I never want to know life without The Beatles! I named my 6 year old twin girls Abbey Rose and Lucy Sky. Saw Paul live twice and cried the whole time. Everything else disappeared in those moments. I was transported to perpetual bliss. If there is a heaven, that was it. I floated through the next week in absolute awe. Beatles fans make me happy and being in an arena with thousands of them while watching Paul McCartney is indescribable. No words can define that. I hope I get to do it again!
Just played this back to back with the first time America heard this song on their first Ed Sullivan appearance in Feb. '64..... Paul's still in the same key! 48 years later he still can hit the high notes!!!!
Macca's band don't get enough credit! We are busy watching that incredible legend in centre stage and forget how amazing they are, every single person on that stage is simply magnificently brilliant!
saben algo ... agradesco que aun este vivo para escuchar por lo menos a alguno de los cuatro beatles seria muy desmotivante que jamas los conociera en persona algun dia los vere !!! y ese dia podre morir en paz.
nothing against paul or the audience but i dont get it, why is it if its some kind of a legend musician say weller, mccartney, or some new ones they always focus the expressions of the people s faces they sing young or old having a good time the camera should not focus too much on the audience it ruins me watching the concert
i love the beatles, love all of them...but wasnt john who sang lead on this. i 'm really happy to hear and see paul singing this AND they are doing A GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!! keeping true to the original;(not to mention pauls GREAT BASS RIFF)
but i'm curious ,does anyone know why paul finally sang a song that not only john sang but wrote?
@johnnytremain66 It was written by John, i'm glad to see him doing the song I think he's the only person besides John that could really do this song justice. It is credited as a Lennon-McCartney composition after all. :P
There is such a huge age range in the audience, from those who were around when The Beatles first made it on the scene, to those who weren't even born when "Wings" broke up. Children, teens, young adults, mature adults...The Beatles and Paul are timeless.
what seems amazing is how many just don't cotton on to the totally lewd John Lennon Raunchy Innuendo and it just reeks.......nice work John, thanks for giving Paul a song to sing. But it isn't the same without the sinister grin and knowledge that John meant every word.
Outstanding Sir Paul!!!! Just wish you'd played this when I saw you live. I'm just about 17 and proud to say iv seen this legend 4 times live, it's not even possible to put the experience into words, he really does shut off the entire world around us as we fall into the magnificent sound of his songs...
With songs like this is the reason the Beatles are now legendary and will continue to be so long into the future. Absolutely astounding sound !!! Fabulous memories of the fab four.... lol
This is a fabulous version to be sure, but I'll take John signing lead any day and Paul and George backing him up on vocals. As good as this is, it pales by comparison with the original. Top The Beatles? It can't be done, even by Paul.
We are looking and listening to these incredible 40 years old musicians playing these amazing chords and harmonies in this incredible way but we too often forget that they're just cloning the parts that some18 years old guys composed 40 years ago...
Towards the end you see a young girl and an older woman, both in tears. That is a testament to the longevity and timeless music of The Beatles and the impact they had, and still have, with the world today. There will never be another musical act like The Beatles because there will never be a band that has done so much musically and culturally. Nicely done lads...nicely done.
@MrHeatherway - Completely agree with you! I believe The Beatles were a once-in-human-history phenomenon the likes of which we'll neither see nor hear again. I saw their entire career and was a radio DJ for 20+ years, and (This will really upset some people but, too bad, because it's true!) only religious figures such as Jesus and Mohammad, et cetera, so profoundly touched humanity. What John Lennon said about them in 1966 was actually true!
@imagine 1965 You're right on both counts. John's wordplay is evident and after recording this in the studio George Martin said "Congratulations! You've just recorded your first number one." The song made an impression on Bob Dylan as well.
Paul McCartney = Musical Mount Olympus. John Lennon was right in 1966. The Beatles were (and still are!) the most popular people in the world. Rightly so. Just a rumor of a McCartney concert can fill any venue in the world with four generations of blissed-out fans.
I believe John Lennon was Paul's equal. Together, they were supernatural. I saw The Beatles' entire career. The Beatles was a once-in-history band, folks.
I fell in love with him when I was nine, in 1964, and have never gotten over it. When those women cried, I teared up, too. Paul, for now, for then, for always.
@histre101 This was John's lament about trying to get an ex girlfriend to give him head in his car. It is not an assertion, that was according to Paul in Anthology.
@bluegrassreb1 I think they all moved on fine. Even Paul. He just made incredible new music as well as continue to play Beatles music for us. I saw him at Wrigley Field. It was incredible.
@bluegrassreb1 That's because The Beatles always moved forward, always got better, never compromised their artistic integrity or became a nostalgia act. The didn't live in the past. They didn't rest on their past success. They defined the present and always looked to the future. That's why they were the most influential musical group of the 20th Century-and beyond. it's amazing that paul sung a beatles song, that is usually sung by john...hope paul will do another concert and sings some of beatles's first song..like "i want to hold your hald, love me do, can't buy me love, ticket to ride and others..one my greatest disappointment in my life is that i wasn't able to witness what a beatles reunion would have brought..
Because you have a big heart, and that's good, it takes up space inside of you and fills you with good, positive energy. Thank god, thank the divine, thank the cosmos that people like you have such a big heart.
Ohmygod! The girls are still crying! I think it's the songs. It can't be Mac. It's what Mac and the others created. That's the turn on. That is the ticket. If it wasn't for the songs, they'd all be just another working class bloke that smells like cigarette smoke. That's a fact. It's the songs.

@kielego
Because you have a big heart, and that's good, it takes up space inside of you and fills you with good, positive energy. Thank god, thank the divine, thank the cosmos that people like you have such a big heart.

I get chills everytime I see this vid. Seeing him singing John's part instead of the backing vocals is really something that touches me.

One of the Beatles great feel good songs. Always a favorite. Of course it is about sex. But, subtle. Paul and crew do a very good job here.

Ohmygod! The girls are still crying! I think it's the songs. It can't be Mac. It's what Mac and the others created. That's the turn on. That is the ticket. If it wasn't for the songs, they'd all be just another working class bloke that smells like cigarette smoke. That's a fact. It's the songs.

We're an independent label trying to make it in this game and the best way to do that is by being more known on youtube. One of the ways we stand out is we help unsigned artists get more fans by uploading their songs for a new fan base
You can change our future with one simple click.
Please thumbs up so other people can see this and check out our channel and comment with feedback if you like, also if you think we could improve.
If you like check the other artists we have over 60 vids up!
Cheers!

Paul normally doesn´t sing John´s songs unless he´s making a tribute to him. Strange but nice.
