  • Link to the .exe?

  • @isthisnickvalid just google for it, I have the binary since the pre-internet ages :) :)

  • @isthisnickvalid seach the scene.org or pouet.net for "wonder of the world"

  • This in motherfuckin 1995

  • @FragMan69 And ...? Sorry I can't get the point of your comment.

  • @lgblgblgblgb Really impressive for motherfuckin 1995. That's what I meant.

  • @FragMan69 Ahhh, ok, I agree :)

  • 'please wait while we build pre-calc tables' black screen here at 2:38... Fantastic!

  • They don't do them like this anymore... :/ ... (ok, they still (occasionally) do, but still, those were magic years :))

  • Moi ce qui m'a toujours le plus impressionné dans cette démo c'est le tunnel en voxel (à 2:50 environ) :)

  • I was always wondering what was that "50$" about at the end??

  • I can ask RA if u want :D

  • yeah, can you please ask him about that. Thank you

  • I will ask Ra ;)

Wonderfull, Old School Music playin' with bass guitar... It take you so high <3 Thanks to Nooon, particularly Ra !

  • Ra?? The GFX is very nice but come on Barti is the man!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant, this was one of my favourites back then. Very cool muzax and design.

  • A good demo, but I still think Psychic Link's "Juice" was better.

  • I think Psychic Link's Juice was very cheesy. Music, ducks, colors, graphics, even music.. It wasn't as original as Stars. Look at those effects :]

  • one of my favorite demos of all time

  • THIS IS A TRUE CLASSIC! This demo was # 1 on most of the charts all over the Europe for few years. I mean people were voting for this demo 2-3 years after it was released.. Most people would say that 2nd Reality changed PC Demo Scene, but I say Stars: Wonders of the World had more influence on PC scene then any other demo during the 90's!!!

    Brings great memories, doesn't it?

    M. Rytel aka Forcer of Hellcore^Grinders^Mosaic!

  • I used to think this soundtrack was totally super awesome. Still is very good, but it has faded a bit over the years, i must admit. Killer demo at the time though

  • barti.... phone home, the demoscene needs you

  • Incredible artistic as always, from Amiga spawned creators. Intriguing that this was made in 1995, considering all the nice 3d stuff, shading, displacement maps, texture blending etc. Awesome music. Could have been a 2007 demo...

  • Sure. And no 3D hw support DirectX Windows or similiar was needed

on much smaller system ... Hardware become stronger but

software become much more slower and bigger than hardware evolves. Eg: GEOS

on C64 was similar that Windows gives. Sure, it's

much simplier, etc. But, compare CPU clocks and memory sizes of a

    C64 (64Kbyte RAM, ~1MHz CPU) with a PC (?? 512Mbyte RAM, 1-2GHz

CPU). I don't think that today's softwares are bettern "N" times,

where N is the factor PC is "bigger" than C64 is with.

  • Modern operating systems and software are much more abstracted, and thus slower, because otherwise they would be impossible to maintain and develop.

  • Sure, I know as a developer ;) My message was some kind of nostalgia. Also please note that nowdays everybody ever write an ugly expolitable PHP script call himself as 'programmer'. I think nowdays we need RAD and abstraction layers, more power etc, but programmers SHOULD know something about the raw things and the depth of these also to be able to honor current stuffs.
