@junglebomber I almost completely agree with you on that.. but DO check out an artist by the name of Lone, he captures the old raver scene in a lot of his tracks, and often really well! Start of with the Echolocations EP and work your way around. Hope this revives some hope in your mind for any current artists!
Just to let you know have this on vinyl but not this version what mix is this, sorry mine is far better, you know the sounds doe's not meet the late 80es .
@BarrieMitchell Better version than this!! Are you insane??? I had to check if me laptop was wired up to a Flux Capacitor, late 80's this is from 92 ya mad thing!! No 80's sounds here!!!!!!!!
Good music and music scenes tend to come during times of social upheaval. The world is due another big musical movement pretty soon to blow away all the pop idol crap.
Can't stand going to youtube videos of old songs. There's always that predictable "LOL OLD SONGS R BEST NEW SONGS R SHITT XDD BTW IM 13 XDDD" comment with 50+ likes. I don't understand why people become so hateful over things like music.
if you were there in the late 80's to early mid nieties, then you will understand and know, if you were not then you won't and i feel sorry for you . Yes there is a lot of great music still being produced today, but classic tracks are far and few between and use samples of all these old classics. Many tracks today are over produced digital tracks that cannot compare to old analogue sounds, analogue just sounds better on massive rigs and you haven't got the quality of MDMA we had back then.
I've been looking at this picture and trying to figure out what this 'character' is. but it looks like a snake wrapped around the green ball. see the head on top with the forked tongue. DUH?
Such a simple tue but constructed to the maximum, when people say "they dont make them like they used to" this is what they are referring to. Pure class and a joy to listen to at about 4k of sound.
Another Anthem from The Olympic Ballroom Rave Club in Dublin 93/4. Place went mad when this came on, up on the balcony overlooking the big dance hall with the lazers sweeping around the hall like search lights through the smoke aaahhhhhhhh..........
they brought out two versions of this tune back in 1992 this and a slightly different mix has anyone got the other mix? it was here untill last year and i guess it was removed on copyright grounds or some such crap
hehe thanks for the year mate, wish i could have been there. I was thinking of Underworld-born slippy and typed in 1996 for the most odd of reasons...... god it sounds fresh!
Don't quote me, but I'm guessing early 90's. Possibly late 80's. It's been remixed a lot so my memory is warped, plus I smoke so much weed that I forget who my mum is each time I go to sleep.
utter rubbish... music evolves theres so much brilliant stuff being produced at the moment. This is a classic track though... although the commies remix is the best version ;)
@junglebomber mate im 18 and were all still listein to these tunes..i agree stuff today is absolute muck! but were still bangin away to the old school..fair play :) i will admit i would have prefered to grow up in your generation but ours isnt bad ;)
@junglebomber /nod bomber bought this in HMV bristol played it in central chambers pre club bar every sat night. always got a crowd reaction.. kids nowadays what do they know! 38 and happy
@junglebomber is this a heavy track then? ... - you should go out and listen to more music, lots of pathetic music yeah, but you can't tell me there wasn't pathetic music back to the time this was made. There are pretty damn good tracks nowadays too.
As soon as the intorduction starts my lips buckle inwards, my jaw pushes outwards and pictures of an early chapter of my life come into my mind - so many friends, places, lights and faces... ...And on my loved ones. And on... X
It's not Orbital, per se. It's Mike Hazell with Paul Hartnoll who later started Orbital with his brother Phil. Mike wrote the tune. Paul played on it with him.
