanks, that realy helped me :D

  • This really helped me and my tricking, Dogen Your tutorials rock!

  • Great :)

  • scary

  • I love dogen his vids are an inspiration, even though i am not a trickster, but a traceur

His vids feature some weird but really awsome songs :D theme bound :D really good, and his explenations *for example titanium ankles* is great :D

    WHOO 5 stars:D

  • Remember guys - this muscle memory is specified to tricking.

  • How about wushu???

  • why?

  • Because learning to condition yourself to do a horizontal spin is not very useful in an average person's day.

  • Not muscle memory, just turning a movement into a spinal reflex (full attention no longer needed). Musicians have known this for centuries. Muscle memory: bb term, means, training a muscle with weights for the first time takes longer to reach a certain size. After a lapse in training, it much more quickly gets back to the same level, "remembering" what size it was before.

  • most of the information in this vid is related to "greasing the groove" or systematic facilitation. Except this vid is geared more towards tricking than strength training. Either way, both should be considered as skill training. :)

  • tha philosphy behind combos.. im goin to start tricking..

  • =0, im speechless, this is kinda scary butwill help me sooooo much, TY

  • Hi nice video - could you give me a source or an article where this information is written. I am working on a paper and so I am looking for proven information - thanks in advance - keept it up

  • whats the music in this vid?

  • I think it's Hallucinogen.

Check on Dogen's site, he lists to music with the vids.

  • I'd love to know the name of this song. Where is Dogen's site?????

  • @EmperorErnest cant see the music list, but it sounds cool too bad cant find it

  • this is amazing

  • I'm relating this to my guitar playing

    very similar

  • o wow, this means bad news for my frontflip

  • i could not trick for 30 mins i tryed once lol but i get into it to much

  • lol makes sense, thats why you crash more at the end of sessions.
