As a ThermaRest old client, I am quite disappointed. I bought two NeoAir. Me and my girlfriend went camping in Greece. Both matresses got flat within 2 days. We were sleeping on a tent, on sandy sole, being careful not to leave any stone or sharp object beneath the tend. My impressione is that they got flat just for the pressure of our bodies. I can fix them with a patch, but I wonder: is it worth the effort? They are very delicate, they would easily get flat in the next camping session.

Looks like a lot of work to me, and expensive too. You could have bought a short foam pad for 20 bucks, 9oz of virtually indestructible pad. Sure it will never compress as small as yours but it will also never pop or soak up water.
@alexinclan it's no work at all. blowing it up and putting it away is easy. I could have bought a foam pad, but I could have also bought an '89 Volvo 240. I decided to get a Rav4 instead.

@bleedx2 LOL, You said in the video you got tired 1:59. I enjoy the ridge-rest for its durability. I think your comparison is way off it should be more like, i could have bought a Subaru but instead I bought a Prius.
I just got it for the season. I was so thrilled ! I used it on my first trip of the season. It lasted less then one hour before it deflated. No visible hole or audible sound. Sent it in. 2 month repair time. Conclusion: Over priced. Extremely bad customer service. Bad quality.
It seems like only pervisirani and the author of this video seem to take the term Ultralight seriously. Everyone is focusing on the price and not the weight. This thing weighs 9oz and is 2.5 inches of thickness and warmth. By switching to ultralight gear I went from 39 pound pack down to only 16 pounds TOTAL pack weight for a 3 day journey INCLUDING my water. I can do an additional 8 miles or more a day because of it. THANK YOU CASCADE DESIGNS!
@raptor182cmn yeah - when I mean ultralight, I've gone one 2 night trips with a full pack (water and food included) weighing 8 lbs. this pack gets the job done. to me, anything over 15 pounds isn't ultra-light.
I think the price is high as well. they say the price is shadowed by a great night sleep but whatever. Is that stuff sack in the video something you also had to buy? i was on rei looking and you have to buy it extra. I talked to a guy at rei and the two big cons about this pad are obviously the price and (if you watch any video you'll notice) it is pretty loud. I am on the fence between this and the big agnes insulated. (no joke, almost 100 cheaper). comments?
I could buy a Kia for a fraction of the price of a Ferrari. Would you cruise up to a Ferrari in your Kia and look down at that person or product? If so, you are a pretty big loser and this is no different.
Pack your dollar store mat into your Kia and go camp out behind a Target in a strip mall!
Man all you guys hating are idiots. You think it makes you more "rugged" to sleep on shitty foam?
There is 0 downside to this product (that I can see), except for the price. If you can't afford it, don't buy it, but don't hate on others for investing in a quality item. Especially one that destroys whatever you are using.
@dslonek I just signing in to suggest the same thing. Haha. Helpful review, but for gods sake use a tripod, or just set your camera up nicely on something.
i got an inflatable pool float from dollar general for about $2. works great. yes, you need to spend more time on your camera skills. made me very dizzy.
Just discovered that the bar code label stated "NeoAir w. stuff sack" so i decided to unfold the whole thing (initially I unrolled it but did not unfold). Then I found the user manual (for a self inflatable that is ...), a list of tips for NeoAir and a stuff sack. Not the yellow one but a brownish one.
Nope - I never hear this mattress make the sound when I sleep. It is never a concern - the sleeping bag on top of it totally 100% mutes the sound.
It is about 2-3 inches off the ground. Not exactly sure how wide, but it has the width of any other sleeping pad I have owned. Great for scouts? Certainly! Great for anyone... it has been almost 2 months since I got this and I am very happy with this purchase.
From one huge nerd to another, thanks for posting the vid. I'm thinking about buying one - nice to see what you thought about it before I pull the trigger. How has it worked so far?
Right on, no sweat. As an update... I love this thing more than I thought. The "garbage bag sound" that you hear in the video never comes into play... when I put my head down to sleep, I never hear the sound. Super comfortable as well... great for side sleepers!
how do you think this air mat will fee as far as slipping off of it during the night? another video said had a slightly tacky surface, but i haven't been able to confirm that statement yet
actually with my thermarest prolite 3, i would slip off it all the time... this pad does have a tacky surface and it will be much harder to slip off. also, it is an inch or two off the ground so you'll feel it when you slip off. this is one of the good things about this sleeping pad.
Thanx for the vid but, I like exped mats better! Some day I'll do a vid on my gear.

I had a ridgerest... loved it!

@bleedx2 That's a bonus feature for the NeoAir I hadn't considered, free workout.
Foam - 20$pad + 150$gym membership = 170$
NeoAir - 120$ pad + Free workout = 120$
we have a winner!! The NeoAir it basically pays for itself
alexinclan 1 year ago
at that price.. you would think it came with a leprechaun that blew it up and set it up for you. Still a good camp pad though.

@fusionstar916 it's expensive, but I got it for a massive discount. Not sure if I'd pay full retail for it. But yeah, this pad is sweet

A over priced air mattress.
In my area, the outdoor stores are struggling to sell these.

Did the stuff sack come with the neoair ?
Just bought one today but it does not contain a bag (my other thermarests did have a bag) nor instructions.

@tayl0r011
What durability.
A 110lb girl can cause it to leak after only 30 minutes of use.
There is a reason why no other manufacturer is using this fabric and this manufacturing technique.
