  • Thanks very much!

  • I am very happy to see the vidoe from you, hopefully the others also are happy for You Markov Matrices; Fourier Series

  • Steady I Really Like This Video Markov Matrices; Fourier Series

  • Good, I like that you share this video Lecture 24: Markov Matrices; Fourier Series, I wish success always

  • Nice Video That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You Markov Matrices; Fourier Series

  • I Really Like The Video Markov Matrices; Fourier Series From Your

  • Your Video Markov Matrices Fourier Series Is Very Useful Sharing

  • after i watched this video Markov Matrices; Fourier Series., my insight is very open because the video is very good to give information

  • thanks professor gilbert

  • i really like the way gilbert strang teaches.

  • This is useful to students who are suddenly ill , who can't attend school anymore . I salute Google Guys who are also GENIUS of Maths ! i.e. Eric Smidt , Larry Page , etc . etc . etc .......... Let ' s toast to all students who LOVE Maths !!!!!!!

  • Youtube should have been INVENTED during the early 80s . We wouldn't be MEMRORIZING till BRAIN - DEAD if we have these back then !!!!!! Ha Ha Ha ......... no wonder no need to compare the SUBSTANCE of students 23 years later !!!!!! Ha Ha Ha .................

  • Western Educators were NEVER ONCE FAIR to Chinese Students !!!!!!! It was and never will !!!!!!

  • Yeah ! Sir !

1 Question on the Passing Grade of students on Maths !!!!! Should the answer arrive to be the same with different sets of workings by this Student and not following the SOLVING METHOD of this particular School Maths Teacher , is this student to be MARKED WRONG again just because she has her own way of SOLVING ???????? Why must School Management Boards of Singapore be SO RIGID ?????? THEY THINK they are KINGS ??????????

  • Oh ! That problem with this China Fuzhou girl was she was playing TOO MUCH COMPUTER GAMES that make her Brain LAZY cause she just want to play and keep on playing all those STUPID GAMES !!!!!! That ' s why I turned down all offers on China Chinese students . Waste of my time & efforts !!!!!!!!

  • This is SO GOOD for those weaker Maths students where they could just scroll to wherever they don't understand and dah ! dah ! It ' s finally solved !!!!! Especially Girls who kept on failing Maths where even Maths Tutors can't save them . Yeah ! 1 China Fuzhuo 15 year old girl who fail Maths by 1 mere mark has to get KICKED to study " N " level , wasting another year because of such Education System in Singapore which is NOT FAIR !!!!!!!!!!

  • 数 学 真 容 易 呐 !!!!!

Sir ! Would you be SO KIND as to upload MORE VIDEOS for Singaporean Students who do not wish to fly so faraway to U.S. to study ?????? Thanks a lot !!!!!! I LOVE MATHS !!!!!!!!

  • o.o hey, any0one know where the quiz review on monday went? i remember one of these did a quiz review before and was looking forward to not rewatching the hour long lecture on QR. although it woulndt be intolerably painful if i had to anyway.

  • I bet this guy doesn't weigh a hundred pounds soaking wet.

  • NICE !!!.......HOWEVER I LEARNED FOURIER ANALYSIS AND MATRIX THEORY ON MY OWN .....SCHOOLS LIKE MIT ARE 2 EXPENSIVE.......I LOVE MATHEMATICS THOUGH!!!!

  • Oh and... the reason these all "ad" to one .. moving down..?

    Is also very simple.

To "simplify the smallest denomination .. of any mathematical equation .. one simply removes any non-applicable (end) zeros .. before & after the final "compacted answer .. thus 1+2+7 = 10

Lose the zero - becomes 1

    1+99=100 & lose the zeros - becomes.? 1

    3+3+4= ??? 1

  • Yeah, Ummm Decimal's mean less than a whole number? So how the fuck are any of those numbers greater than zero? I think he means less than, or equal too. BOOM. I'm greater than Princeton.

  • @armyofskanks ? BULLET POINT ... shown by a single DOT (without a ZERO in front) makes it ..

    (.) A BULLET POINT

Therefore .. instead of CONFUSING YOU .. by putting NUMBERPOINTS... like this:

    1-2

    2.2

    3.7

    4.01

    etc etc..

HE - deliberately ..JUST uses "bullet points"..

But then again - Simple english - fails mathemeticians everday doesn't it.?

  • he wears the same thing :D all the time. almost hehe

    thorough lecturer though

  • I wonder would we even have youtube and a cheap and accessible internet service for us to watch the classes on line without capitalism.

  • Some smart people moved from California to Massachusetts,

some people stayed in California and made a billion.

  • There are a lot of comments along the lines of "why isn't my teacher as good as this". Well, if your teacher isn't good enough, or you don't have a teacher, you now have the option of making Prof Strang your teacher. The world still isn't perfect (you'll still have to do a lot of homework to learn the stuff properly, you'll have to chase up for yourself the things you don't understand, you're not going to get a piece of paper from MIT at the end), but it's an amazing new option to have.

  • the vector [1 1 1]_transposed is in the null space of (A-I)_transposed. And as (A-I)_transposed = A_transposed - I so it will an eigen vector for A_transposed.

  • one note: the eigenvector isnt in N(A), but N(A-lamda*I). When the vector goes through A, the result should be a non-zero multiple of itself. If it were in the nullspace, it'd just produce the zero vector

  • Prof. Strang just started referring to (A-I) as A at 14:43 by mistake; not a big deal, the point he was trying to make was clear.

  • You point being? Go and laugh and bully at bill gates cause he made billions at being a geek maybe he'll be scared and give is money away in the desperation attempted you stop you taunting him

  • why cant my math prof teach like this.

  • This is exactly the way math teachers should present new ideas: it's clear, progressive, starting from examples BUT without depending of the example that is currently used.

  • This is why the world is it the way it is though. Capitalism instead of good for all. The kids that go to MIT are more likely to succeed with a worse teacher. The kids that go to high school in the projects need teachers like this. It's both bad and good, blah

  • Well regulated capitalism is good for all. The kids in the projects wont succeed even with Gilbert Strang for a teacher. The desire to learn is a cultural one that starts in the home and is fostered by parents. That's why you're correct in observing that the kids at MIT don't need good teachers: the desire to learn is already in them and they will do so regardless.

  • Capitalism can't be regulated and it never will be, someone always loses. It all starts at home, that's right , but even if someone is dealt a bad card if they have an excellent teacher it is a lot easier to overcome what is at home. Plus an example of what you could be in the future. Give me 20 kids in the ghetto give them the best teachers and logic prevails.

  • No system is perfect, but in terms of ethics, regulated Capitalism has thus far proven to be far superior to any other system tried. I'm not sure what you mean by 'logic prevails'. The best teachers in the world will not be able to even get the attention of 20 unruly ghetto kids let alone shape their minds.

  • ok there doogie

  • i love eigenvectors =)

  • That is a great Professor!

I am glad you guys posted this.

    Thanks!

  • what is something that divides something else into parts? i challenge anyone can get it ...

  • a divisor?

  • If they use white board and slide projector, you fall sleep in 5 min.

  • nice, thanks and good quality on video

  • im not worthy to watch this!

  • amazing!
