there's nothing mythical about the AK. It just uses a good old fashioned gas-piston system, like the M1 Garand. All HK did was drop the direct gas-impingement system of the M16/M4 family and put in an updated gas-piston system. Gas piston is slightly heavier and allows for *slightly* less accuracy, but the reliability tradeoff is incredible. Thank god for HK finally doing what we in the military have always wanted the M16/M4 series to really be..
you can bary the gun in sand and it will still fire like normal you submeg this gun in water and all the water that gets in is on the bearel and it comes off as steam. un like other guns which the bearel would blow up in your face casing mayjor injury or even death. the hk 416 is the most vesital gun i have seen becuse you dont have to og to a gunsmith to put on the atachmens like the 40mm gernade loncher. wow
Glock is know for extreme reliability in a lot of enviromental conditions and so is the USP but the USP has a better accuracy and fires ammunition at a higher speed cause of the rifling. Oh yea the beretta is truly a piece of shit it's no where near as good as a glock or USP or even a sig. If you go to war Glock, HK, or Sig should be in your holster.
See that's the beauty of HK pistols, they don't use rifling. They have a polygonal barrel. The whole barrel twists causing less friction thus equaling less wear on the barrel!
So do Glocks. Both are polygonal rifling, so with same length bbl and firing same ammo they will have same muzzle velocity, not like what someone else posted here. Both been around for ages, the 'Cult of Glock reliablity' started and 1 never heard about the USP, esp. from Americans. Now it seems it's all about USP reliability. Did you guys just discover USP or something? I have had both for 10 years. Both are good but I prefer USP. Better controls and recoil management buffer system.
They do make exceptionally good firearms. Their roller locked centrefire stuff is a bit harsh re recoil, and throws brass miles away on ejection though. HK, SIG and FN are it really, the supreme firearms designers and manufacturers at the moment (at least in the West, there is some seriously good stuff in Russia too, AK 101 with red dot sight anyone? ... )
youre wrong the original 50 year old ak 47 jams if not often cleaned. the ak has been updated many many times and also i think your messing up with the models beacause there is a newer modell (ak74) which looks barely the same (or aksu)
Funny how in nam' the VC didn't have a problem with Ak's jamming. Yet any vet will tell you about how the old 16 jammed for no reason. A lot of the anti-ak stuff has been put out by people who refuse to believe that russia produce a rifle that was better than the US's. AK is used worldwide, and people have shown how resilient the Ak is. It's not my favorite but I'll give it credit.
you are thinking of the very first M-16, in 1967 they fixed a lot of the problems with the jamming. Also, the m-16 had a lot of influence on the russian Ak-74.
no, actually, the m16a2 and especially the a4 jam very frequently if not 100% cleaned at all times. The m4 also jams alot as well. Go to army times or any credible source, and you will see the m4 and m16 still jam.
@USP1986 the m16 jammed in nam because american soldiers didnt know how to clean it. when the m16 was first introduced US troopers were told that it never needed to be cleaned. they were obviously lied to. once reports of jamming became so frequent the US military sent out little pamphlets of american women telling them how to clean the M16. once they cleaned the m16 frequently, it has been one of the better guns ever issued. just watched a massive special on it so i know this is true.
we should replace the m16 and the m4 with these. i'll admit that both guns have served the u.s. military well but i think its time for a change. and i think the USP should replace the berretta. : )
thats a myth and its wrong , believe me it would have been done. All the people backing the glock get your facts straight and lay off the meth, itll help assholes.
Yeah it's dead wrong, Glocks may have a "plastic shell" but many of the parts are metal, it would pop up on a metal detector like any opther gun, or metal item.
Looks like a big improvement over the M4/M16...except for the 10" barrel version they're showing. It's generally well known that a 5.56 bullet relies on velocity (and fragmentation) for effectiveness. I'd much rather have at least a 16" barrel unless I was going to be fighting exclusively inside buildings or something.
Oh well...just another nice weapon that we peasants will never own here in the Land of the "Free."
First person I've ever seen posting what I've always said! 16" bbl is minimum length to get full ballistics from the 5.56 mm round. Gives you max effective range and max fragmentation throughout that range. Rather than M4 why don't the US military cut their M16A2's back to 16" and get the best of both worlds? Full ballistics and a full length gas system for more reliability, plus a handy carbine length barrel? P.S. At least you U.S. peasants are a lot more free than we Down Under peasants !!
Stop playing Counter Strike. In any combat situation or where you life depended on it, using a Desert Eagle over a USP would be incredibly foolish and suicidal. Yeah more firepower, but half the clip size, and you'd be lucky to hit anything within 7 shots with all the recoil.
well my personal opinion though...and im not a proffesion.
PS: the German Bundeswehr uses the P8 which is a usp modified to fit the military standarts demanded by the Bundeswehr but it is the 9mm version though i think 9mm is ok
Yeah, CS really doesn't take any real physics into the power of the weapons, they mainly look at popularity. Like how the UMP is under powered because nobody knows about it. A .45 round will take a person down just as fast as a .50. But you'll be able to control and fire the .45 faster, .45 is more practical. Deagle will get you killed.
Also look how people like that MAC10, I dont remember much from when I played counter strike but did they have the mac start with the bolt open? Probably not. So many flaws, probably because kids do not like realism. They like "guns and shooting people".
whats funny is the glock outperforms the usp in everything including reliability. of course this gun works better than the m16. most zip guns jam less than that flawed piece of junk.
Dude! Thou came from Mars? Everywhere I look, everybody I ask, I see/hear how infamous it is. Why do you think Us army use 92FS. It is not so bad, just stories from guys like you made it a bit unpopular.
Almost every assault rifle is better then the M4 carbine.

Im not too enthused about the M4/M16 being replaced, but when I join and I'm given one of these I would be alright with it.

Oh and I know the difference between a 47 and 74 thank you. a 47 is a 7.62 X 39mm and the 74 is a 5.56 X 39mm but hold much of the same mechanics.

yeah sure the first m16 rifles and many of the newer version were pure shit
ak is better
but the accuracy of the m16 is still a bit better
but m16 m4 are shit anyways (or @ least i don´t like them^^ german rifles and belgiums rifles are better^^)

Holy shit....that is mind blowing that someone with even think that, much less say it.
You choose a weapon by....
A: Rap songs and or paid magazine writers to endorce products?
or
B: People in Special Operations thats lives depend on their weapons?
Go with B.
Because No one in special operations would take a glock over an HK. I'll repeat....NO ONE.
I'm talking about units that can choose....around 99% choose HK and Sig. No glock.

HK weapons are the best I've ever used.
After the military, my personal weapon is the HK USP Tactical .45
It reminds me of the HK MK 23, but it is smaller, but maintains a lot of the same features the MK 23 has.
HK will be the main small arms manufacturer of the US Military.

I dropped a glock 23 from three feet and both sites popped off.
I fired 211 rounds and it jammed twice.

Every HK weapon I've used was flawless.
Special Operations personel do not use glock....figure out why.
