  • This is how season 3 should begin.

Sherlock walks into the room, covered in blood for some reason, then he rescues John from the heart attack and theeeeeen cut to the opening credits. ;-)

  • John. YOUR FACE.

  • 0:07 - Watson's face is just precious! XD

  • Comment removed

  • when i saw this i just culd not stop laughing XD hes mega sexy.....even covered in blood ;)

  • My mistake - it was the Mystery of Black Peter!

  • This happened in one of the books; although not Hound. I think it was the Adventure of the Six Napoleans - also Sherlock wasn't covered in blood in that; it was just the harpoon!

  • "You went on the Tube like that?"

"None of the cabs would take me."

I can't imagine why, Sherlock! Can't imagine why!

  • I love how Johns hair goes up when he sees Sherlock :)

  • In the real world Sherlock wouldn't have got more than a few yards without being busted for carrying an offensive weapon and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. He and John do several illegal things in each episode, with complete impunity, which begs the question: in their universe, what exactly constitutes a crime, something that needs the services of a detective?

  • @danlefou pig was already dead. says so in book (adventure of black peter).

  • @danlefou The problem is that the show is trying to stay faithful to the books and please old school Sherlock fans with the new spin. Many things that are illegal now, were not back then and I think the show does a good does a good job balancing it. You could always just assume that either Sherlock's too good to get caught or Mycroft and Lestrade interfere on his behalf.

  • @xena91388 Yes, but how was a cop seeing him on the street in that condition and armed to know he hadn't hurt an animal? They have to act quickly on suspicion, before someone gets hurt, and a harpoon being carried anywhere except on a whaling quayside (non-existent for at least half a century) is an offensive weapon, especially if it has obviously been used. I know this is a quote from one of the original stories, but to me it's just a step too far in the suspension of disbelief.

  • @danlefou If he was stopped by a cop, he probably flashed them Mycroft or Lestrade's ID and said he was on official business. Most likely he knows where to travel to avoid the patrols and the general public probably thought he was some hoax/prank actor for a tv show.

  • @xena91388 That's conceivable, I suppose. We must also assume that every CCTV operator in London knows Sherlock by sight, lol. :-)

  • @TheNeiraaa When I first saw this scene, I thought: "Oh noes, Sherlock will be very upset when he gets back and finds his one true love killed by a psychopath... o.O"

  • He even looks dashing covered in blood.

  • When I first saw this scene I thought :"That's it, he's lost it. He was so bored that he killed someone."

  • wait, so is a "tube" a subway? THIS WHOLE TIME I thought he meant he was on tv, and that he said "none of the cops would take me"...lol I am so not on board with British stuff while watching this show haha!

  • @barbaro267 LOL don't worry I did not know what a Tube was at first either, I just figured it was some sort of transport when he mentioned cabs.

It's funny because every time I learn a new British phrase I end up thinking "that makes a lot more sense than what we say in America..."

  • @melrastessa London's rapid transit system is called the Underground. The oldest lines, the Metropolitan, District and Circle, run through the city in shallow roofed-over trenches as in New York, whereas later lines are in narrow steel-lined bored-out deep tunnels called Tubes, invented by an expat American. Though the term really only applies to the latter, many Londoners call the whole system "the Tube." In the UK a subway is a pedestrian underpass for crossing a road or railway.

  • @danlefou Huh! Very cool. Thanks for that bit! Where I live, which is on the West Coast, we just have something very much like the NY subway but it's called BART. It's crap in my opinion but that's what it is. The difference I think is that it does go out of the tunnels sometimes. But it can be quite confusing to go between referencing BART, the subway, and now the Tube.

  • @melrastessa You're welcome. I know about the Bay Area Rapid Transit system, much heralded when built. Not up to expectations, eh?

55% of the London Underground is actually above ground, some of it for tens of miles, but it burrows under the city centre, the longest tunnel being 17 miles. The Northern Line, the first Tube, passes 221 feet below a hill in Hampstead. Sherlock's local station, Baker Street, is a major junction, with 10 platforms, and there are 270 stations in all.

  • I'm from Hong Kong... And is haunted by SH starting a few days ago. In a good way of course. How blind could I have been to have missed this series until now?

  • Is it wierd that he still looks good like that? Must be a God...

  • @Els5583 For me, this is proof that Benedict Cumberbatch should be in a horror film at some point...

  • THAT'S how you make an entrance.

  • Sherlock: I AM NOT A FREAKY FISH GUY.

  • I love how John's first reaction is how Sherlock got home and not what he was out doing that led him to being covered in blood. Shows how much John knows and trusts Sherlock.

  • all that`s missing is sherlock draging the body of the pig, and saying" John, tonight we feast"

    XD

  • I'm from the Caribbean. I have always loved Sherlock Holmes and I love Sherlock! XD

  • I was expecting him to say he;d been of hunting the great white whale!

    From Australia :P

  • Oh I drive a bus I would of picked him up quick hey hey

  • when you ask 'You went on the tube dressed like that?' you know you'ved been living with Sherlock for too long.

  • @Els5583 if it`s the first thing out of your mouth then yes. BUT you can be certain that you`ll never be bored :)

  • how is it that his trousers are not covered in blood? even if he had some sort of butcher's apron/smock/? at least his shoes should have blood spots.

    ah, details

  • none of the cabs would take him.... i wonder why....

  • any non british fans?

  • @hmg143 Me! I'm American and I absolutely love this show so much that I changed the region on my laptop so that I can watch Sherlock on DVD as soon as it is released in the UK =3

  • @hmg143 ME ME love this serie!. i`ve always loved sherlock holmes and british tv/comedy so this is the creme de la creme for me.the love for british tv comes from having been raised by a mother who, being a bit of english fanatic, made sure i knew about monty python and such. every friday they send an episode of the "old" sherlock holmes serie on tv here.the one with Jeremy Brett. and fortunatly i`ve finally found a place to watch sherlock online, so i`m reallllllly happy.

    PS: i`m from Denmark

  • @hmg143 yup. German.

  • @thepigmypuffshow Oh... umm, any Non-European fans?

  • @hmg143 at least seven in the US

  • @hmg143 Swedish one over here! :)

  • @hmg143 I'm from germany and I am a huge fan^^

  • well here we see an alternative way of getting a seat on the tube XD just show up like that, and someone will properly scootch over for you :)

  • and the winner for best halloween costume goes to....

  • "None of the cabs would take me."

lol he sounds so annoyed by that. "I have no idea why...idiots."

  • @jediknightcheeze yeah. that little unsaid " dunno why" really rounds it off :)

  • my face was the same as martins in this scene when i first watched this when it was on the telly lol i was like woooo what the hell have you been doing now sherlock lol

  • makes you wonder if Anderson is still amongst the living XD

just curious, since i don`t know anything about the size of a cab from London; would he have been able to fit the harpon into the cab at all?

  • @ranmachan29 Definitely. I was in one of those cabs in London this morning. They're very roomy. You could probably fit several harpoons in there if you had to :)

  • @BananasAreEvil66 even the regular black ones they seem to favor so much? it is a bit hard to get a good idea of the dimentions of the cab, since we only see the half where SH and JW sits.

  • @ranmachan29 It's hard from the angle they show the cabs from in the show, but they're designed to be able to fit 5 people and a wheelchair in the back. Harpoon = no problem whatsoever.

  • "None of the cabs would take me." (John's face when seeing Sherlock was priceless).

  • John's expression when he sees Sherlock is priceless! His eyebrows go up so far! LOL

  • LOL. Did anyone else notice his hand and fingers twitch? XDD

  • Sorry..how the fuck does Martin do that with his hairline?

  • lol i'm loving this show. Benedict and Martin are such a brilliant pair... loving the comedy although i must have missed that scene....

  • Is it bad that I am more than slightly turned on by the sight of a bloodied and out of breath Sherlock?

  • J: You went on the Tube looking like that?

S: None of the cabs would take me.

Me: D8 Dear lord! I wonder why! I'd be terrified to! (There are not enough words to describe how much I love this scene though XD)

  • @mangaqueen20 Also, consider how hard it would be to fit a harpoon into a cab.

  • @sternbergzookie actually we have had this question up once, where i asked if someone could tell me if he could have fitted the harpoon into a cap at all. and i was told that yes, it would be posible :)

  • @ranmachan29 How?

  • @sternbergzookie dunno, it was BananasAreEvil66 who told me, so you better ask him/her since i`ve never been in a london taxi

  • ...and thus the guy who wouldn't sell Sherlock the ciggarettes went missing...

  • Thinking about it, this clip is less than half a minute long, but they spent (most likely) hours on putting the fake blood (or whatever it is) onto Benedict even though it doesn't really hold much relevance to...anything

Yet another reason to love BBC's Sherlock; they include the random :D

  • @M8719 Its not random, its a reference to Black Peter, a post-hiatus short story in canon. The authors love giving us these little treats!

  • @Midorikonokami I know that it's a reference to another story (although I wasn't sure which one so thank you for informing me), and it's an awesome touch, but it had no real relevence to the episode which makes it random.

And this little snippet of another story shows that Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are uber Fanboys of Sherlock Holmes XD

  • @M8719 Yes, they are, isn't it wonderful! I love how they maximise the Doyle in the three 'episode' movies they have. They mix the stories, did you realise? Like the Irene Adler case also has elements of 'The Illustrias Client', and the man fainting on their doorstep echoes Priori School as well as him running to Holmes before being arrested has shades of the Norwood Builder case ... it just never ends, and it's so much fun to Sherlock Watch!

  • @Midorikonokami I guessed they would have included other references in the episodes, but I've never actually read the books (something on my list of things to do >.<) so I've not noticed the references unless someone else has pointed them out :/

  • @M8719 it's no problem! this show really has so many levels on enjoyment, and for me that is always a sign of quality - if you can entertain different people on different levels, you've done loads of work, and you've done it well. But do go hunt our Holmes down. The Sherlockian has them all, and there is another website, here h t t p : // 168. 144. 50. 205 /221bcollection / canon/ (remove spaces! I hope youtube doesn't eat it) that also has them all. Gutenburg project also has them up.

  • @Midorikonokami Totally agree with you on that one, it is amazing how quite an intellectual show has grasped a variety of people :D

Thanks for the address, my first respone to seeing the website was "that is awesome", so I'll check it out properly when it's not *checks time* half one in the morning...huh. Then perhaps we could have a more nerdy conversation about Holmes :P

  • @M8719 I look forward to the nerdy conversation! :3 Send me a pm if you like, it will be fun!

  • I love how John's whole hair moves when he sees him.

  • It is impossible to pinpoint anything that makes this funny because it's just too good! Excuse me whilst I succumb to my uncontrollable laughter on the floor - HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • I can't breath....seriously I can't stop! Oh. God!

  • Uh, Sherlock?... You got red on you. ;)

  • @Serenity113 LOL YES!!!

  • @Serenity113 Of course he will! He wouldn't leave John at the altar! (I can dream, can't I :3)

  • John's face was priceless. I can't wait for series 3. I bet that Sherlock turns up at John's wedding.

  • the look on John's face was GOLD. The more clips I watch, the funnier it gets. I can't wait for series 3

  • *I wished i was Sherlock's flatmate....

    Anyone else?*

  • I wud take him in can any day xxx

  • Is it me or does he look just a little bit foxy all covered in blood?

  • John doesn't raise his eyebrows... He brings up his hair.

    #magicofthefreeman.

  • @weehcd More like he relaxed his face in shock.

  • @FinTantei Well, probably. He's still magic.

  • @weehcd Oh, that he is ;D

  • @weehcd AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHA

  • The best part is Sherlock's irritation at the fact that he couldn't get a cab. He seems to be genuinely unaware of the problem.

  • @SingolloLomien I thought that aswell! :)

Oh, how i love Sherlock (Ben) <3

  • "Mermaids are a serious issue John."

  • I'm dying for the episode John just gets fed up and says "No shit, Sherlock."

    Pipe dream??? lol

  • @stargleekminion

Hey, we asked for a Deerstalker hat on the Forums and Moffat delivered. Anything is possible! =D

  • @stargleekminion I actually thought of Lestrade, seemed to obvious to have John say it. :D

  • "..Not even Moriarty would take me in his cab, some nonsense about the expensive upholstery."

  • He kind of reminds me of Van Pelt

  • DAWWWWW YESH LOL

  • I seriously wanna know what he'd been doing with that shank.

  • i love Johns face at the end of this lol its like oh god. not again.

  • A nice reference to the SH short story "Black Peter".

  • the thumbnale to this video looked EXTREMELY naughty...

  • He looks like Ahab after his fight with the whale in Moby Dick.

  • PokerPirate: Read "Black Peter"

  • Wait- I still don't understand what's happening in this scene.

  • Showed this clip to my friend who wasn't sure about watching Sherlock. Needless to say, she had finished both series in 3 days.

  • I love how, instead of raising his eyebrows, John raises his entire forehead.

  • John's face -.- O_O

  • I'm starting to wonder if the "tedious" remark was in reference to the harpooning or the tube, lol

  • Oh god. Martin Freeman's face is just so expressive. He manages to show every one of John Watsons feelings about Sherlock and his odd behavior. :D

Also I must sound so ignorant, but when people say "the canon" what does that mean? Is it like the original or what?

  • Maybe this is a loop series. At the end he jumps off the building covered in blood and arrives back in the first one covered in blood and alive. It will just go round and round forever

  • Is it weird that he looks really good like that?

  • @InsanityOfTheFuture Thank god im not the only one, thought i was demented for thinking that :D

  • @InsanityOfTheFuture Nope....couldn't be more sexy lol

  • the two doggy bobble heads reminds me of Sherlock and John. Sherlock as the german shepherd of course :D

  • Most epic bit in this episode :D

John's face is brilliant when he look's up, its just like O_O

    Love these 2 <3

  • "None of the cabs would take me" I wonder why :D

  • my fave bit is johns face at 0:08

  • 0:08 John doesn't raise his eyebrows...he lowers his hair! :P

  • @XxCarlieCullenxX tumblr? lol

  • @XxCarlieCullenxX

    I know right?!

  • Only Benedict Cumberbatch can make the 'I've just killed a pig look' hot.

  • Anyone think this might be the clue Steven Moffat was talking about when he said we'd all missed something that would hint to how Sherlock survived? I'm not sure what it could be but I'm desperate to find out!

  • @Zannishify my guess is that the clue douent refer to holmes survival but moriatys

what i think is that when sherlocks "admitting" him being a fraud he has no need to john obviously wouldent buy it moriartys "dead" the assassins cant hear so i think he is trickin moriarty who isnt dead. i certain JM isnt dead because on johns blog theres a clip of a news report the fails to mention moriatys body on the roof which the police would have checked

  • @Reapzehz Oh yeah, good point about Moriaty's body (or lack of)! And I'd completely forgotten about the fake owning up thing. It's got to be some kind of hint, right? Maybe we should just go and kidnap Steven Moffat and/or Mark Gatiss to find out. And persuade them to broadcast the next series asap!

  • "None of the cabs would take me."

John needs to get himself a car...

  • Well, that was tedious.

  • What I REALLY want to know is HOW THE HELL did he get like that

  • @hypofreak497 Black Peter - canon story :)

  • @HaloofCurls I see:) thank you

  • mother of god! O_O

  • Lol! 'none of the cabs would take me' Genius! can you do a video of the bit where sherlock pretends to be a priest who has been attacked please? It's the bit in A scandal in Belgravia. thanks!

  • John's face is like "Oh God, he's finally gone and done it."

  • You can see it in Johns face as he takes in Sherlocks appearance: 'Oh no, my poor baby, what happened?! Did you hurt yourself?'

  • I really want to know what sort of case he was working on now, lol! Brilliant scene! :D

  • @Animalmadjojo Black Peter - canon story :)

  • @HaloofCurls Oh wow, thanks - I forgot about that story! I'll have to go and read it again now! :D

  • You know you've been Sherlock's flatmate too long when he walks in covered in blood and holding a harpoon and the only thing you think to ask is "You went on the Tube like that?"

  • @phemyda94 I wish I could like this post one million times.

  • You can tell John is used to Sherlock's strange antics ..... esp since him walking in like that is probably not one of the strangest things hes done...

  • hahaa, john..

  • thanks so much for all these videos love them all!!

  • I don't know why but I just love those little dog toys in the beginning.

  • First john looks up like "oh sherlocks home" then he sees him and his expressions like "ftw"

  • John's look is priceless :D
